Mbari had recently grown into a adolescent and was finding it a little hard. He was behind in his social skills as he only ever spoke to his parents. Until this outing he had never left his mothers side. But given the recent events he found it was acceptable. The male was unusually nervous and skittish.
His golden form sat amoungst the rocks, he wasn't far from his mothers den and he knew she would come running if he called. Nervously he took a few steps, glancing about in a paranoid fashion as if he were being hunted.
Finally when he found it safe to stop again he reclined on a patch of short dry grass and lay out in the sun. It was unusual being alone, everything else was much more noticable, the silence, the lack of his mothers warmth, her kind gaze. Perhaps he would grow into a lion who was happiest amoungst his family. Family. He smiled at the word.
Mbari stretched out against the dry ground, the sun glaring down on his bright pelt, the air was still and for now, quiet.

The young pridelander cub awoke early that morning. The previous night, all he could think about was his mother. The emotions he felt over the whole " her running out on our dad " was giving him mixed feelings. He knew he shouldn't be thinking about this, he was only a cub .. he should go out and play with the others and not a have a worry in the world. Which was the normal thing to do for Mtamani, but every now and then the thoughts wonder back.
He was walking around the pridelands, not really having a specific destination, he just wanted to make some new friends. Slowly he came up on some scattered rocks and noticed a yellow lion sun bathing on a patch no further then 50 yards from Mani. He didn't know what to do without his father being there, approach and make friends? Or let them approach him. He didn't want to invade there territory or offend them. So he manned his ground and watched carefully.
( Sorry if it's a little sketchy, I haven't rped in over a month. Dx )

Mbari raised his head as he heard muffled pawsteps and opened one eye lazily. He sat up with a sudden jolt as he noticed a small cub a few strides away from him. He hadn't counted on bumping into anyone, he was simply sunbathing!
He lacked decent social skills so had no idea if to say hello or avoid the cub, and he couldn't read the cubs actions to give him any clues. He was completely lost. However his mother had always taught him to be friendly so he pulled himself up and stepped foward gently. "H-hello..." He paused, inhaling quickly, his topaz eyes shooting about the scenery, trying to take his mind of the conversation.
"I-im Mbari b-by the way, who are y-you?"

The golden cubs ADD almost kicked in when he noticed the lion start to approach him. He tried to act fast but he couldn't think of anything to do or say. He noticed that the lion was a bit bigger then him, but not as big as father. His eyes swayed back and forth, nervous as the lion spoke to him. He could tell the opposing lion was a bit skitish as well.
" Muh My name is Mtamani. " he began to calm down. " But peh-people call me Mani, nice tuh meet you. " he managed to throw in the last part.

He smiled nervously, moving a little closer. The cub was perfectly friendly! What was he so worried about? His mother said he needed to do this to build up confidence, or something similar, and his heartbeat slowed as he began to stutter again.
"S-so, are you a Pridelander?" He asked. By eyeing the cubs pelt he could guess from the range of golds that he belonged to the pride, though not all Pridelanders were brown and golden, those were the only ones he had seen so far, and was oblivious to the green and blue families living in Priderock.
His tail flicked from side to side, his shoulders a little tense as he never had a truly relaxed posture. His mother said it had come from his nervous and uptight nature.

Was this going to be the young cubs first friend? He needed some kind of lion to talk and play with besides his sister. I wonder what she is doing right at this moment ...
He blinked a couple times as the lion began to speak again " Yuh yeah, wouldn't rather be anything else. " he said proudly. He loved the pridelands, the scenary, the friendly environment. " Hu-how about yourself? " he had a pretty good feeling this lion was from the pridelands as well, but you never know. He hadn't met enough of them to REALLY get a variety.

Mbari gave him a shy smile and nodded. "P-pridelanders are k-known for being f-friendly." He replayed the little snippet of information his mother had given him when he was young.
The adolescent looked fairly proud as he answered the cub, nervously. "Y-yeah." He cast his topaz gaze around the scenary and bared his teeth again. "I l-like the scenary." He announce. And its home.

Mani had liked this lion, he pretty much knew what he was talking about. " SO, what do you do for fun around here? " the young cub asked curiously, his tail swishing back and forth.
He was so use to playing tag every so often, that he was ignorant to all the other games.

Mbari looked blank and blinked. "For f-fun?" He half asked himself the same question. Growing up with only his mother and occasional appearences from his father and no siblings meant he wasn't used to any type of game, play-fighting or anything else.
Fun. He enjoyed being in his mothers company, going for long walks and such. Should he mention that?
He smiled nervously. "I-i like being with my family... How a-about you?"

" I like playing with my sister ... sometimes. And I like to learn new things from my father. " Mani loved his dad, growing up without a Mother is hard for a young lion so it's nice of his dad to try and do both rolls... Although he can get a little fustrated sometimes, it works out in the end.
" Have you ever played tag then? " the cub asked curiously, cocking a brow.

It was strange. Although the cub was quite a bit smaller than him, Mbari still felt extremely nervous. Because this cub was a stranger or because this was his first time trying to be social he didn't know. His father. How he would have loved to have seen more of his father when he was a cub.
But things were different now, he had Amari and Mbari had accepted his apology. At the mention of tag, the adolescent looked confused. "T-tag?"

Mani started thinking to himself Is he for real but it could be possible he wasn't fibbing. A fumbled smile stretched across his maw and he spoke " It's a game. Theres a tagger and a tagee. The tagger goes over to the other person and touches him, then the other person becomes the tagger. "
He felt proud to explain a game to an older lion, but puzzled as well. But that how games get passed down, no matter who the teacher. [

"Oh" He said simply. He suddenly felt a little intimidated. Wasn't this similar to hunting? Except the tagee didn't end up bleeding and twitching on the floor. Hopefully.
He looked confused, brow furrowed as the younger lion finished. "R-right. So its like hunting except you h-hunt one another?" He had never liked hunting and he knew that he wouldn't be good at hunting nor tag. Poor Mbari was scared of everything.

The yellow lion had a whole different view of the game, possibly he should explain it more thurrow. " Well, yes and no. You tag one another by touching them with a paw, not using force so you don't hurt one another. " The cub was so confused at the lions lack of game knowledge, he just stared in awe.

"O-oh right..." Mbari looked a little relieved, to tell the truth. At least brute force wouldn't be used in this game and he wouldn't have to worry. Even though he doubted the small cub would be able to hurt him, pain was just one of those things he feared.
He had to admit it, he found socializing a little odd, but now his mother had Amari back and was expecting cubs he knew he would hardly have her to himself and though he could play with his siblings he knew it was time to find some friends of his own.
Smiling, he extended a paw and tapped Mani on the back gently. "T-tag?"
