Mbaya had returned to the place where she had fought Hakan and was overcome by shame. How could she have been so sure when really she was filled with doubt? Hakan always said she was strong, and she was sure he meant mentally as well as physically. Why couldn't she take one loss?

Because she'd never lost, thats why, this was a different type of loss. Hakan had claimed her, in her moment of weakness.

The scars were still as fresh in her mind as the day they thought, but her physical injuries were fading though still obvious. Her limbs had healed themselves and she was now able to run, hoping the fight had strengthened her body.

Running along the graveyard, she just needed to escape, from where it had happened, where she had lost her dignity. She had always been so sure that she was the stronger one, and she was stupid to think somehow in their adolescence that the naturally stronger of the genders would lose.

She shook her head and sighed deeply. Soon enough she'd be back to her usual malicious self.

All scars heal.

Kimya found that she couldn't entirely withdraw from the borders of the graveyard again after her encounter with Mrost. She didn't know what had become of the rest of her family as she hadn't seen them in a few days, but rumor through the birds had it that they'd been causing trouble for a passing rogue. It worried Kimya, and upset her. How much else did she not know about her dear big brother that he kept hidden from them all? Why wouldn't he have told them of his pact with the god of war, why did he make such a pact, didn't he realize it was dangerous? The god of war seemed nothing if not threatening and aloof. Clearly if it had not been for the pact he had with her strongest protector, she would have been subjected to a much crueler encounter. She decided that perhaps she should stick around in case Hakan came back looking for Mrost here. She wanted to have a word with him, or two.

It just so happened that today actually brought results. She could scent Hakan's distinct smell approaching on the breeze, which otherwise only brought smells of death and decay from the rotting bones. The adolescent quickly realized, however, that there was something more strongly familiar about the smell. She'd only met her once and hoped never to again, but twice her brother had come back smelling of her, and now again. Mbaya.

The young lioness made a u-turn on the spot to face the oncoming one, scents of aggression flaring her nose. Had the two been fighting again? She should never have left the den that day, she'd caused nothing but trouble for her family by doing so.

The lionesses eyes widened with realisation as a smell crossed her nose. The smell of that female. If it wasn't for her, she would've never met Hakan. It was certain that Mbaya wouldn't attack Kimya again, because Hakan had always sworn revenge, and this time he'd got it.

She glanced at Kimya, it was a blank look, half dazed, half absent. Mbaya tried to narrow her eyes and give her standard malicious greeting though her glare was empty, not fuelled by hatred as it usually was.

She acknowleged the lioness with her look and then averted her gaze. Great, had the little girl come to taunt her about her loss? She was bitter, but nothing she said or did could come out the way she wanted it to. All her remarks, snarls and glares were locked away, leaving an ashamed shell of a lioness.

Mbaya would have stood up, but she was too exhausted. She hadn't slept since that night and there were several other feelings bothering her too.

Kimya cautiously began to approach the other, perhaps thrown off and concerned that she didn't seem to be herself. That just further convinced Kimya that Hakan must have done something to the other female though she hated to think less of him. Still, trust was like that, and she couldn't say without a doubt that he wouldn't do something like this.

"Mbaya... wasn't it? Ah... are you alright...?" She questioned softly, blue gaze slightly uncertain, but encouraging.

Mbaya was suprised by the females reaction. No taunting? She was almost thankful for the females calming voice. Was it so obvious that she wasn't herself? She just couldn't bring herself to be nasty to this female, and after all she didnt want Hakan to chase her up again. A feeling stirred in the pit of her stomach.

"I-i..." He voice trailed off, her hazel eyes suddenly became transparant and her shame was obvious. And it was her fault. She'd hit an all time low, but perhaps it was time to make amends with Kimya. No, she was going soft. The only character she considered as an ally was her brother, and Hakan. But now her brother had ran off and she'd embarassed herself in front of "the dark warrior"

Kimya seemed to be genuinely concerned, at least. She needed to stop pushing people away. Being malicious was tiring, and now she'd let her guard down, no one could be strong and hateful all the time.

"N-no, not really." She tried to give an expression to say she didn't care, and brought her posture to make her look stronger, but it seemed too fake so she dropped it and gave a smile. She was his now. Why had she allowed herself to be captured by him?

For once in her life she looked weak.

Kimya watched silently for the moment as the older female went through phases of visible inner-conflict. She waited until Mbaya had settled down into one visible mindset before speaking again or easing out of the caution of her approach. Trusting, she was, that it wasn't just a trick to draw her in closer.

She did seem to be quite a ways from home, at least from the last place that she'd run into Kimya, which was much closer to the brighter side of the Prideland borders. Kimya'Ukilia wasn't sure what to make of this, but decided that if Mbaya wanted to talk about it she would without the need of prodding, and so she wouldn't bring up the matter just yet. The darker, spotted female paused to settle in front of Mbaya with roughly half a yard's distance, two feet, it seemed adequet. She wasn't invading Mbaya's personal space, but was also close enough to give off a compassionate lack of fear. She offered a small smile in return.

Truthfully, Mbaya was the only other lion that Kimya had ever spoken with beyond her family and the god of war. She was antisocial, and most of it was because of her frightening experience as a baby, yet she felt connected to Mbaya in a strange way, through some odd form of understanding or something. She'd questioned the other's motives as she grew older, wondering still since that first encounter why anyone would be so mean spirited. Looking at the other now she already knew that no matter what might have happened in the past she wasn't angry at the other, nor could she act like it or hold a grudge. It wasn't in her nature.

Kimya's expression became troubled, quietly so, but she seemed bothered by what she asked next.

"Was this my brother's doing...? I can smell him, and I know that he's been in this area... if he's done anything to hurt you, especially because of me," A pause. "I am sorry." She murmered scincerely, and afterwords she seemed to come back around again. "Is there anything that I can do to help, Mbaya? I can listen, even if that's all...?"

Mbaya was glad of her company, yet ashamed to be seen so weak. This was only a phase. In the next couple of days she would pick herself off the ground and continue with her malicious behaviour, but for now...

She looked to Kimya, and she almost looked sorry. Her brow was furrowed and her eyes became glassy. She was bitter. Usually an actress she couldn't conceal her weakness nor her shame, she looked back to the ground.

As Kimya mentioned her brother, Mbayas eyes showed a little recognition, fear, or hatred? There was a feeling deep in the pit of her stomach which she couldn't figure out. Kimya was sorry?! Mbaya frowned. It wasn't her fault.

"Look, It wasn't your fault." She admitted. "It was my own stupid behaviour and although I'm not going to change, I'm never going to be so rude to you." Was she sorry because Kimya had led to this? No. She was sorry because she was so used to other creatures standing up for themselves. With Kimya there had been no fight.

"But yes, I suppose you could blame Hakan for this." She gave a small growl. "No thanks." Her voice was flat. "I do however appreciate your company."

If only her parents and Hakan could see her now, she would be so embarassed. At least this change in character was only passing.
