 Tia padded warily up towards the looming Pride Rock. She'd gotten the idea to come here after meeting Ave, and hopefully she would be welcome... she glanced around. There was no sign of her friend, but she knew the king and queen lived here, up on that rock...
She looked up at it, and sighed. Surely it would be better to wait at the base of the rock, since she wasn't sure whether she'd be allowed to enter it or not. Reclining on a lower, flat stone, she let her gold-tipped paws dangle over the edge, looking thoughtful. It was a big jump, going from living underground to here.. but she had a friend.. and she hoped that the lions here would be accepting. She simply couldn't stay in her old home.. but thinking of that gave her pangs of homesickness, so she merely laid her head on her paws and gazed out at the savannah.

-Had she not been so... vibrant... Mufasa quite possibly wouldn't have seen her as he lazily made his way down the rocks, intent on quenching the dryness that'd settled in his throat. But the bright splashes of color that speckled the golden rocks indeed drew his eye, and he nodded in soft greeting to the unfamilar figure.
Perhaps she was just resting, and sunning herself? But just in case she wasn't.. he paused, offering softly.- "Hello there miss. Something troubling you?"

Tiacapan lifted her head suddenly, looking round to see Mufasa standing there. She folded her ears back respectfully. He was a large lion, and the golden colour of most pridelanders...
"No, nothing is wrong, thank you," she replied finally, smiling a bit. Tia wasn't one to spill her guts to strangers. "I was... well, you see, my friend has joined this pride, and I was going to do so as well." She explained. "But I wasn't sure whether my going up to find the king would be appreciated," she added sheepishly. "Do you.. ah.." she paused. "Know where he might be?"
She flicked her tail nervously. She had heard that this pride was very accepting, and she hoped the rumors were true...

-His auburn and gold tail flicked softly back and forth. It seemed his drink would be interupted after all. But that was okay, he had the rest of the day for that.- "Ahhh.. strangers are allowed to ascend the rocks. You just might end up with quite a few curious eyes upon you."
-Giving his big old body a weary strech, and little bit of a shake, he finally nodded, settling himself onto the ground to give his attention to her.- "Right before you actually. I'm the king here.. Mufasa. And you are?"

Tia was used to the leaders of prides being rather down-to-earth, but wasn't sure whether Mufasa was the same way. She smiled somewaht weakly at him. "Oh, I see! Well, my luck, then. I"m sorry.. I'm Tiacapan." she bowed her head a bit.
"I.. you see, I'm looking for someplace.." she paused, before plowing ahead. "Safe. To live. Is there.. could I possibly stay here?" she gazed up at him from her spot on the ledge, rather belatedly impressed by his size.

-A warm smile touched his golden maw, paired with a rumbling purr, as he nodded in greeting.- "Nice to meet you Tiacapan."
-The enthusiasm and quickness she hopped onto the subject caught him a little off guard however.. used to the many lions and families that came.. and beat about the bush before asking the same question of him. And unfortunately for her, that left him to ponder, and he gave a hint of a good natured laugh.- "That's an admirable hope. Have you spent much time wandering around the Pridelands? Making sure it's the place for you?"
-Of course HE thought that it was the place for any peace loving lions, but she seemed young, and often times the young and impulses went hand and hand.- "Often times cautiousness is better then jumping into a situation."

The lioness folded her ears back slightly, looking thoughtful. He had a point, impulse was not a good idea when joining a pride.. but she had indeed wandered the area many times in the past, and the lions here did seem content...
And Ave was here.
"I.." she paused. She could not tell him she was leaving the Anansi, about how she'd observed his lands while on patrol.. and after all, when she had, she had never considered actually staying there.
"I have seen some of the lands," she admitted finally, looking a bit sheepish. "I... my friend and I talked about coming here together, but we seem to have gotten seperated. Her name is Avelleno.." she added, wondering whether Ave had met the king yet. She quieted then, nodding at Mufasa. "You are right, though. I .. have heard many stories about the peacefulness of the Pridelanders, but I have no way of knowing if they are true." she seemed to get more talkative with the larger lion now that she was sure he was friendly, and he had given her something to think about.

-He pondered the name softly, before replying lightly.- "I believe that name sounds familar.. Perhaps a name that my mate told me? She often does the task of allowing other into the lands as well."
-And as she spoke of seeing, and peace a warm laugh shifted from him, deep and old, and he nodded gently.- "Well then, it sounds as if your mind is already made up on the matter."
"This is a peaceful place, and always open for more who feel the way we do. So I won't stop you from joining, if it's your wish. You have my blessings."

Tia smiled warmly, relieved that Ave's name sounded familiar. "Oh, good. I'm glad.. I'll have to go look for her, then." she murmured happily. "To see how she's settling in."
"Thank you," the crimson lioness said gratefully, feeling as though a lrage weight had been lifted off of her chest. "You have no idea how much of relief this is," she confided, though he probably did, having seen so many other lions take their refuge in these lands. She slipped off the slab of rock and smiled. "If... if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go and try to find my friend now. To tell her the good news!" She bobbed her head at the king. "Your Majesty.." and slunk off towards the wateringhole, where she hoped she would fine Avelleno. "I hope to speak to you again soon!" She called back to the large golden lion, a new spring in her step as she made her way through her new home.
