"And dey went thru teh foryst?" Medusa asked as she looked up to her mother, walking beside her on the forest path.
"Yeah, and then Little Red Riding Hood met a WOLF. He wasn't a very nice wolf... in fact, he wanted to eat her." Grinning, Kanth was happy at the reaction she was getting from Medusa for such an old story, and the story was one of many of her favorites.

Glancing about as they wandered through the forest back to the Nest, Jett considered this new environment. Leaving D-Corp for the first time hadn't been an incredible surprise-- after all, he'd always known he'd have to go forth from the scientific place eventually. And Raven didn't seem so bad. But he couldn't help the nagging feeling that--
"Someone else is here."
The little boy seemed to be doing ok. Raven had no idea what she could do for him but-- what? Glancing up ahead, Raven spotted a little blue girl and someone-- must be her guardian. "Hi there!" Raven called, gently pulling Jett along by one of his arms. Hey, maybe they could make some new friends...

"Oh? Maybe it's the big bad wolf!" Kanth exclaimed softly to Medusa, getting a skeptical look.
"Sillee," Medusa chided, waggling a finger at Kanth playfully, getting a laugh out of her mother.
"It looks like another D-corp child..." Kanth mused thoughtfully, stopping on the trail and waiting for them to reach her. "Though I'm unsure what kind of kid she has." Medusa, also intrigued, stared at the approaching strangers.

Part of Raven worried that she'd run across someone who would get upset-- who'd discriminate against Jett's large amount of limbs. Or his smaller eyes under his primary. Or his black skin, the strange understanding-- but you can't always worry. You have to just trust sometimes that it'll be ok. Besides, the little girl was blue and transluscent. Obviously a Gaian child.
"Hi there!" Raven smiled, glancing at the two. "Um... I'm Raven. Just came from D-Corp-- was on my way home when Jett here spotted you two. Thought we'd introduce ourselves!" She was babbling again. Damnit. Oh well. Too late now.
The little girl was clear-ish. Blue. Strange, but not harmful. Yet. Possibly later, but not now. Jett didn't know whether to speak or let his... 'Mother'... do the talking. She seemed to need to speak right now. Let her. Wait.

(( Not sure if you know, but Medusa has tentacles on her fingers, so... yeah. xD;; STINGY. ♥ )) "Ahhh, I was right." Kanth smiled. "I'm Kanth, and this is Medusa. She's from D-corp as well. You have a gorgeous child."
Medusa walked up to the spider boy and made her way around him, looking intently curious. "Ar yew teh big bad wulf?" She asked, stopping and reaching out to poke one of his arms. She didn't think the big bad wolf had more than two arms, but one could never be sure!
Kanth paled. Oh no!

((Uh oh~)) Jett frowned ever so slightly at the sensation of pain, one of his other hands moving to pull her wrist away from his body. Unfortunate. "No." He didn't feel the need for verbose answers, preferring to keep his calm, even though his arm was beginning to hurt.
Raven's eyes widened slightly and placing her right hand where Medusa had stung him. At least she'd been trained in Reiki? She kind of knew what to do-- it might end up hurting a little more for a short bit of time before the pain subsided, but at least it wouldn't spread. Managing a smile, Raven laughed a little. "Thanks... Medusa's a lovely little girl as well." If a little... sharp? Venomous? Well, Jett was venomous as well, but...

"Jellyfish. I'm sorry, she likes touching things. She hasn't realized the concept yet." Kanth blushed ever slightly, pulling the girl back and looking at her with a disapproving look.
"Sowry," Medusa apologized, lowering her head and shuffling her feet. She honestly thought he wouldn't mind.

Raven laughed slightly. "Well, I've been trained in this healing thing, so it's ok." Giving Medusa a gentle smile, Raven couldn't help but think about how absolutely adorable the child was. "Ah. Jett's a black widow, to my knowledge," she explained, "which might be why he's not upset about the sting-- he's a bit venomous himself." Well, his bite was at least.
Jett shrugged. It didn't matter. Raven had made the pain go away now. It was fine. But strange. Little girl with fingers of stinging... stuff. Strange indeed... It made him wonder...

"That's good," Kanth breathed, relieved. Glancing around, she blinked and smiled. "Would you two like to walk with us?"
Medusa stole another glance at the other, confused at his own glance. Did he not like her?

Glancing at Jett, Raven smiled slightly. "All right," she agreed. It would be good to get Jett some friends. Friends were useful. Good to have around. Friends who weren't family, she meant. Friends who were... yes. Different. "That would be nice." Nice. Good. Right.
Jett shrugged. Walking further for a while. Finding out things about people. Interesting. Maybe. The little girl was watching him. Little girl-- Medusa. Stinger. Stinger-- good name for her. Little girl with a fish inside...

Medusa wished he would so talk. Idly, she raised her head and gave him a small smile, before opening her mouth to speak.
"Wat's yer naem?" She asked, walking closer to him to glance at him, then glance away. Kanth had always said it was impolite to stare, and now she was trying her very bestest to obey.
"Any place you wanted to visit? We're new to this area, so we're up for anything intriguing."

Hadn't 'Mother' answered that? "Jett," the boy answered shortly, the word rolling off his tongue easily. His name. The distinction of who he was over someone else. "...you're... Medusa." The boy took his time with the name, sounding it out in his head before saying it aloud, not wanting to get it wrong. Names were important. You couldn't afford to get them wrong.
"Well, we were just on our way home-- my other children are with my... friend," Raven ended uncertainly. She never could be sure whether to call Winter her friend or her sister. Their relationship was a strange one... "But it's a ways away, so I'm not sure what's around here. Perhaps we could just explore?"

Medusa smiled, giving a nod, but still looked nervous around the other. "... yew kan kall meh Dusa..."
"Exploring works for me. Medusa's found interesting things that way." She smiled warmly.

Dusa. A name. Simplified version of the full. Now too young to carry the weight of the full name. "...Dusa," Jett repeated quietly. "...'kay."
Raven smiled at that. Well, exploring had always been good for the body and the soul, right? ...except when it wasn't, but friends were good! "Ah... so, how long have you had Medusa?" she asked as she started walking again.

"... watchu tinking 'bout?" Medusa asked, her eyes wide with curiosity. Okay, she couldn't help but stare, he was so intriguing!
"It's been nearly a month now... though it seems shorter than that. Time flies, really." Kanth tilted her head down a bit, kicking at a small pebble.
