I highly recommend seeing Fearless if you're a martial arts film fan. It's definitely one of Li's best efforts in a while and any fan who's only aware of his american films are doing themselves an injustice for not seeing Li and Yu in their natural environments away from Hollywood's detrimental influence (forget that director Ronny Yu made Bride of Chucky and Freddy vs Jason, Yu is responsible for Bride with White Hair! If that doesn't mean anything to you, I truly pity you). What's more, it's a surprisingly classy looking film, while cinematography usually not being a focus in most martial arts films, really looks surprisingly good in Fearless.

Tony Jaa's new movie "The Protecter" will be coming out sep. 8th, but I'm gonna miss that too. cry

Seen it already..have it on import dvd.
It's good, but not his greatest triumph. It has all the values and all the traditions of many of Jet Li's past films. Essentially it's the prequel to Fist of Legend.
The ending is righteous, in all the correct ways, but the movie just didn't leave me feeling as good as say, Fist Of Legend did, or some of his older movies.
It is a well-made movie. The story is well-written, and the themes of chinese philosophy and buddhism are prevalent. It's actually a really gritty, real story for once about a hero who can't really distinguish between good and bad. His moral stance is not clear-cut, which makes Jet Li a more real character. I guess I'm just not used to that kind of cinema from him.
Definitely check it out - it's his last martial arts epic in chinese film. His next movie is going to be an action flick by Rogue, but no more wushu-style stories from him. cry crying

crying This is supposed to be his last action movie that sucks there are not many martial arts actors I like as much as him.

Fearless was the best movie I've seen in far too long. I couldnt believe how well the scenes and everything flowed and changed.

The movie is not coming to our town I sent a message to Dickinson theaters and complained. It's total bull this is no small town I can't understand this crap.

I got this back after I fliped out hearing we wont get the movie here in Garden City KS. Quote: The studio releasing that film went with about 1200 prints nationally and Garden City does not make the cut unless they go with about 3000 prints. I have a god bootleg and the movie was the best jet li movie ive seen so far [ im not a jet li hater or lover im more of a jackie chan fan] speaking of good movies another one to see is myth i finally have seen it and it was great.
