Hello, i'm new to gaia and obviously to this guild.
I've been to otakon twice. I was there several years ago when the used about half the convention center, and this past year where they used about 80% of it. I think they still have plenty of room to expand, they just need to learn to partition it better.
This past year I went completely insane and my cohort from here, Jifty, talked me into acting like the crazy old man dancer from the simpsons. Yes, I joined the sign craze, and donned a sign that said "Will Drop Pants and Sing for Hugs." The staff eventually asked me to stop as it was a silppery slope of legality.
Although, Jifty did catch some pictures.

Hello! I am NOT new to Gaia. But Otakon last year was my first con ever. I was going to go 3 years ago but mum wouldnt have it.
Anyway..I went and it was fun.
I'm 18..and i;ve been on Gaia since Feb 23, 2003. I went to the Gaian meeting at Otakon and it was so fun..I was punched.. xd
Anyway..my name is April and I have an intrest in the Artist Ally. I handel money well and spend it even better.. gonk
I dunno what else to say..o_o

First time to Otakon: 2004 (Yes, I'm a n00b.. -___- I guess I fit in the noob category, anyway, although I wasn't very noobish [my definition of a noob is someone who acts like they don't have any sense when they're in an unfamiliar situation.. but I keep to myself all the time anyway.]
Actually, my first Otakon experience was more surreal than it was fun. I spent alot of the time just studying the cosplayers and passers-by... It was amusing, though, to see the non-Otakongoers walking down the street next to people decked out in anime-fied T-shirts and elaborately dressed cosplayers..)
Main point of interest at Otakon: The Artist Alley.. or the Gaming Room (is that what it's called? I want to play DDR if I can...)... or... the panels. +__+ but I guess I'm interested in all of it..
Desired future occupation/profession: (I'm adding this just because ^^) Translator (German, French, Korean.. maybe Russian if I ever learn all of it), Illustrator (I use this loosely; children's book illustration would do just fine, or maybe game illustration [if that's what you'd call it]..), Pixel..ler (meh, I don't even know if this is a profession, but if people are still using pixels for their games and stuff when I'm old enough to do that, I'd be more than willing to do it), Magazine writer/editor (for a magazine like the National Geographic.. or a music magazine ^^), or a physicist (I dunno.. I'm just really interested in physics)

Anyhow, I've been on Gaia since early June of 2003, and, though I suppose I haven't posted much, or made any big contributions toward the site much, I nevertheless feel very at home here..
Last year was my very first Otakon, and.. well, I guess it was sort of a waste of a first time, in my opinion. In any case, I'm hoping that this time around will be at least ten times better. I still don't get alot of how things are worked, so.. I'd love it if you all could help me (Indirectly, of course. A simple thread would surely suffice.), because I want to make the most of it. I'm mostly interested n the Artist Alley, although the whole thing is pretty exciting in itself. It'd be nice to meet some new people, too.. And go to the Gaia meeting! (I did see Lanzer in the Artist Alley, but I didn't have the heart to bother him.. he looked ready to drop dead or something.. poor guy..)
Oh yeah! I almost forgot.. My name's Jen and I'm 13 years old.

I'm pretty new to Gaia, and very new to this guild. My age... well, my birthday is in my profile. sweatdrop Hehe. ^_^
I've been to 3 Otakons, I missed this year's, though. It wasn't voluntarily! xp I'm definitely planning on going to Otakon 2005! I was so mad that I couldn't go this year. I've been to several cons, but the main ones I go to are Otakon and Animazement. I don't really go to cons for one specific thing. Usually I just like to walk around and see the costumes, buy lots of stuff in the dealer's room, that sort of thing. I'm not a huge cosplayer, although I'd love to do so. If I could sew. sweatdrop
I'm looking forward to the Gaia get-together though! That should most definitely be interesting. ^_^

Hewwo, I am Blackie, have been on Gaia for over a year (I thinkies 3nodding ). Hobbies: ANIME ^^! I've recently been made the Head of The Papayas, the anime sub-section of the art club at my school (right know we have 8 members ^^).
Last year was my first Otakon, and it rocked ^^! I cosplayed as Tasuki on Friday, but wasn't there for long/missed the Gaia meeting b'cuz my friend & her family are NEVER ready on time whenever we make plans. Saturday I was Amiboshi and my friend was Suboshi, we became part of a Fushigi Yuugi photoshoot. Sunday, I was Hikitsu, friend was Tomite from Fushigi Yuugi. We didn't get recognized much, except for by a Suboshi, but we gots our piccies taken a few times b'cuz we posing so our moms could take pictures & random people started taking pictures ^^.

