It wasn't his fault most guys didn't like him. It just happened to be that way. Maybe for other lions there was a balance between male and female friends, and Ezeoha had somewhat disrupted this balance by having many female friends and very few male friends. That had to be the reasoning behind his lack of attracting some male friends. He had somehow disrupted the delicate balance of friendship.
The cub continued to sulk like this for a considerable amount of time. His vibrant red jewelry failed to clank noisily together as they had done many times before. This was a side of Ezeoha that was rarely seen. He wasn't flirting with the nearest female in sight. In fact, he had passed over a particularily pretty Mosi and Chinara not a few minutes ago.
Passing over females was not something he did with ease, but when his mood sunk, such things were possible. The cub jumped up on a rock and curled up into a ball. His dark red eyes stared dully ahead at the border, and for some reason he seemed to always be near it nowadays. It was as if he was waiting for the right opportunity to leave, but that was to be some time in the future. For now he was still young, and still had plenty of females he wanted to get along with in the Pridelands.

Hasidi's mind rumbled with the words of his adopted mother, and how he'd always have a home with the Kusini, the thing is though that wasn't his original home, he wasn't sure exactly where home was. He remembered Mbali saying that he came from the Pridelands, and little did he know that he was walking on almost the same path the little one had walked.
Hasidi was the big brother bumbling dope (say that five times fast) out of everyone, he made friends easily, and didn’t seem to really attract the attention of females. In fact he was quite cursed with coming upon young Pridelander males, usually in rough shape. He didn't mind being kind and meeting new people, he found them interesting and they fed his need to learn.
Today must have been one of those days because as the bumbling red lion walked he spotted a yellow face peering at him from upon a rock. What’s that red stuff? as they say curiosity killed the cat. Hasidi quickened his pace, dragging his left hind leg behind him. “Hello there?” he called cautiously, as he neared.

Ezeoha blinked, observing the lion with a small amount of interest. A male, and one who was talking to him? Most males didn't even try to do that. They all knew about his reputation with the females and stayed a clear distance away from him, or worse yet, confronted him about his flirtations. Ezeoha didn't get into too many brawls, but there were some occassions when he allowed himself to sink low enough to get into a fight.
He sat up on his rock, staring curiously ahead at the older male lion. "Hello," Ezeoha replied, seeming almost cheerful. The idea had just hit him... to make a friend with another male. Maybe he could set the awful balance he had disrupted back into place. Maybe with this first male friend he'd make many more.
"I'm Ezeoha! It's a pleasure of mine to meet such an interesting fellow such as yourself." He was being awfully polite, and awfully cheerful. He didn't quite want to make a bad first impression.

Hasidi found a slight resemblance to this "yellow face" that turned out to be a young male lion to Mbali, not in color but in size and shape. A snickered echoed within his mind as he looked at this little fellow, he was wearing...red things? Afraid to ask exactly what they were because it might mean offending him.
"Oh, hello Ezeoha. I am Hasidi," he paused taking in the other males words, "It's quite the pleasure meeting you as well." Wow he certainly seems friendly! Before I said anything he seemed to be awful gloomy.
"At first, I thought you were sad," Hasidi's voice was very slow paced and it would seem he was touched in the head. As he moved closer to the other lion he winced inwardly, a grimace spreading across his face, he'd moved his bum leg at an awkward angle and the pain started to creep up and consume the entire back half of his body. On most days it wouldn’t affect him, but today seemed to be unusually hot for him and the heat made it stiffen.

Hasidi. He liked the name. It wasn't too masculine, and had just a delicate touch of femininity to it. An attractive name, a name probably not all that suitable for Hasidi. Oh well, Ezeoha figured that having a good name at the very least was a good thing, so Hasidi needn't worry about anything else.
Of course, Hasidi didn't quite seem to have any tact. The cub frowned, his expression deepening and becoming once again a mirror image of the face he had on before Hasidi had come along. "At first, I was," the cub mumbled, his ears pinned back against his head and his eyes seeming to tear up just a little bit. All right, so he was truly a delicate male, but females liked that, didn't they?
But, despite being emotional, Ezeoha was not a fool. He could tell when someone was in pain, physical pain at the very least. "What happened to your leg?" The cub questioned, jumping down from his rock to stare at the injured leg.

Oh dear, Hasidi had not meant to sir up any unhappy thoughts. He didn't want this new lion to think him weak and only interested in unhappiness; he was not angsty. Hasidi even though his leg was damaged was usually very happy and not above trying to make other's just as happy as himself.
An odd forced smile creeped across Hasidi's maw as Ezeo asked about his leg. Hasidi no matter who he met was always asked this question, and usually was one of the first things asked of him, especially by younger creatures. He didn't mind answering.
"When I was really small I was traveling with my mother and I got hurt, my mom was pretty pushy when it came to moving quickly. It's always been that way," that or ripped open and bleeding, "Have you ever seen anyone that looks like me? I'm searching for my family." He went straight to the point. His entire reasoing for being away from home was looking for his family and his origins, why not ask up front?

