And beta recedes, as full comes into the light...

I know the switch from beta to preview of full version hits a lot of people harder than me. I only really started Mapling seriously the beginning of April, so that's only a month. My highest character was level 28 thanks to a lot of help. But it makes me sad that its going to be harder to help starting fresh, since everyone is going to need everything they can get to get back on their feet for at least a week. I enjoyed being able to drop stuff to help out other beginning characters. And there will be a new crop of fresh n00bs coming up this month sometime, and I think things will get really crazy then. I understand where Wiznet is coming from, it was a bit better signing up this time, and at least they did try to compensate by offering 200% more exp and better drops, as well as a really nice special item for beta users. I believe them when they said they tried, and considering MapleSEA users had to start over it was a distinct possiblity over here even if people didn't want to think about it.

So there are a lot of pros and cons. The playing field is now level, and anyone who wishes to be official part of the real game has to start fresh. There's a shot for anyone who was part of beta to achieve pro, not just the early worms. I'm going to miss all my items, and my hours leveling, but I don't want to just stay in beta I want to be part of the real game. This time I know more and I won't make the same mistakes with my characters. I know the world better so leveling should go faster. And I have a lot more friends to watch out for from the beginning this time around 3nodding

I think the best thing to do is honestly level like mad while the extra exp is there, even if you're not sure you want to continue with full. Beta will still have its perks, it sounds like they'll test out stuff over there first, but I think for the most part people will make their way over to full. Beta will still be there, for when its too busy, and I'll be interested to see what its like with less people on, I'm sure the lone wolf players won't be sad for that. Hell I bet many beta people are dumping all their items right now, so market prices on beta will drop like crazy.

So we'll see how things are a week or two from now. Maple on!

6/20 files done... about time for bed, hopefully it'll keep downloading most of the night though its likely I'll be kicked off randomly after a couple hours.

My goal is to be done by Friday, since I have the day off and want to blow it Mapling! Must make my hunter... will probably already be level 20-30s running around by then stare

Maybe if I still have a lot left, I can take my zip drive over to my friends and beg her to download the last chunk of it tomorrow night...

And it begins XD

Started Mapling tonight, despite being tired and having had a killer headache earlier in the evening. And was on till after 6am... sweatdrop
Restarted my archer since I love her so, and this time her stats are better! Worked my way up to 13, gotta try to at least partially catch up with everyone who has had it downloaded since Tues, since I expect this weekend will be rather crazy. I hear the extra exp only lasts till Wed crying
I'm so dirt poor, but so is everyone else. Will be a while before people are wantonly dropping stuff or leaving it around methinks. Though Emi helped me out tremendously with my first set of job equips and then some, thanks so much! I will pay you back somehow!
Gotta get my buddy list back to normal, so if you were on add me again, I'm sure I'm still missing many people and I know a few have had name changes.
Nothing else to make note of really, just trying my best to level. Found more than usual ores but no interesting item drops, just a green bandana. I'm sure once I get up to killing higher monsters things will improve. Going to pick up the good old quests at lvl 15, and hopefully I can make it over 20 in time to PQ with some guild members. I want to get to at least 20 tomorrow/later today. I'll probably start a warrior later on in the weekend.
I expect to be on most of the day tomorrow so keep and eye out for me xd

Buisness as usual.

