Chapter 3 - Awakenings
Uehara: (with a big smile) Good Morning!
Momoi: (Sob Sob)
[The class just stares at them.]
Senbongi: Akira, are you alright? Do you have a fever?
Uehara: (What up?) Lovely morning, isn't it Senbongi?
Momoi: (Graping her arm and pulling her out of the classroom) Hey, Uehara! (Come here a minute!)
Senbongi: ...................?
Momoi: (Whispering) You have to be more careful, remember, you're me now. If I suddenly start acting different, people are going to know something's up.
Uehara: (Also whispering) Yeah, yeah. I gotcha. (normal voice) I'll just act like your old plain and painfully boring self. (No Problem.) It's you I'm worried about, though. Don't do something stupid to give yourself away.
[Momoi bleeds out as a knife cuts into his head; Uehara walks away.]
Shina: (Calling out from behind him) Good morning, Nankako!
[He twitches and freezes.]
Momoi: (Turning around with a smile) Good morning, Shina! (Thinking) Uh, I think this is Momoi's best friend.
Shina: (Looking worried) Nankako, are you alright? Do you have a fever or something? Why are you being ...Friendly?
Momoi: ..................................... (Trying to change the subject) Shi... Shina, hey. You look kinda pale yourself. Are you okay?
Shina: Ugh, It's my second day, and I'm not feeling too good. I don't know ... I might skip P.E. today.
[Momoi blushes and panics a bit.]
(Shina: (continuing) I hate being a woman, you know?)
P.E.!!! That's right! Our first class is P.E. Aah. Life can be cruel sometimes, but it can also be good.

Girl's Locker Room
Shina: What are you doing, Momoi? You're gonna be late if you don't hurry up!
Momoi: (Still blushing) Yeah... I Know. (Thinking) I feel kinda guilty about this, but right now, I am Momoi! I have to do this! Okay. (outloud) I, uh, I'm coming in.
[The door creeps open to his touch. He stands there in the doorway for a moment, awestruck. He quickly gets to a corner and tries to change clothes while not looking any further.]
Momoi: (Thinking) I'm so glad to have been born!
Girl 1: Momoi, are you okay?
Momoi: (Thinking, continuing) And I'm not even doing anything wrong! I won't have to worry about Momoi showing up at school wearing only a pair of socks!
[Is in a state of bliss... Which disappears in a poof as a girl grabs "her" breasts from behind.]
Girl 2: Whoa! Hey Nakako, your boobs are even bigger than last time!
WHAT?!
Girl 2: (continuing to grope "her" breasts) Oh, man! Back at the beginning of the semester, mine were bigger than yours! Remember?

[He gets a huge nose bleed.]

Shina: Huh? Are you sitting it out, too?
Momoi: Yeah. I feel kinda dizzy.
Shina: Oh. Are you okay?
Momoi: Yeah. (Thinking) Geez. That really startled me. Girls sure are weird. You wouldn't catch guys groping each other like that. What would they grope for crying out loud?
Uehara: MOVE!!
Momoi: (Thinking) Momoi!
[Nanako's tearing down the court... jumps... and grabs onto the rim of the basketball net above where Shina and Akira are sitting. There's dead silence in the gym.]
Uehara: (Thinking) Wow...
[There's a loud "crkk" as the rim breaks off.]
Senbongi: Akira, watch out!
[Nanako falls down as Akira and Shina get out of the way.]
Senbongi: (continuing as he rushes over) AAAAH! Akira, are you okay?
Uehara: (Standing up with a huge smile) Did you see that? Did you? That was awesome! I could never do that before, 'cuz I was too short and couldn't jump that high! Man, it sure is great being a guy!
Momoi: Momoi...
Senbongi: (noting what Akira just said) Huh?
Momoi: (Panicking) Oh! Uh, nothing!
Teacher: (Yelling from across the gym) UEHARA!! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?
Uehara: (Turning around) Oh-Oh.
(Girls in the class: Uehara is so cool!
Was he always that good at sports?)
(Teacher: (Blah Blah Blah))
(Uehara: Look, this is a good thing. We found out sooner rather than later that the hoop was falling off.)
Senbongi: I guess he is great at sports. We never knew it, because his personality's always been so ...Blah. What's with him today?

Shina: (Weakly, in pain) ow...
Momoi: (noticing Shina) Shina?

Momoi: Is it your stomach? Do you want to go see the school nurse?

[At this time Nanako notices Shina in the corner and walks over as the teacher looks over the broken rim.]
(Teacher: Oh, man...)
Uehara: What's the matter?
Momoi: She's not feeling very well.
Uehara: (Recognizing what's wrong) Oh.

Uehara: (Forgetting for a second that she's in a Akira's body) Shina, didn't I tell you to take it easy, especially on the second day*?

[The class just stares on in silence.]
Teacher: Uehara?
Uehara: Sir, I'll just take her to the school nurse.
Teacher: Uh...
Shina: (Still blushing) Wait!
Uehara: Shut it. You're in no condition to walk right now. Just lie still.
[Shina just blushes deeper as they leave.]
(Others: Hey. What's going on with Uehara today?
Has he always been this cool?
That Shina sure is lucky, huh?

[Akira rushes after them.]
Momoi: (Calling out as he leaves the Gym) Teacher! I think I should go with them! It'd help for another girl to be there.
Senbongi: (Calling out as he follows) I'll join her. (Thinking) Akira, what are you up to?
(Teacher: (as Senbongi goes out) Hey, you! Wait!)

School Nurse's Office
Uehara: (As she's tucking Shina into bed) The nurse should be back in a minute. In the meantime, you wanna take something?
Shina: Ok. Thank you. Uehara.
Senbongi and Momoi: (Thinking) ................
Senbongi: Hey, Akira. What's gotten into you today? You've been acting weird.
Uehara: What do you mean?
Senbongi: Umm, it's kinda hard to explain. You've just been so on the ball today. So... manly.
Uehara: Are you possessed or something? Of course I've been "manly." I'm a man. The hell's wrong with you?
Momoi: ...........................
Senbongi: (Turning to Akira) Come to think of it, you've been awfully quiet today Momoi.
[He twitches.]
Senbongi: (Continuing) What's wrong? Does your stomach hurt, too? Been eating off the floor again, huh?
Momoi: (With a somewhat forced smile) No, not at all! I don't think I'm any different than normal!
Senbongi: Hm.
[Akira stars trembleing as tears come out slowly.]
Senbongi: Momoi? What is it?
Somehow, I've always known this, but... Momoi is manlier than I am... And she's a girl! I'm so pitiful.
Momoi: (Clearing the tears away) It's nothing.
[Senbongi seems capavated by "her" tenderness.]
Senbongi: .................

Momoi: (Thinking) What kind of guy am I?
That I was a much better girl than Momoi could ever hope to be.
(Uehara: (Giving some pills and water to Shina) Here's your medicine)