Hello there everybody! Pieaholic here! I've been with Gaia for over a year now having heard of it at Otakon '03 and joining a bit after. I'm really big into only 2 things at Otakon, AMVs and LARP(which I notice there isn't a topic on eek ). Anyway I'm 16 years old and have gone to Otakon since '03, since that was my first chance to go. I spend over 90% of my time there doing LARP because LARP is fun. For those that haven't heard of LARP(shame on you) it stands for Live Action Roleplaying. So take an RPG of seemingly random anime and videogame characters and put them all into one big RPG. In '03 I was Seymour from FFX and in '04 I was Jubei from Ninja Scroll, next year I'm hoping for me and a few friends to meet up there and form the .hackers from .hack//Legend of the Twilight, I of course will be Shugo having the most LARP experience(most of them haven't been to Otakon before). Want to know more about me, just ask. I may not tell you what you want to know though.

Can't think of any non sailormoon families. Went as Utena a few years also as Selfie. Maybe i'll come up with something. if anyone has ideas send em my way by means of gaia mail. ... thats all i guess

I'm quasi-new to Gaia (been here for 2 months) but not a stranger to Otakon..I have been attending Otakon for 5 years now..in fact, 3 of those years (this is my thirds year), I have been a member of Otakon staff. smile
Name: Robin (the only Robin on staff..and if you are a member of the Otakon BBS, yes, I AM who you think I am. domokun lol)
Age: Oh boy..I'm going to be 24 next Monday. sweatdrop
Hobbies: Aside from working for Otakon, anime, j-rock, manga, and all things related to Japanese and Asian culture, I love to read, write poetry, work at my usual job, Gaia, and many more things.
Position on Otakon staff: Assistant to the Chief of Staff (second year for this) and BBS Moderator...as for now..I tend to have a million more places I go to help out between now and teh con.
I found out about this Guild through the Otakon BBS..I was slightly hesitant at first to join, but after exchanging a couple PMs w/Tamoko, I decided to join. smile
I can offer some advice about the con, answer some questions you may have reguardiing Otakon (the two question I can not answer are about people's registration and who the guests will be) and address any concerns pertaining to Otakon.

No just kidding, it's kelcy *nods*
I've gone to... er.. Otakon since... well I really don't know. Me thinks since 2002. I cosplayed as Galaxia in 2003 and selphie Tilmitt in 2004. I plan on doing Haku this year! I'll be going with a Sakura, Ino, Temari, Anko, and of course master Zabuza! (though if he knew I just wrote that it'd probably freak him out, heh).
Obviously my favorate thing at Otakon is cosplaying and cosplayers. I also participate in LARP and hang out at the video game room. I kick butt in super smash brothers! though I missed the tournament last year *cries*
Outside of gaia I'm a relatively normal 16 year old who draws, plays video games, reads, does work, goes to school, the usual. I plan on being a professional animator, manga artist, video game designer, because thats what I enjoy (but it seems I have alot of competition gonk ). I have a pet turtle (whom I'm babysitting) and am obsessed with pirates.

Hobbies: i guess i'm just your usual anime fan. i like watching anime, listening to j-pop & j-rock, playing ddr, watching my shows (including charmed, star trek, family guy, etc.), playing the piano and singing, eating all kinds of foreign foods, playing with my gerbils smile , and of course hanging out with friends. and more 3nodding . an interesting fact about me is that i started my school's first anime club.
Lesse what else.. this will be my first year attending otakon but i'm not new to the convention scene. i've been to animazement (in my home state north carolina) for the past 4 years i think. i've cosplayed as asuka from eva, naru from love hina, kirika from noir, and sakura from naruto. this year i'm doing ayane from dead or alive and another costume (yet to be decided) for animazement and 2 more costumes (also yet to be decided) for otakon! I CAN'T WAIT!!

hmmm... now I've been going to otakon with a group of friends since... 2003. I went as Recca from Flame of Recca in 2003 and Koganai Kaoru From Flame of Recca in 2004.
Going this year as Guts/Gatts/Gattsu the Black Swordsman from Berserk.
Favorite thing about Otakon is either the Gaming room (I almost won the SC2 tounament in 2003... damn your slow attacks Nightmare!!), Or the Numerous amounts of Forums and panels that happen.
Hobbies: Drawing, writing, inventing, computer building.
