I'm currently a level 17 rdm, and I wanted to know, which subjob would be the best for my rdm?
. I though about warrior because of the attack and sword boost, but then my mp would suck.
. I also thought about whm, since my mp would get high. but then wouldn't my hp go down?
. I thought about blm as well but I dunno, what do you think?

well concidering my rdm is a elvaan i went blm...more mp, mp reduction bonus, warp, things like that. Its worked pretty well for me because most of the time i debuff an nuke anyways cause im hardly put as a healer, but i would suggest upping whm too just in case they do need a healer rdm more then they do a damage dealer.

TiggyChan just about summed it up. The only real time you will ever sub something besides blm or whmto your rdm when you wish to exp is at higher levels (post 65). Then you can go rdm/war or rdm/nin and solo for your exp, other than that the only other sub you should chose could be brd after lvl 50 for mage ballad (rdm/brd works best if your in a manaburn party).

Well, up till 36, sub whm, then blm till like...forever. Lvl both to 37 though since you will be asked to sub one or the other sometimes. Oh..and later on, sub /nin for solo, you will be doing a lot of that, and at 75.../drk for dynamis(evil high lvl thing where people die...a lot)

The new areas require WHM sub though for barfira etc, and many of the new monsters are highly magic resistant (colibris even reflect). My retarded BLM in my PT casted Freeze, and the colibri reflected it on me. Stupid...

Have RDM, WHM levelled as RDM sub.
DRK is required at end-game events for chainspell stun.

It's all been said already but I wanted to post anyways lol..
In my opinion whm sub is far more useful to every party you're in than anything else you could sub. Unless you are asked to take the roll of a blm nuking, or PTing in an area that may need escape(and you have no BLM), then blm would be good. I know 80% of rdms sub blm, but i used whm sub most of my time leveling. I guess I am just used to being healer and can't stand not having ALL those useful spells like erase, poisona and all the -na spells. I also love divine seal+cure4ing after convert to be @ full health and ready every 10mins for a new chain.
Also, around level 50 when you start doing crabs you should put the sword away... you wont be able to outdamge anyone but the paladin and for the most part you will just be giving the monster TP which just harms your party. If you want a job that can melee and use magic, level BLU ^^;
Goodluck to you and remember to disengage and heal when you're running low on mp!

up till 33 when you get dispel, that's fine. after that though, a mage subjob is prefured to pt's or invites suck. nin is good for soloing, but that's pretty hard to do up till 60 as a rdm, and even then, takes forever to kill something.

In a party. BLM or WHM. Keep them both lvld
For farming THF
For shits and giggles NIN
Im ready for the flame from this one. but Never ever mele in a party past 32.
Id rather i never saw it. All your doing is giving the Mob Unnessicary TP and your Probably not debuffing/buffing/nukeing/healing very well while meleing. RDM have so much to do in a party you shouldent have time to mele. Just my opinion cusre me out and call me a n00b if u want. Use wands for mind and int better for your enfeebs and buffs to stick
