Just when Peri had thought everything going so well and smoothly as he got most of his classes under way, they had to throw him this kink. They'd just informed him that one of the children had a hybrid dragon and that he needed to have his class soon.
So now Perilas was staring at the board. At the top, he'd written 'Silver x Frost'. Under 'Silver' he'd written: 'nonviolent', 'likes mountains and clouds', and 'hate injustice and cruelty' while under 'Frost' he'd written: 'likes dark and cold', 'lesser intelligence', and 'frosty blast breath'. Now, how exactly those might affect this hybrid, he had no idea.

Claws scrambled along the tile of the hall as the dragon attempted to turn the corner. The result was the clatter of nails catching nothing but slick tile and a thunk as the hybrid slid into the wall.
This was an obvious sign that racing in the halls didn't work as well as it did outside. Especially when Ymir was getting big enough that he might be able to do some damage now. He had to hunch down to be as small as possible to get through some of the doors already.
Still the dragon hadn't made any new holes, and his usual companion was waiting for him a few steps ahead. Less weight had allowed the boy to keep his balance enough not to slide on the tile and it was obvious he wanted to keep going. They had a class to attend, something regarding learning about Ymir. Of course, by now Keanu believed he knew the dragon better than anyone, he lived with him afterall.
Still it didn't take long for the race to begin again, and when they reached the actual room the entrance was less than grateful. First a rather loud slam as Keanu hurried in first to get out of the way of the barrel dragon who first slid past his target briefly before clattering as well, giving a loud deep throated grunt that was more of a friendly greeting than anything.
Both sets of eyes didn't take long to find their newest teacher and for the ever confident voice to call out introductions before anything else could be said. "Hiya I'm Keanu, and this is Ymir we're here for-" It was here that he spotted the board, but more precisely a fun fact under the frost section. "Hey Ymir's not dumb!"

One eyebrow arched as the snow leopard boy scurried into the classroom, followed by the blur of a sliding dragon passing the door. The hybrid then entered the classroom after his bonded child, who immediately spoke up, introducing himself and his dragon. Perilas blinked as the boy paused in midsentence, only to exclaim that his dragon wasn't stupid. Oh. Joy. This was going to be fun...
"Hello, Keanu and Ymir. I'm Mr. Coleman." The name still sounded a bit wierd to him. But that how teachers were called... "And I'm sure that Ymir isn't dumb. In fact, he may even take after silvers and be one of the more intelligent breeds.
"Hybrid dragons are interesting, for they can be the most varied of all dragons. The objective of this class is to teach you about both types of dragons that Ymir is a blend of so that you can have some idea of what he might like or be able to do."
He seemed to be getting a bit better at this teacher thing, Peri was. "So, to start out with, do you have any questions?"

The dragon made a huffing sound shortly before the man spoke up. most things didn't like being called stupid, and even if he hadn't yet learned to read the scrawls people tended to make he knew Keanu could. Still the word's of the man seemed to satisfy the creature and if not that the gentle pat on his head did. One thing on that board was very true. Ymir wasn't a violent dragon, clumsy at times, but he'd never hurt someone on purpose.
Keanu seemed to accept the words as well and lightly patted the dragon on the head. "Yea, he's really smart." Or at least in Keanu's opinion he was, but that opinio was rather biased. It was, afterall, his partner they were talking about. "But I dunno about questions. Ymir's always with me, I'd think I know everything about him by now, right?" He added, eyeing the dragon. The mixed breed was old enough now that he'd been able to ride him once after Mr. Rikery had given a brief explaination on flying, they'd been together a while. But then again, what had it said under the frost section? Well aside from that insult about his dragon being dumb...
"Then again... I didn't know a frost dragon hide icey breath..." The boy's attention quickly turned to the white creature beside him curiously. "If you can blow out ice couldn't we have used that this summer to stay cool?" Certainly he knew that Ymir liked the cold. Maybe not the bit about darkness, but thena gain Ymir did seem happier in the night. He'd just assumed it was because it was always cooler at night. Most of the things regarding the silver he'd realized on his own. Ymir liked getting along with people, to see things go well. And he seemed to like it when they'd been up high in the air, so that all made sense.
Ymir tilted his head to one side at the question before looking at the teacher. Then giving a bit of a snort. "No can." He simply replied quite simply. He was still picking up more of the language and trying to get the sounds down. Thus simple short words worked better for him at the moment. But it was true enough, as far as the dragon knew he couldn't do anything of the sort. How would he know if something liek that had to do with age, or not? He was just as young as the boy near him. All he knew was that he couldn't do it now.
"Not at all then..?" Keanu's ears drooped slightly at the notion. That one thing might have solved a lot of issues the pair had with the sun. Well he's just have to make do. "And it's not something you'd have to learn to do right?" The question was directed more at the teacher at this point, seeing as Ymir had already said he couldn't. Besides, the teacher had asked if he had questions.

Peri gave a mental sigh of relief as the two calmed down. The man started to say something after Keanu stated that he'd know everything already, but was stopped by the boy admitting he didn't know that frost dragons could use a frost attack.
He listened to the short conversation between the pair, which ended with a question directed at him. "Well, Ymir would be getting old enough to be close to being able to use the attack. Though it's more of a special acid-type spray than ice. He would be able to figure out how to do the attack himself, though it would take practice for him to improve on the attack."

