Kiva and Ororo'Lisani meet again after months with no word.
PostPosted: Fri Aug 18, 2006 3:13 pm

Time.

The passing days seemed so irrelevent and forgotten. From the curious and wandering juvinille, Ororo had become an adolescent. Still drowning suitable and enjoyable lionesses with his sweet talk and charm (or so he thought so), Lisani had come to find that he had blossomed in confidence.

The once uncertain, estranged lion had come to find of greater truth and of a gaping emptiness that still took hold of his heart.

What had he lost?

If Ororo was to explain it to another, one would think him crazy or confused. These emotions, these long sought feelings still restraint his heart from finding affection for others as it only, to him, belonged to one.

Kiva.

But when had he last seen her?

He couldn't remember.

But Lisani would't give up that easily.

Stiff-leggedly padding through the vibrant jungles and through the grasses, he flicked his tail and sighed. "She's not here," he muttered as he turned around and began diverting upon another desolate trail.

He had searched; seeking her out and yearning to see her again but, as he had come to learn, that perhaps he was meant not to see her again. perhaps the first time was only a given chance. Yet the unceasing desires pressured him to continue.

And thus, Ororo would continue to search.

As orcher eyes darted round about, he perked his ears upwards and pressed onwards.

"Kiva..." He belted out as loud as he could, ears flickering to catch any sound or response that could stir.

With that same time span that Ororo spent blossoming into his full youth, Kiva had watched from behind a veil of secrecy, using the canopy of leaves to mask her presnece from both Lisani and his older brother. Something that the elder sibling once said to her seemed to have had more of an affect than she'd been aware of at the time, for as she grew older and wiser she also began to understand why the gods hid themselves from the eyes of most mortals. In that short time spent with the brothers she quickly found herself growing fond of them, and that was only acceptable to an extent. She realized this when she had the shocking realization that she was beginning to feel a sense of favoritism towards both.

As the "patron goddess" of the Unity Walkers it was her sacred duty to maintain peace within the pridelands. Her memories had returned, and with it a horrible realization. The last time she'd shown any sign of favoritism towards someone, it resulted in the pride breaking into two... Of course, that incident had merely been a misinterpretation on the pridemembers back then, but Kiva was not one to pass blame. It was sad, really, that even being the goddess of Unity she could not lavish affection on any one particular lion, not even either of the males that had captured her heart, for fear of rivalry breaking out. That was the reason that the priests always came in sets, twins, they always embodied heaven and Earth rather than one or the other, so neither side ever felt outnumbered or unrepresented.

It had pained her so, but from that night on she'd resigned to only speak with the priests when necessary, and those outside of the pride that she'd befriended. This didn't stop her from keeping watch, however.

It just so happened that she'd recently settled down to sleep. Knowing that the Pride usually kept within the safety of the valley

((Think of the pridelands like a big donught shape. Outer wall = Jungle, inner wall = Rock (there's a canyon and a few pathways that lead into the pridelands, but it's hidden by jungle and the entrance is easy to miss if you don't know where it is), then the inner-hole is the Valley where the pride sleeps/lives/hunts/etc. XD The top of the donught is where the valley connects directly with the rock wall though, and there's a ravine somewhere around there too. Ororo is in the "bottom" of the donught, on the outside perimeter.))

She'd choosen to rest near a small oasis within the oasis, settled gracefully on a rock-perch overlooking a small pool. Behind her a minature waterfall spilled from where the ravine ran it's course and bled down to this spot. She looked as though she were asleep, and truthfully she had been, but Ororo'Lisani's call had jolted her from slumber.

"Hm.... what...?" She asked, disoriented and lifting her head to gaze blearily around.

The passing months had been kind to her as well. Her figure was longer, taller, and leaner. She had all the curves of a growing lioness, and her wings had too increases in size, giving her a more glorious apperance than ever. Her bangs whisped over orchid eyes, which now surveyed the foilage with a tired gaze.

She was sure that she'd heard it this time. The voice that had by no stretch become unfamiliar, not even as it matured from the boyish alto to an richer adolescent tone.

The female panicked, rising to her paws as quick as her body would allow in an attempt to flee, but just as she would have leapt from her perch to escape, or hide herself, Ororo burst through the underbrush.

Kiva froze, heart hammering against her chest from the inside. There was something about seeing him again face to face, rather than watching over him from a distance, it made her feel helpless.

"Lisani..."

She didn't even realize she'd spoken, or rather- breathed his name just above a whisper.

His body suddenly became tense; stiff-legged and unmovable as his ocher eyes peered into her tranquil orbs. His striped ears perked upwards as his maw practically dropped.

Just as he had, Kiva had matured into a ravashing godess. Her wings were fuller with sleek feathers while she was lithe and beheld a sense of justice and compassion. Ororo could never forget her smile or let alone how she made him felt.

His heart began to race wildly as she deafly whispered his name; such a sweet sound that trailed from her lips was hardly forgotten.

