Since Maeve had hatched he'd been spending more time around the house and less time wandering through the woods... Especially after her little run-in with whatever it was that had left her too frightened to leave his side. He had done his best to reassure her that all would be wll though and, eventually, she'd left him alone.

The little ones grew up oh-so-fast.

He shuddered at that thought as he wound his way through the woods. He was too young to be getting sentimental about tiny usts that weren't biologically his. As far as he was concerned, he was far too young to have biological bratlings as well. Dealing with the wee ones of others was one thing... But your own spawn? He'd seen what it had done to the dragon. No thanks, bub.

It was with that thought now cleansed from his mind that he paused by the lake not far from the cabin he'd been told to visit, eyeing himself in it carefuly for a moment. Was that a grey hair?

No. Not at all. Moving on.

It was a beautiful day of late summer, blue skies, slightly humid, with a breeze to relieve the heat. It was the kind of day that Scion hated above all others (save perhaps even muggier ones), the kind of day that made the white Daewl long for the sharp bite of snow, the dark skies of winter. However, despite the perfect weather, he was in a surprisingly good mood thanks to the efforts of his son.

Spawn, or Klu'chud, to use his proper title, had hatched a few days previously and, despite Scion's inhibitions of such an event, had performed swimmingly. Indeed, within only minutes of his birth he had won his father's affections, if only because he had unintentionally managed to make the fragments of his own egg shell spontaneously combust. At present, the child was perched alongside the lake near the cabin that was his home, staring into the water with a look of intense concentration upon his face, though only bubbles surfaced.

Nearby, also in his Jivvin form, Scion rested, proudly watching from where he lay. As if on a whim, both Jivvins looked up, glancing down the shore to the unmistakable form of another of their kind. Quickly losing interest, Klu'chud returned his attention to the water, but the white Daewl rose languidly to his feet, stretching out before trotting down the bank to meet the Afya. "Aaralyn? You have accepted Zelda's offer to come visit, then? I have notified her of your arrival," he chirped as an afterthought. And he had.

Zelda was only slightly alarmed at their son's preformance, but brushed it off to it being the son of two Daewls, one of which being Scion. That was explanation enough.

Cleaning up after lunch, she finished up the dishes in a jiffy once Scion called. The apron was removed and hung up properly before she made her way to the lake, braiding her hair back magically as she walked.

A smile graced her face as she saw who it was, and she gave a polite wave of greeting before turning her attention towards Spawn. "Chud, come say hello. This is Aaralyn, and he is not to be set on fire... Or anything else that's painful." She absently sent him an additional thought, But you can put him in a dress, if you wish.

He nodded slowly his acknowledgement to Scion's words before adding his own words to that motion. "Aye, of course, it was your invitation as well if I recall correctly." A slight smile pulled at the corners of his muzzle. "Ah, there she is... The lady of the house. Good day to you, Zelda."

His golden eyes then drifted towards the young one who was being introduced to him. His brow raised slightly at the '... is not to be set on fire'. No. No flaming Aaralyn. That would be dreadful. "Hello to you as well, Chud." He glanced up to the proud parents. "Congradulations."

"Once upon a time," he acknowledged with a nod, smiling slyly. "But you accepted the offer only after you spoke with my Zelda, and thus is was her offer that you accepted, not mine." He lifted his eyes towards the Daewl in question as she approached, meanwhile transforming to Fourth and waving the Ust over as well.

Though he did not seem terribly pleased by the invitation, Chud obediently abandoned his perch by the water in favor of pacing over to join his parents. The corners of his mouth twitched in a smirk with Zelda's words, but he said nothing on the subject, instead nodding calmly in greeting.

And all the while Scion was positively brimming with excitement, clearly attempting to restrain himself from raving on about something or another. He appeared to have relaxed a great deal since...well, ever. His attire was much more casual, if still the same brilliant white as his fur, and his manner was certainly much less professional. His did manage some restraint, however. "We are very proud. You have come alone?"

"He is alone," Zelda confirmed simply, giving no reasoning for her conclusion except that it was her who came to it, and therefore, it was correct. Within a few strides, she had joined her mate, sliding an arm around his waist in a fluid set of movements.

It was a beautiful day, but it wasn not winter. The femme Jivvin had noticed quite acutely Scion's change in attitude, probably far better than any other Jivvin had or would. She knew the reasoning behind it, and while she was glad for the relaxing, something about it didn't seem right.

Either share, or calm down my Scion. You look as if you will pee your pants at any moment, she thought as she sent a smirk in his direction. Though it had been a joke, it had stemmed from truth and also held true as an honest suggestion.

"Aaralyn, I hope it was at least somewhat difficult to find your way here," the Daewl said with a pleasant smile.

"Aye." He nodded a confirmation to Zelda's words. "I thought it best to leave the two usts in my care with the dragon... One took a rather bad fright due to a newly grown bratling at the Center." A slow shake of his head was given as his thoughts drifted momentarily to Jhadia.

His thoughts were better off left elsewhere.

"I might have missed your home had Scion not come to greet me, Lady Zelda. T'was the lake I recalled from a meeting months ago." Another slight nod was given as he sat back on his haunches, tail wrapping around his paws, watching the male and female. They seemed quite content with one another... And their 'child' as well. It almost felt wrong to interrupt.
