I think they balance each other out. I normally don't like the argument, "opposites attract" because that's not always the case. However, it works in a twisted way for SasuSaku. I don't entirely believe Sakura is the light to Sasuke's dark because that is more or less Naruto's role. I think she is his humanity, as illustrated in the Forest of Death Scene when she brought Sasuke back out of his haze.

I believe Sakura has the patience and love to not give up on Sasuke. I doubted her feelings in the earlier arc, but that was before I had read Chapter 181. She's gone far for Sasuke, and I think she will continue to push on.

As for Sasuke, he needs both Naruto and Sakura but differently. Whereas Naruto is his bestfriend/brother he never had/shares the most bonds with, Sakura is also important. I can see the brother+strong friendship relationship working out between Naruto and Sasuke and the romantic relationship between Sakura and Sasuke. Sakura, along with Naruto can help Sasuke.

And yeah.

One, they're the most plausible couple ever. I can't think of anyone else who really should get together more than them. Honestly. Not even NaruHina can come close (but that's just me).

Two, yes, opposites don't always attract when it comes to relationships, since love just defies science, but the thing is, their characters are on the extremities and they need each other to balance out.

Three, it just makes way for another couple I like - NaruHina. When it's SasuSaku, I think pretty much everyone can be happy with the arrangement. (Again, this is just my opinion.)

Four, SasuSaku doesn't shut Naruto out, not as much as NaruSaku shuts Sasuke out (since most NaruSaku-ers figure out that when Sasuke's out of the picture Naruto can have Sakura) or SasuNaru shuts Sakura out. Sakura is Sasuke's humanity (as stated by Boss-chan) and Naruto is Sasuke's light, and they both play a part in Sasuke's development. If it were NaruSaku, Sasuke would end up not having much of a humanity (presuming he and Sakura would remain friends), and if it were SasuNaru, Naruto would end up playing both his light and humanity, which is unfair for Sakura. SasuSaku reinstates the Team 7 bond.

And I don't know how to end this, so I'll just stop-

First off, I love blue/black and pink/red together.

Secondly, they trust each other. In a relationship, trust is essential. It was obvious on more than one occasion that Sasuke trusted Sakura. Two examples: when he started telling her of his past, and when he asked her not to tell Naruto about the Curse Seal.

Third, I like to think of Sakura as Sasuke's cure. And yes, I thought of that before finding out that she had become a medic nin and was training under Tsunade. But the Forest of Death scene, anyone? Sasuke was practically going on a killing spree, and her hug/tears affected him so much that the Curse Seal receded and he was able to calm down. Kishimoto had to have made that happen for a reason..

And finally, Sasuke needs her. Yes, he needs Naruto as well, but like imogen said, only as a brother/best friend. Honestly, I think Sasuke and Sakura complement each other perfectly. He's silent and calm, whereas she's loud and out-spoken. The two of them mutually complete each other. In a relationship, most people look for a complement; not someone identical.

Also, Sakura really understood Sasuke. I mean, really. How else could you explain the fact that she knew he would be leaving the village that night?

Sakura has had the patience to deal with all of Sasuke's insults before, and that is why I believe she'll continue having that patience if he were to return to the village and still act like a b*****d. He needs someone like that, someone who will stay by his side no matter what. And that is exactly what Sakura will do.

Gah. You guys practically said it all. ><

But I'm also a really big fan of opposites attract. Like Kairi said, not too many people usually look for something in people that just like them. Usually.. there's something different. A couple that are identical are just, blah. While, when you got opposties, there are some action and fun involved with the two different natures.

Also, I'm a big fan of angsty. And SasuSaku, (To me,) Is the biggest angsty couple in the whole series. So the more reason for me to like it. =P
