I've been looking forward to this game and it comes out today! I don't know about the gameplay itself, but the graphics are great. Also, Gackt (one of my favorite J-Pop artists) sings the theme song.
Here's a basic storyline:
"From here, a hunt is taking place over the entire world. For the worthless prey, massacre and atrocities are planned..."
Three years after Final Fantasy VII, a mysterious group suddenly surfaces to raid a town. They are a group of soldiers known as the Deep Ground Soldiers (DG Soldiers), created by the late President Shin-Ra, and trapped under Midgar due to the Meteor Crisis.
An optional character of the original game, Vincent Valentine, personally has some connection with this series of events, but the reason is unknown. What awoke in the underground in these three years? And what is the tragedy that is beginning? When the world is engulfed by darkness, his handgun will play the dirge...

Well all i know is that it's a shooter, and i thought it was gonna be another RPG but the designers said that they wanted to prove that they can make more than RPG's.

I have it. It's amazing. Vincent is sexy.
*ahem*
I got Dirge of Ceberus for my birthday (Aug. 22nd) and it is god. I love it so much. And the ability to customize your guns is sooooo much fun. *eye twitch* Right now I'm on the sixth level, I'm a slow gamer, but this game is immensly fun. So very fun... :3

I got Dirge of Ceberus for my birthday (Aug. 22nd) and it is god. I love it so much. So very fun... :3 I want iiiiit. ;-; I haven't been able to get it yet. I asked for it for my birthday which isn't till the 14th... but still! XD I'm really looking forward to playing it. What kinda excites me is that I'm learning about mythology in my language arts class right now and we were reading this story with Cerberus... So I thought of this game. XD; Eheh, just in case you weren't aware (or something?), it should be "VII (7)" instead of "XII (12)." Just thought I'd let you know...

I got it yesterday for my birthday. =D Only got to play it tonight though. For thirty minutes. It was on Hard and I wasn't sure what the controls were so I died quite a few times. XD

XD I finished it awhile ago, but I died a few times as well.^^'' By the looks of the ending, there may be a sequel...I hope it's a movie.

i really wanted to play it, then three of my friends got it, and now one of them is going to let me borrow it, but he's charging me. that sucks, but i still get to play it biggrin

Dazzelbrush What would you lot rate it out of 10, and did you lot buy yours in the UK or US, because im not sure if i can buy it over here yet lol. I'd say... Well, I would say 10, but that's just because I love Vincent (he's so COOL xD). As for the actual game... I'd say 9. It has a nice story so far and the gameplay is interesting. Though it can be annoying. I got mine in the US...

I didn't think it was that great... It was good, but not great...
The graphics were AWESOME though o_O Every time a cg scene came on my jaw dropped. I'm also a big Gackt fan, so I really enjoyed the music ^^
I was really disapointed that it was a shooter game though... It just felt wrong at first ^^: It was too easy... I'm generally mediocre at shooter games but even I solved this in one sitting.

I would rate....9, too. The graphics are amazing and the plot is steady, although it can get confusing. I love how Gackt's in the game.^^

Ha... I thought that was Gackt. I was thinking of buying it just for that, but I've heard the gameplay is pretty average since it has the same enemies and AI throughout the game... If i want a game wityh Gackt I'll go out and find a used copy of Bujingai or something, even if he didn't do music for it as far as I know.

I completed the game a couple of weeks ago and it was such fun, a little hard in places but an awesome game still lol the after-game missions are quite difficult as well sweatdrop . Are they making anymore FF games??