Standing in front of her, the young adolescent began to conjure his courage. "Kiva," he softly greeted with a rush of adrenaline coursing through his veins. "I- I didn't mean to intrude, well- what I mean is...I've missed you."

She became somehow aware that he had taken a moment to admire her own changes, and felt her body heat under her fur. She only became further rooted to her spot when he spoke her name, however, and oh how torn she felt... It was undeniable that a part of her wanted to move down to ground level (not that she was that high up, jumping distance for either of them, at best), but both emotion and logic held her planted to the spot on which she stood. She even attempted to speak, maw visibly moving as though to open, but cutting short, and her eyes became pained. A second attempt and Kiva slowly found her words, trying to hold back tears. Why did she have to get so emotional at a time like this? Yet, it just wasn't fair...

"I.... I'm sorry..."

What else could she say...?

The young adult lowered her eyes, unable to look him in the eye, as he'd found himself so many weeks ago.
PostPosted: Fri Aug 18, 2006 3:22 pm

He nearly winced as he watched her; standing within the distance and looking down upon him. There was sadness that encircled her and, somehow, Ororo could sense that pain seemed to keep her at bay from him.

But why?

Was he ill or tainted by means oblivious to him?

But He had come so far, he had sought so long to see her. Yet she stood away from him as if he was best to be looked upon from afar, a temptation that, with better judgement, one would not seek for nor bade to be within range of.

Why did she not speak! Lisani watched with anticipation as no words drew out from her maw nor graced his ears with her pleasent voice. Again the depression and sensation of consuming sadness ached and tore at his heart. Was it because of him? Did he cause this?

He didn't know.

As her few words managed to stray from off her tounge and into the air, Ororo swilved his ears back and winced.

"You- you didn't do anything," he fumbled with his words as his shoulders slumped slightly. "But if I am the one that pains you then let me not burden you no more...I should go."

Turning back around as he pented up the tears and emotions that stormed within him, Lisani began to pad slowly away as minute unseen tears began to welt up within his ocher eyes.

Kiva wasn't sure what hurt worse, causing that look of despair on her friend's face (after feeling as though she'd built up his hopes so young), or knowing that it was probably for the best.

"Lisani... wait..."

The goddess leapt from her perch, fair paws landing on solid ground again with only the smallest of jolts to her frame. She looked up at his once retreating form and took a few heavy steps forward.

"It's not that simple..."
PostPosted: Fri Aug 18, 2006 4:19 pm

Glancing back as he furrowed his brows in confusion, Ororo narrowed his eyes slightly as he peered back towards the godess.

"Not that simple? Kiva...I don't know what the hell is happening!" He exclaimed as his once restraint emotions began bubbling forth; fear, uncetainty and despair overtaking him with a binding grip.

"Am I not worthy to stand before you? Am I a nobody now because I don't have any godly qualities or powers?" He closed his eyes and shook his head. Was he different? Or perhaps he had comitted an unknown sin that diiferenciated himself from her.

Sighing as he slumped his shoulders back, Lisani gave a dry chuckle.

"I'm not fit to be in your presence....I never was. It was just a game." Tears began to trail from his eyes as he shook his head; denial setting in to his every thought. "Searching for you....to find you, was a waste of time then, wasn't it."

That hurt... before she'd even had a chance to let the words slip past her lips that he was wrong, he'd uttered those words and beaten her to speaking. Kiva felt as if her world was starting to crumble right from under her paws. How could he think such things, and how could he say that...? .... Even if it might have been true... it was still a horribly hurtful thing to say.

Kiva felt as though a cold stone had settled in the pit of her stomach, and a knot had formed in her throat. She couldn't swallow, couldn't see past her tears anymore. This was only their second meeting, and they had gone from playmates to bitter.... she didn't know what to call it, but it was nothing like before.

Her wings and tail slowly eased to fall at her sides, ruining any remaining sense of holiness she might've added to the scene before. She looked now more like a dying bird than a goddess, or even a lioness.

"A w.... a waste....?" She repeated in question, voice quivering, rich with guilt and hurt. She hadn't meant to, but seeing his tears and listening to him talk like that just pushed button after button, building up her emotions higher than she thought possible until they had no where to go but out. She looked at him with pained eyes, suddenly feeling dangerously close to being overwhelmed with guilt. She could have just let him walk away and it wouldn't have come to this, maybe she should have.

Her ears twitched atop her head, then rocked backwards to rest against her head as her own tears began to fall freely.

"I guess Kiamba was right. I should never have stuck my nose into your lives, Mkodi knows you'd all be better off." She whispered, pained, tucking her wings in and turning to walk away. She didn't even feel like flying. She wasn't feeling very worthy of such a gift.

((Note, Mkodi is (yes, the mule account XD but also: ) the goddess above all gods and goddesses. I don't think she's RP'ed, but I think that the gods and goddesses know OF her.))

