An avid Disney/Gargoyle fan showed me this yesterday: Gargoyle InfoI posted it in a Gargoyle thread out in the forums, but I figured I'd also post it here to let the Gargoyle Guild know, and to start a Season 2 DVD thread as we get more news. So, no more "I hope", but now it's concrete, they have started prepping the Gargoyles Season 2 DVD! So far it looks like they're speculating a December release like Season 1. The link on that page to Station 8 has some more info on possible "behind the scenes" stuff for bonus material. I have only skimmed through it so far, but I'm intrigued by the idea of seeing the alternate ending to "Vows" in the bonus footage.

Season 2 has fifty-some odd episodes, doesn't it? How are they going to go about releasing it?

Indeed . . . that would be quite a few DVDs . . . one is forced to cringe at the thought of how much that might cost. Then again, it might be similar to the Transformer Seasons- several sets per season.

At first I was thinking maybe it could be separated into the pre-Avalon episodes on one DVD and the Avalon and post-Avalon episodes on another, but that would still be 20 and 32 episodes, respectively. sweatdrop

I picked up the news from tvshowsondvd.com when it first broke. wink

I'm so glad to hear this. I hope they'll release more information soon. But no matter how they release it, I know I'll definitely buy it.

release date for Gargoyles season 2 part 1 is December 6th. So says DVDToons on an 8/2/06 post. It says: "This three-disc release will hold 26 episodes of the mid-'90s animated series, episodes #14-39, with audio commentaries and more bonus features to be announced". So we get eps up to Kingdom, which is 3 episodes into the "around the world on an Avalon boat" arch. The little blurp on that pages has a link to UltimateDisney.com for 'more info', which the link on that site leads to Amazon.com. The 'more info' hasn't been added at UltimateDisney evidently... Edit: the set will be going for $27.99

Yup. Pre-ordering is already available at Amazon.com. I will be waiting till the release day to order mine though, to help out the sales numbers.
The commentaries will be for City of Stone 1-4.

Not much longer until it finally come sout in stores. I'm so excited to finally be able to pick this up. I hope the rest of the series does manage to come out, even if we have a year's wait inbetween volumes.