Both of the pair looked up at the man as he spoke, for a moment there was hope and then. Nope. No using that as a personal air conditioner.
"Guess we'll just have to keep finding shade then." The boy mumbled quietly glancing at the dragon. "But I guess that could be useful if you can learn to use it. It could definitely stop a monster from hurting someone." He added with a nod. "Youll have to practice that to get good at it." The boy knew very well that nothing came easy, you had to work to get good at things. Certainly he worked very hard to be a good hero, practicing anytime he could to be better with the sword, any fighting style he knew. He'd been practicing that pouncing thing too, the one that Lilly had said was a good trait.
Flying... well he liked flying, that wasn't really considered practice. Though da really would have prefered he didn't go flying as much as he did. Always complaining about a heart attack.
"Do good. Stop bad man." Ymir stated as he head bobbed a bit. Doing good meant he might get a scratch under the chin, or attention. Little kids liked petting him, maybe he could save little kids. He wouldn't have minded that. But now that he thought about it... The dragon tilted his head watching the teacher a moment before giving another light-hearted grunt and stepping forward to nudge him.
Obviously he really didn't hold grudges if he was already ready to beg for a bit of attention. "Scratch." He stated in almost an order and less of a request.
Keanu didn't even blink as the dragon pulled his usual attempt to garner attention. It always happened when they met knew people who seemed neutral enough to put up with it. "Can Ymir do anything else that well... He can't do yet, but might be able to do later? Stuff that could help fight bad guys?" The sow leopard was ready to admit that maybe this Coleman guy knew a few things he didn't, but only things Ymir couldn't do yet. And knowing tings in advance wasn't a bad thing, so he might as well listen.

Perilas grinned at the pair. They seemed to get along rather well. Much better than that bird boy and his gold. Reminded him of the snow owl kid (what had been his name again? oh well) and the frost dragon. Maybe it was a frost dragon personality? Or just a snow creature one? Or a combination?
Peri's thoughts were interrupted as Ymir came up and request a scratch. That was a first. None of the other dragons had come close to him. Some hadn't even acknowledged his presence! The man reached out to work his fingers on the dragon's head.
He kept the motion going as Keanu asked a question. "Well, another neat thing that silver dragons can do is cloudwalk. They can walk on clouds or fog like it's land."

The pair were really the opposite of Paxton and his dragon. Keanu had insisted on having the dragon closeby since it was born, and certainly it had made them close. It likely had something to do with Ymir's like for people's comany. He was so used to having the leopard around that having another person was just adding to it. Nothing out of the ordinary.
Certainly he wasn't shy though, something he'd likely picked up from the boy. The dragon gave a happy grunt as the man complied, holding his head steady as the man continued to pet him. Just so long as he didn't try to mess with the headfin things would be fine. "Good."
"Cloudwalk..?" He stated quietly after the explaination. That could definitely be useful, it was nice and cool up high int he sky, that might work for hiding durring the summer too. "So Ymir can probably cloudwalk?" He asked grinning and glancing at the dragon. "That sounds cool, we should try that sometime. Don't you think?" Which meant he would have liked to go try it now, however it wasn't god to run out on a class, besides he might have more to tell him. Obviously there was quite a bit he still needed to learn.

"It's possible." Oh how parents must love Peri. Here he was giving kids ideas on dangerous attacks their dragons could do and then in one of his later classes, he was teaching the dragons those attacks. Fun, eh?

Raja would certainly have a new teacher to hate. He'd already found he disliked that Lilly woman after Keanu's happy babbling about those classes and chasing that small dragon around. However, telling his son that his dragon could walk on clouds and chuck globs of frozen acid, or whatever it was, would have tipped the scales farther than Lilly had so far. Certainly Keanu would be running around testing these things soon. And something was bound to come crashing down on the house, be it acid or a dragon who found out that slouds aren't solid enough to walk on.
"Mmm, I bet he can. Ymir's great like that." He called confidently with a nod. Yes, Ymir would be good at both of those things. He'd just train to do them well like he did with his things he learned.
Ymir didn't mind the idea of walking on clouds, certainly being up in the cool air was better than down in the heat. It wasn't quite winter yet. "Cloud good too." He mumbled in his somewhat broken english. It would have been far easier to simply speak his usual tongue, but then none of them would have understood.

Peri chuckled. "Well, if you don't have any other questions, then the class is over." He could see the boy's eagerness to attempt some of the things talked about. Eh, well, none of it was too dangerous. Of course, that was coming from the man who daily fed D-corp's twenty-some-odd dragons and still managed to stay alive.

The boy nodded a bit obviously rather transparent in his wishes. "Nope, nothing else. I'm sure I can find out the other things with Ymir if there is more." He replied quickly continuing to bob his head a few seconds longer before noticing that Ymir hadn't budged quite yet. "Ymir, come on. Don't you want to see if you can walk on clouds!"
The dragon gave what to him was a sigh, and to the rest of the world a grunt and a snort's offspring. Before giving the teaching an affectionate headbutt and heading for the door after Keanu started moving for it. "Bye."
"Later, Mr. Coleman!" Was the last thing said after the dragon scrunched down again to fit out of the door and the boy followed. Oh yes, Raja was definitely going to hate this new teacher. Which meant Keanu would adore him.
As for Ymir? Anyone willing to give him a good scratch on the head and didn't try to hurt anyone was fine with him.
