Azra was seeking the one lion that can turn her life around for her. She could not do it herself. She sought this one out as to be her mate, or her maker. She could not care less, this lion would be someone she cared for deeply and so that lion can make a decision based.

Slowly she stalked through the Pride Lands having met many encounters along the way, lioness, lions, birds, and a snake. All of whome influenced her decision. Leboya, a playful, carefree lioness was able to restore Azra's playful old self, but something in her dreaded everything. It would seem that whereever she went, there was a lion, and that lion brought up memories of her dark, painful past. In just a few weeks, breeding season will start for her and she will then go into heat, leaving herself valnurable to almost any male out here in this land. She was running short on time and brought her search to another step. She had to find this lion, and soon.

neokitsune
Athrun walked slowly over the grasslands before him, yawning a little with every step and fluffing his wings out and about to make himself cooler. The hot air was scorching down on his bandanna, though for the life of him he couldn’t seem to cool off.

Grumbling to himself about the heat and the pain and the loneliness that for some reason seemed to make his chest burn anymore, Athrun sat down next to a large rock in the Pride Lands and closed his sky blue eyes tiredly. Slowly he covered his black hieroglyphic curse markings with his huge wings and laid on his side boredly.

This day was making him lag. Something in his heart was burning for company though everything in his nature told him that he hated that company. Maybe he was just strange?

Azra's body was wearing down as the heat from the early noon was pressing down on her orange pelt. Her maw opened as she gasped for air with each step. She had not eaten anything since she reached these lands, saw no need to.

Off in the distance she saw a rock with some shade and quickly padded over. Slowly she eased herself down and let out a soft sigh. She needed to find someone that could help her, but at the same time, she pushed thoughs who tried to help. Was she strange?

Oddly, she was unaware of what was on teh other side of the large rock she laid beside. The rustling leaves of the tree that overhanged it was too relaxing for her to move anymore.

A ripple ran through Athrun's net of consciousness to the left of him, letting him know that there was another near him. From what the god could tell they were sitting on the other side of the rock he'd sat down beside. Raising an eyebrow free of its cloth prison, Athrun opened his eyes behind the blindfold and stood slowly.

Thanks to a larger size, the god could peer over the rock at the orange and purple lioness that rested beyond. When his heart skipped a beat, the god froze in his attempt to get skyborne and turned to look at her again. There was something about her that, despite his better judgement, made Athrun want to sit and stare at her.

Though that was rather rude, so instead he opted to lean his head to one side and flick his dark red tail a bit.

"And what brings you out in the heat of a day so bright?" Athrun asked quietly.

Azra raised her head as her eyes opened wide from what was standing before her. A lion with wings? What was this creature? Was it what others called a "God?" Azra sat up and returned her orange gaze to the large lion. "I came to rest in the cool shade, but I can now assume that you too had the same notion, M'lord?" she asked, being as polite and mannered as possible. Her paws laced before her, her tail around her paws. Her eye contact kept breaking as her violet eyes wandered over the high diety's body. His large magnificant white wings, dark brown fur to contradict his pure white, and a strange object over his eyes, that is what kept her focus. Why did he wear it?

Smiling at her, Athrun nodded his head slowly.

"Yes. The heat is rather cruel to those that have wings and a dark red mane. Sometimes it even burns at times." Ruffling his wings once again to let in the cool air and push out the heat, Athrun sat down with his paws atop the rock, his eyes glittering behind the blindfold as he activated the Eye on said blindfold and glanced at her.

But this M'lord stuff would have to go.

"My name is Athrun, but you can call me whatever you want, save for M'lord. That's far too formal for a conversation on a nice day like this, don't you think?" The smile that ensued was a little flirty, but honestly even a god could flirt from time to time, right?

As the male spoke, her eyes watched his wings as they moved. A lion, strong and magestic, with the wings of a bird, so fragile and yet swift. Athrun was both as a God. "I would assume that you perfer it down here on the ground. Hot air rises." Azra smiled up at the lion, she paled in comparison to the large creature. She thought of getting closer to him, but decided against it for the time being.

"Athrun....." she murmured, she was probably not gonna remember it. "My name is Azraceri, but please call me whatever you wish, M.....Athrun." the lioness bowed her head. "I guess saying that would be too formal." Azra gasped when he smiled, it was so.....cute and handsome.

"Athrun, I should not be here, in just a few week I and many other lionesses will go into heat. I have to find a mate by then." she spoke, blushing slightly having speaking of herself. "Do you mind if I stick with you if I happen to cannot find one by then?" she asked holding tightly to her belief that Gods cannot reproduce.

Raising his eyebrows free of his blindfold, Athrun lost his balance on the rock and fell heavily onto his back on the other side. A lioness going into heat wanted to stay with a male because she couldn't find another male?

What the heck?!

