I think that this is truly my favorite Poe story, even before I discovered Erik.

Yay for Poe! That's one of my favorite Poe stories, along with The Black Cat, The Pit and the Pendulum, The Tell Tale Heart and the Fall of the house of Usher. ^_^

I love that story. It's what I based my costume on for Imagination Day (part of homecoming week at my school). I had fake blood in drops on my face, and it was fun.

I loved this story! <3 We read it in my AP English class, but I was absent on the day it was assigned. A fellow Phan at school called me and told me about the assignment, much to my embarassing fangirl delight. So, when I showed up to school the next day my teacher didn't expect me to know anything about it. But I pretty much answered all of his questions analyzing the piece, and I threw in a few allusions to Phantom. And thus, I now love his class. XD; <3
