This is the subforum for all your roleplaying needs.
Create a new roleplay or join an existing one. Your choice. You can even do both if you'd like!
You can create a roleplay based on existing books/movies/whatever (harry Potter, LOTR, ect), however, I don't want there to be ONLY non-original roleplays here. You're writers, surely you can think of something.
No godmodding and all that. (This includes making things/giving your character powers that weren't mentioned in the profile just to fit a certain situation when a roleplay involves magic, or having an absolutely perfect character in general who always wins and always has exactly what s/he needs at the exact right time and always gets the girl/guy and always wins and yadda yadda. Ifif you are unclear if your character is too perfect, PM me and I'll let you know. I'll probably let you know anyway, in my own PM to you. If I do PM you and you don't change your ways, I may be forced to ban you from RPing (just RPing, not the whole guild).)
Your roleplay, your rules. So long as your rules comply with mine.
I will stress this now. PG-13!!! Not even whitetexted over PG-13 posts. If it's over PG-13, the post will be deleted and the poster warned. I will not have my guild deleted. I will take no chances.

General guidelines for RPing
For those of you that are new to the world of RPs, I figured I'd throw in a little how-to for you.
1. DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT use astericks, dashes, carrots, or anything else to show actions. And put quotation marks when your character is speaking.
2. Show actions in the third person, not the first.
3. Do not use emoticons unless OOC.
4. Show out of character (OOC) using something. ((Double parenthesis)) or [brackets] work well. You can be creative as long as people will be able to tell that you are OOC.
5. Don't overuse OOC. It's roleplaying, not chatting.
6. Put a subject in your post, and proceed pronouns with names!
7. Be realistic and be fair. No godmodding, remember?
8. Consistency is a very good thing.
9. Please look over your posts to check for missing quotation marks and use spell check if you have it.
Your example of a good RP post:
Avatre jumped as the eyes of the bear flashed brightly after the last fall of the knocker. Soren, just as startled, shrieked in alarm flying up and landing on the top of Avatre's staff. The door swung open, but Avatre hesitated, almost scared to enter.
Soren hopped onto her shoulder and nudge the back of her neck urging her forward. Still standing in the doorway, Avatre just studied the dark entryway, looking for any trace of movement on the inside. "I-I don't know Soren.. you think it is okay? Since the door just.. I mean.. Is it possible for a door to open by itself?" With a low whistle in response.. Avatre stepped inside.

Your example of bad RP posts:
-walks into room- hi how are you today? -sits down- (Broken: Rule 1)
Walks into room. "Hi how are you today?" Sits down. (Broken: 6)
She walks into the room and takes off her coat. "Hi there mrgreen " (Broken: 3 and 6)
I walk into the room and ask the person next to me "What did I miss?" (Broken: 2)