Clearing his throat and flipping himself to his feet, Athrun glanced over at the orange lioness sheepishly and flicked his long tail. "Azraceri, was it? You want to stay near me? A male? A god is like any other male, a female in heat is a female in heat." A slow blush worked it's way over Athrun's cheeks, tinging his snow white fur pink.

"If you wish to stay with me though, the least I could do is protect you." The god said with a slow smile. He could restrain himself if it came down to it, though he would have a hard time of it with a lioness so pretty.

"Athrun!" she called, walking around the walk. She came to his side and nuzzled him softly for comfort. The lioness felt weird talking to a God about herself in such a strange way. She believed that Gods could not reproduce, and she held firm to that idea until proven wrong. If she was in heat and did not have a mate by then, then she would come to Athrun for protection since he would not do anything to her....right? "You are a God and I am a mere Mortal. Besides someone such as yourself would not want someone like me." her tail flicked.

"Thank you, sire." she spoke, dipping her head to him. That is all she wanted, to be protected from the males out there that would take her maliciously. She would stick with him until the heat passed and then spend another time to find her mate.

"Who's to say that I wouldn't want someone like you?" Athrun said frowning. "My last mate that was killed was mortal and I loved her very much."

Sure and he also missed her like mad. Speaking of his mate like he just had ripped his heart to shreds, or at least what was left of it. The icy void that filled his chest probably couldnt' be called a heart. Yet for some reason every time this lioness moved or spoke his chest was on fire. And that nuzzle had just made him blush even harder, not taking away the flash of pain in his chest either.

"You're welcome. But again, none of this formal stuff okay? It makes me feel akward."

"Oh?" she purred. So the God had a mate, but did he have a family? Her belief still stood strong in her as she stood over the rolled over god. "Forgive me, I shaln't bring the subject again."

"Alright, no more formal stuff, M'lord." she replied playfully. Oddly, as a God she would see him with a full mane like every other adult lion. Her mind did not press on it. He was just young.

Looking at the lion reminded her of her past two mates. It hurt her just looking at him. He was cute as her first mate and strong and handsome as her last. She could see both of them in the God. Her heart ached just as it had the many years before. "I had a mate once, two in fact. They were killed as well..." she whispered.

"Yes, I did have a mate. So believe me I understand your loss. When she and our cubs were killed it was all I could do to not die of sorrow with them. The fact of what I am was the only thing that kept me alive, though sometimes I wonder why." Athrun said, turning his head away from her slightly as he looked at the ground, his eyes under the blindfold seeing far away.

Flicking a wing over the lioness's back lightly, Athrun glanced back at her through the Eye on his blindfold, still shivering slightly from just how beautiful she really was. If it came down to it he wasn't sure exactly how well he could protect her from other males if she was stuck beside him.

"As long as you agree M'lady." He smirked back at Azraceri playfully.

"Yes, I see. I had lost ten precious things in my life, and perhaps one more if I fail to find a permanant reason to live." The orange lioness murmured. "All of them taken from me, no matter how noble their intentions were, they are lost to me now. If I too lose myself, I will be able to join them, won't I?" she asked staring back up to the God. He was so nice, and caring; they had something in common, something they both experienced.

"Yes, I will come to you. I am relying on your protection." she smiled. "Please, that is too formal." she added, mimicking his voice.

Azra sat close to him, purrs emitting. Her violet eyes stared up at his face, masked behind the strange black object. "Athrun, what is that you wear on your face? Can you see me with that on?" she asked placing her paw on his, looking up with soulful and concerned eyes.

"I can't say that I lost ten things. I lost my love, my children and my pride all in one incredibly heart crushing soop though. I'm still in pain, though to be honest it could be a long time before I get over it. Children should never die before their parents." Athrun said after a long moment of thought.

His wing flicked idly over her back again, pulling her into him in a sort of hug. "I'll protect you as best I can. That I'll promise you."

Glancing down at the purring orange lioness, Athrun twitched inwardly again at her startling beauty and sighed softly. "It's a blindfold, to keep me from seeing the pain of this earth and yes, I can see you with it on." Lifting a paw he tapped the Eye of Horus in the center of the black blindfold idly. "This is what helps me see with my heart, not my eyes. It works better than my eyes ever did."

"Nor should they be born from their parent either." she added, looking down at her paws. That night of her three still born, she held them and cried for them all through out the night. The next day she requested a ratel to bury them with her. Her first mate and family, found murdered and left nothing taken but their lives. Her second mate killed before her eyes, his litter born dead. Her heart ached, but she restrained herself from pushing her problems to this God.

"Thank you, Athrun. I shall return here if so."

Azra stared up into the Eye of Horus, curious to see his true eyes, "Do you fear to take it off?" she purred, now leaning on him. He was so big and strong, yet he didn't even have a full mane. "God, why do you not have a mane like other lions?" she asked, pawing him softly.
