[Wolves of the Sea] Captain

Far out in the blue-green sea, orcas and other creatures of the deep swim freely without fear of being killed or even seen by humans. Usually adult whales only go this far out, since sharks and other predators don't dare pick on something so large. But they will gladly go after babies that venture so far...

Vuli swam around, all alone and quite frankly a bit skittish. She was normaly to timid to go this far out into the open, but she was determined to get over her fear. Almost...
She constantly looked around to see if she was being followed, and always felt like she was being watched. Paranoid is a good word for her. A tiny fish swam past her and she flinched, "Get a hold of yourself Vuli, c'mon!" She told herself, tired of always being so afraid.

 "Hello there," a deep, flowing voice echoed Vuli's way. "And who might you be?" Mysth finally desided to show himself. He knew it was torture for the pitiful female for him to trail her.
Mysth swam calmly towards her. He looked almost like a normal black and white orca, save for his distinctive black spots. They started on his shoulders and ran all the way down to the tip of his tail. He bore a slight smile, almost a smirk, as he stopped in front of Vuli.

Vuli spun around as quickly as an orca can, and found herself face-to face with the owner of the sudden voice. Her heartbeat slowed back to normal as she realized that he seemed friendly enough. "I'm Vuli... Who are you?" She asked, trying her best to keep her voice steady.

"I am Mysth," Mysth replied formally, smiling. "Pleased to make your aquaintance." Reverting to a more casual tone, he continued, "One as skittish as you should be hard to find in the open ocean. Why worry? Sharks wouldn't dare attack orcas so large, and humans don't hunt this far out," he tried to calm her, his voice soothing. "What, you afraid of a dolphin?" he teased. "They're the only other large creatures out here."

"Its nice to meet you Mysth," She said, thinking about his words for a second. What was she afraid of? "I suppose other orcas could attack me if they wanted." She said with a nod, "Not all of us are so friendly."
"And I'll have you know that dolphins can be quite tempermental, especially in groups! You don't want to upset them..." She said, now meremly retorting to his tease.

"Psh," Mysth scoffed, making an umbelieving "snort."
"Dolphins are less than half our size by themselves, and they only attack as pods if we attack them.... And I doubt you would ever attack a dolphin," he jested, his maw widening to show a friendly grin. "Seriously though, Vuli. You'll be fine. wink "

Vuli smiled, "Alright then, if you say so." She said with a nod. This guy did seem quite smart, and friendly too! She grinned widely and said, "You seem to know a lot about other creatures, I've never met someone who is so knowledgeable."

"Ah, thanks for the compliment!" Mysth nodded as only an orca could. Thinking of a compliment to send back off the top of his head, he continued, "You know, you have a lovely speckle pattern. I love spots.... Well, mostly because I have spots, but you know what I mean!" He slipped up a bit at the end, thinking he said something rather silly. "Aheh, I need to fire my dialogue person for that last one... sweatdrop "

Vuli chuckled, "Thanks, you're spots are nice too." She said, looking at the huge spots on his sides. "And funny too!" She said with a laugh, she was always one to love a good laugh. "I could see myself spending a lot of time with a guy like you Mysth" She said with a flirty grin.

"Who said funny? Not me, thats for sure." She said, looking around as if trying to find someone who may have said it, and then laughing because she knew she looked stupid.

Laughter split Mysth's maw as she listened to her joke. No way this is the little scardie-cat I knew a while ago! he joked to himself. "Vuli, you're just to good... rofl "

She laughed along with him, for some reason, she wasn't afraid when she was around him, he made her feel... Safe, and he made her feel happy, "Thank you, thank you," She said, making a motion that looked slightly like a bow.

"You are quite the joker, Vuli," he winked as he watched her act.
A feeling stirred inside Mysth, one he hadn't felt since he was a young calf trailing his mother. For once in such a long time, he felt truely happy here. Here... with her. What am I feeling? he wondered. His eyes instinctively wandered towards hers, and he realized a passion, deep, deep within him.