The spoken words that drew out from his own maw and that of Kiva's contorted and gnawed at his stomach. A sickly, ill feeling churned within him as he barely felt he could stand upon all fours. Ororo's ears flattened against his skull as his orcher orbs darted in every direction.

He could run away from this...he could escape and run away from this place!

But his paws did not move nor shuffle; Lisani's heart and overall being was weighed down with grief, pains, suffering and sorrow. Burdens toppled upon his shoulders and it could only be considered a miracle that he was able to stand before her without collapsing.

Such confused and mumbled words were not conveying the truth! She was not a waste of time! Lisani had sought her for a reason; to partake of her affection and to grow closer to her.

This was love!

But why could his heart not convey it in Lisani's means that could be understood?

He didn't know but he was certain that he could not run away from her.

"Don't you get it!" He cried as he padded towards her with a stiff-legged motion. "I love you! I would do anything to protect you...I would give my life up for you!"

He hesitated as his lips seemed to quiver along with the rest of his body. This was madness! But he had to tell her!

"Please...Kiva," he softly spoke as her drew closer to her with a hesitant step, "I would do anything to bare your love and to be yours. Don't run away...."

Kiva was set and ready to leave the scene, fearing that if she stayed she'd only make matters worse. Maybe this was a sign from the higher power that it was time for her to let go, to move on. If the Pride could reunify on their own without her help then what more was she needed for anyway? Especially when it was her interferance that drove them apart in the first place? She didn't want to become the wedge that drove two brothers apart, or the young adult away from the Pride, but she'd also not known any other home in such a long time that she couldn't bare to be apart from it. Why couldn't there just be a simpler solution?

Lisani's words did stop her though, but should they have?

She'd.... not known what it was to be loved by just one other individual before... certainly not a male, what.... what was she supposed to do, or say? Her eyes pleaded with him for an answer that he wouldn't know as she looked back at him in desperation. Her tone could easily be mistaken for acceptance, and hell, in that instant she felt herself caving in, craving comfort when all of her past lives all she'd ever done was give it.

"Ororo..."
PostPosted: Fri Aug 18, 2006 4:32 pm

Pawing at his face as tears trickled down his face and stained a small trail upon his fur, Ororo padded closer to her and rumbled in a soothing manner.

"Don't run. Then I'll have to set out on foot to find you again and confess to you my love, love that will never wither nor lose its flames of passion," he whispered softly as he nuzzled underneath her chin and brushed up against her.

The once confined emotions were breaking free; Lisani's heart was racing, pounding against his chest as a swell of emotion was overtaking him. He wanted to be with her. Ororo'Lisani wanted to not only be her mate but be a safehaven and her protector.

"Kiva..." he spoke with a delicate and tender voice as he settled his calm, ocher eyes upon her, "I may not have brawns or strength like my brother but I have strength of heart; to whomever you choose to partake of your love, know that I will always love you and that the deepset, strongest love comes from heart and this heart, my heart will belong to you."

A small smile trailed upon his maw as he pressed his nose gently against hers and, as he slowly drew his head away, planted a tender kiss upon it.

"Whever your go...whomever you choose, remember that you're never alone. I'll always be a listening ear if ever something happens."

Her tears started to melt just like that, easing from a constant flow to a small trickle, and finally ceasing only to leave faint evidence on her own fur in damp patches. His calm helped her calm, though the feeling of diminutive size remained, and she found herself drawing in closer, burying her face into his neck and mane with a pleading purr. He'd already broken the distance between them, but this was by far the closest and the most they'd touched between both meetings. The air around them was different as well, Kiva didn't want to think about the chioce she had ahead, or rather, she didn't want to think about what would happen when she spoke with Kiamba again. She would rather just focus on the here and now.

"I don't want to go anywhere, Lisani, I want to stay here with you."
PostPosted: Fri Aug 18, 2006 4:35 pm

A shiver shot through his body as Kiva buried her face into his neck and mane, his own purr echoing with a comforting rumble as he pulled her closer. This was love; For the first time, Ororo was experiencing what had always seemed fleeting and distant. Emotions were consuming him as he was being taken to a new high, a new sensation where he felt as if he was unbreakable.

As she spoke, a suttle smile drew upon his maw as he brushed up against her and threw his head across the back of her neck; rubbing up and down only to stir up her fragrance and scent round about him.

"Then stay," he replied with a tranquil nature as he rumbled with a pleasing sensation. "I will do anything for you....I would give my life to protect and honor you." Withdrawling his head from off her, his ocher eyes drifted upwards back towards her with a calm, serene nature. "Tongue nor heart can concieve your beauty...nor give such a fitting name for thee."

Her body warmed with a blush of modesty at his words. Funny how she was used to such praise from Mteule and Mteuli, but hearing it from Ororo'Lisani managed to stir such reactions out of her.

The vibration of his purr through their bodies urged her to relax, having a soothing affect. Her haunshes pulled forward and settled down to rest on the ground, she rubbed her head against his as the emotions began to override her earlier sense of upset.

"You're such a charmer." She mock-scolded, blushing.
