i first saw this on the LJ astrology community.


it's an exercise from the book Darkside Zodiac. you are on a boat, in addition to one person from each sign (so 13 people in total). yourself included, there's room for 3-5 people on the lifeboat. who do you pick to save? my choices:

this is just for fun! don't take it too seriously. xp

Aries: too abrasive and bossy. off you go.

Taurus: no. might be prone to work for the group and remain practical, but too much of a chance to get lazy and/or bull-headed. adios.

Gemini: chatty, abstract, and theoretical. to the fishes!

Cancer: as far as being the mother of the zodiac goes, i'm pretty awful at comforting people, so it'd be best to get another one of us onboard. that, and i could have someone to relate to.

Leo: ego and drama. off with ye.

Virgo: yes. practical, willing to help out others, and not totally cold-hearted.

Libra: yes. fairness, diplomacy, and so on.

Scorpio: probably likely to be a source of drama, so no. at best, will just write dark goth poetry about how everyone's doomed.

Sag: yes. not bossy or vain like Leo, but it's good to have some fiery resolve, and the Libra would be around to handle the dread case of "foot in mouth disease," if and when it should appear.

Capricorn: i'm not too fond of Cappies myself, or at least the ones i've met. probably TOO practical and level-headed to have around in a dramatic crazy situation like this. =/ off they go.

Aquarius: yes. i like them, and all of the ones i've met have been smart, and would be pretty set on doing what was best for everyone. they'd probably come up with ideas no one else would think of, either.

Pisces: probably not very good in a survival situation. bye bye!

Aries: Strong willed, but too bossy. Sorry.
Taurus: Practical! Determined! Will work for the sake of others! Ruler of the throat and thus good at calling for help! Get on the boat! gonk xp
Gemini: Friendly and awesome and smart and I really wish I could take you, but there's other signs who would be better at surviving...
Cancer: I like Cancers, too, really. You won't be of much help, though. Sorry.
Leo: Will try to lead, might not do such a great job. Good luck to you, Leo. Bye.
Virgo: Why not? They'll help with fixing up details in the big plan.
Libra: Sure. They get to pass out the rations and settle arguments.
Scorpio: Scorpios rock alot. But...I don't need them to rock my boat, so...Bye.
Sagittarius: Cacophany.
Capricorn: Might be helpful with making descisions and sticking with the plan. On the boat.
Aquarius: Will help all the more practical and unimaginitive signs begin their planning. Get on.
Pisces: Too moody. Will spend all day in dreamland. Sorry.

Me choices:

Aries: I have very good chemistry with Aries guys (not girls) so I will keep them on the boat. I admire their courage and leadership. Just don't shout at me. I hate it when Aries talk in their angry loud voice.

Taurus: I like them Taurus. They're kind, gentle and sweet. But seriously, I don't think we need them on the boat. I mean, they can't cook, can't make decisions and the only thing they seem to be good at is eating (gourmet food only) and gardening. Now we don't need gardeners do we? Off you go!

Gemini: All Geminis are my best friends. Though I have no idea what they're gonna do on the ship! Bye, Gems... crying

Cancer: Cancers can cook! And generally understanding and tenacious. If somebody gave up on their survival, at least I know Cancers won't. So I'd like to have them around, even if it's only to give me comfort.

Leo: Other than Gems, Leo are my best friends too. They might be useful for leadership but I'm afraid they'd act all flamboyant and hog the spotlight or something. So they have to go.

Virgo: Of course we need them, Virgos! What could we do without them? They'll help analyze the problem. catch the smaller details we tend to miss in our plans and they don't mind working for the good of others. Yes, we need them!

Libra: No, Libras are useless in a boat. I mean we don't need them to look pretty and all. Besides that, they hate getting dirty and we don't have a grand piano or parlour for them to lounge about in a boat. So off they go!

Scorpio: No. Alll they'll do is analyze what everyone's hidden motives are and do some useless psychological analysis even when we're going to drown. Because you see, they're not afraid of water or death so they won't be very useful in helping. Bye bye!

Sag: Very funny, witty and humourous. We need them to lighten up the mood! Even if we're all doomed, Sag can somehow laugh at it and at least we can all die happy.

Capricorn: I have a few really good Cap friends. But if you single out Cap energies alone, they're not too useful around the boat. I mean, we have no ladders for them to climb unless they want to climb up the sail which I have no idea what's the point of it is. So sorry, Cappies, you have to go.

Aquarius: Hey! Maybe they can assemble the radio or invent some communication device and we'd all be saved! Oh yes, we need them Aquarius...

Pisces: I know they have an affinity with the sea and everything but when it comes right down to it, Pisces require others to depend on and in this situation, we can't afford that so they'll have to go. Bye!

Phew! That's finally done and it was fun. ^_^

My choices? Aries, Cancer, Virgo, Sagittarius and Aquarius.

And Taurus, Pisces, and Gemini are basically doomed. gonk