Just spent a lot of time leveling yet again. Leveled, napped, leveled some more till time to call it a night. Managed to get up to 20 which was my goal for the day. I really hope to achieve 30 by the end of the weekend if not sooner. May hold off until next week to make any more characters, I've been debating back and forth on it.
Not much interesting in the way of drops other than more ores than usual, and dangit I keep finding n00b MALE clothes! If they were female I'd keep for fun! I did find a couple female but of course they were the same as the set I started with stare But shortly before the end in the Blue Mushie Forest I found a lvl 25 Wizard Staff, cool! Will save it for my eventual mage, but if anyone would like to borrow it LMK since that'll be a while before I can use it. And, why IS there staffs and wands? I'm kinda confused by them. Is it sorta like crossbows vs bows? Is one better than the other?
My stats are pretty sweet, I'm WAY ahead of requirements for future bows as opposed to being short several points in both STR and DEX with my beta character. So hopefully when I get up some more I'll be pretty unstoppable. I know better how I want to spend skill points too.
So pretty boring, its neat having so many friends on and chatting while fighting though I havn't really be partying much, there's still a fair spread in everyone's levels (and I think Wolfie is going to own us all sweatdrop ) I don't play on going to Ossyria until I'm of an appropriate level, gives me something else to look forward to. No point in peeking around if I wouldnt' live through most areas, when I go I want to be able to explore and actually handle the monsters. 5 days left in preview.

Another new character and more killing.

Started up my mage last night. God leveling them up to 8 SUCKS! I was doing okay up to 6, but it got horrible after that. I can't even imagine doing it without the double exp. It got to the point where I was begging people to ks me because I couldn't get things to die and thus no exp, at least if someone else killed it I'd get some! The red snails hurt so much! For a while I was runing around on the one map near South Perry hitting each snail I came across a couple times and then waiting for a group of people to come by and kill them. I had a nice little flock of them slowly running after me at one point. Took me over an hour to make it to Ellinia. I really think it'll be worth it in the long run, I'm honestly pretty excited about making a cleric though it'll take me a while to get there, mages are pretty strong. I started with the stats 4/7/10/4. Yeah should have had the high one in luck but I figured I would need the def kinda too, and the luck requirement isn't too steep. Its rather silly mages have to have luck scores for their equips. Passed myself a bunch of processed wood from my archer to make the first couple wands at reduced cost. Which also leads to the side story of my archer going to the hidden Orange Mushie area to get the caps to make that one wand. It was so gleefully fun to just keep walking across that area and killing everything in sight SMACK SMACK SMACK, majority in one hit. I actually got pretty good exp from it too. I figured if I was going to pass my mage some mush caps, I'd pass them a full amount and my mage can sell the rest for mesos for equips. I also found some drops which amused me.
I didn't make it to my lvl 30 weekend goal with my archer. Just not happening. But I SOOOOO LOOOOVVEEEEE my lvl 25 bow! *marries it* So it kinda maks up for it being able to use it again. I have a somewhat secret spot near Perion I like to go to level, where the guy for the warrior job advancement is, it has a good number of dark stumps and lots of wild boars (but no fire ones!) that not too many people know about, even on crowded days if you channel surf enough you should find a spot where there's nobody or one person. Only drawback is there's two spots where occaisonally lupins appear. I love it because the drops are 2 things I need most- firewood and feathers, plus leather is always good- and the arrangement is pretty good for ranged archer shots, compared to most mountain areas. I took Aquafire there and we tore the place up for a while 3nodding Boars also drop decent mesos. I think people dont' go there much since you have to go through several maps to get there, so trekking back to town for more pots is a task. Also big thanks to Aqua for the weighted metal earrings! Yay my first pair of earrings! Must get more... I want to finish up the Alex quest soon and hopefully get a good pair!
My archer is basically doing decent supporing my other chars so far. I've found enough drops to supply my warrior with weapons up to lvl 15 that are decent. Should be easy to pass them stuff for quests too. Thank god the warrior has great inventory space, the mage sucks, so the warrior will get most of the ores.
Tonight and tomorrow night I should be able to stay up late, so if you're interested to PQ PLEASE LMK! I rock so much more now that I have a good bow and some new armor. I can't wait to wear those lvl 26 boots with more speed! I've been kinda cheap with armor so far, I've been skipping buying full sets of anything, kept the same shoes and hat the whole time, saving for better stuff. When I hit lvl 30 I think I'll treat myself to a full set though.
I want to ideally get my archer to 35, my warrior to 15, and my mage to 20 by the end of preview.
