Has anyone else read Johnny the Homicidal Maniac? I just picked up the directors cut recently, though it had tempted me for a while. Parts of it are pretty sick, but I like dark and cynical humor so its all good. And as much as I like Johnny, I still thing the Happy noodle boy comics he creates are my favorite part....But I like wierd nonsensical ramblings so. Anyways, I was just wondering if anyone else had read it, heard of it, or liked it. I did!

ah...I guess its a pretty obscure comic by the creator of invader zim. yeah, after reading that.....I wonder WHY nickelodeon thought that giving him a kid's show would be a good idea.

Yes! Some one agrees! Nickelodeon WAS stupid to ask Johnen to do a kids show! The most reading I have from that is from the internet. That is because I cannot find the stupid comic book! Where did you pick yours up?

i've heard about it and it sounds interesting, though the sequal is something i'll probably avoid. i have yet to find it so thats why i haven't read it. i think invader sim was a good show, and i wish they had more episodes.

the demon of chaos i've heard about it and it sounds interesting, though the sequal is something i'll probably avoid. i have yet to find it so thats why i haven't read it. i think invader sim was a good show, and i wish they had more episodes. Oh, I didn't say invader zim wasn't a good show, I just don't think it was a very good idea on Nick's part.....and judging from how fast it was canceled....I'd say I was right. It would have been much better on cartoon network or adult swim or somthing.

I actually enjoy Squee much more. Johnny the Homicidal Maniac got pretty repetitive after awhile, although it started off strong. Although Squee, towards the end, suffered a similar fault. They were both good, but got old after awhile.
Invader Zim, however, I feel is brilliant, although some episodes are clearly superior to others.

I love JtHM and Squee!
And Zim, hehe. I must say, I could watch that a million and two times the whole way through and still be absolutely in love with it. XD
No, I'm a fan of literally all of Jhonen Vasquez's work, including Fillerbunny and I Feel Sick (which was actually the first comic of his I read, because of my old friend Leah who I don't see no more). Pepito is an awesome character, I love that Squee lives next to the Anti Christ. <3
The biggest problem is that not enough people know of or have read it, and so I never get to talk about it with anyone.
I'm getting a Nny tattoo, actually. He's going to have Squee on his shoulders, and Squee will be holding Shmee over his head like an airplane.
And before anyone says thats out of character, I don't care. I always saw their relationship as a brother-y thing, and so thats what my tattoo is going for. XP
EDIT: Tommy, you do realize that you are posting on a thread that died 7-8 months ago, right?

Some days I feel like poor, tormented Nii. Johnen is a genius, lazy as hell, but a genius. I love his God Episode in JHTM:
God: go away, I just created the universe, I need a nap.
Nii: that was BILLIONS of years ago!
God: Leave me a alone!
Sheesh, I wish he'd write another JHTM, but knowing him, he's probably neck deep in drugs and whores that he can't pay for. Zim was funny, though a lot of his episodes were just not over reaching and not funny at all. The animation was great though, nothing cutting edge, just really good and suited the atmosphere o the series.