Ezeoha did not really think that he would bring bad memories to Hasidi as Hasidi had done to him. He was still young, despite his better attempts at making himself appear older, and that meant he was still prone to mistakes. Sometimes these mistakes of his would go unnoticed by the cub, and this such incident was one of them.
"I've never travelled," the cub said in a conversational tone, seeming to take acute interest to the injured leg. "But I think your mom needs to learn not to push you so much. That doesn't look pretty." He nodded towards the leg, before deciding that it had had enough attention, and then he returned to his rock.
The cub inspected Hasidi's appearance, trying to find some connection between him and some of the lions he had met in the Pridelands. "I'm sorry, I haven't seen anyone with distinct similarities with you." Ezeoha actually looked sad that he could not aid his new 'friend'. "If I lost my family, though, I doubt I'd search for them. They don't like me too much, and I don't like them. My sister, Baridi, left a little while ago, and I haven't looked for her at all." Maybe that wasn't a sort of quality he should be showing off, but Ezeoha didn't mind. It couldn't hurt to tell someone that he didn't like his family.

"Oh I'm sure that your family likes you! Blood is thicker than water as they say. Maybe they have just become side track?" he nodded knowingly, surely they wouldn't leave this little guy, he seemd really sweet. Hasidi suddenly felt very worried for the kid. "My mum died a while ago, I've been searching for where she came from, maybe I have cousins and a father." A sigh escaped the big big dope of a lion.
"I don't mean to be rude, but what's that red stuff you have all over you?" He inspected the younger lion's jewlery with fasicnation. What exactly was all over the juvenile lion? "It's very erm...nice!" He was trying his best to back track, what if Ezeoha didn't want to be asked about it? Hasidi began shifting his weight uneasily looking down at his paws, ahh, now what have I done?
He glanced up looking for any unhappiness in Ezeoha.

"The only one who likes me is my mother. I met my father and we got into a fight, and my brother Baakir taunts me, and my sister Baridi was a pain because she didn't like one my close friends. They haven't become side tracked. They just don't like me." Ezeoha seemed to have this as a determined fact. He was just so unlike the rest of his family that there was bound to be many conflicts between them all.
"Oh, this?" The cub positively beamed, his paw reaching his necklace and holding it up for Hasidi to inspect. "This is the only good thing my father has done for me. He got these from the Firekin lands. They're jewels, shiny and red. Don't you agree that they match my eyes?" Hasidi had probably done the correct thing by asking about Ezeoha's jewelry. It was his pride and joy. He strutted around with it on enough to make the adult lions blink when he passed by because of the reflection of the light.
"I could try and find you something. You need some new colors to you..."

Hasidi allowed the subject of family to drop, realizing that Ezeoha would soon realize what family would mean to him. Hasidi for a long time resented his mother and wished she were still around, I wander how he'd feel if his mother and father died and he knew? Hasidi was crushed and thus thought that everyone would be crushed by the thought of their dead parents.
Oh, he'd done something right! Hasidi was practically a glow with pride and a real smile spread across his face. "Oh they certainly are lovely! See your father most be a little happy to have you, brining you something so amazingly beautiful!" He wasn't at all sure about jewels, they were something that hung, were they supposed to be for something?
"Oh, me have something..? Color?" The red lion was confused, he'd wanted to be the color silver or white since he met his adoptive mother Tisha and his siblings. "I don't understand?"

Hasidi could do a good thing one second, and then all the sudden do something stupid. Ezeoha had been happy to move away from the subject of his family, and hearing about his father didn't make him all that happy. "I was just born, I think, and they matched my eyes, so he gave them to me. I wasn't old enough to get on her nerves at that time."
Ezeoha did truly want to stay away from talk of his parents at the moment. Certainly there were more interesting things to do, such as show off his amazing jewelry. Hasidi, though, was proving to be a little slow... and this seemed to make Ezeoha even happier. Oh, the things he could teach this lion! It would be so much fun! Ezeoha wouldn't be the one being taught this time around.
The cub's smile widened. "I'll help you understand. See?" He took off his necklace and held it closer to Hasidi. "This is jewelry, and I think I can try and find some for you. The red part is the jewel, so I was wondering what color jewel you'd like for your jewelry. Do you understand?"

Hasidi seemed to inatly pick up that Ezeoha did not want to talk about his family, but it was something that was very important to him, he would try to avoid the subject now, that's all.
Excited to maybe learn something new the red lion peered at the necklace a little closer, it was pretty. But what was the purpose of wearing it around his neck? "It's interesting, and pretty! I don' t know is there a white color for jewels?" Hasidi leaned in closer and inhaled deeply through his nostrils trying to see if it had a smell, but to him it just smelled like the lion holding it. Nothing special there. Maybe it tasted good?
Hasidi leaned over and with out looking at Ezeoha slurped the jewel into his mouth. "Thiiis astes naaathy" This tastes nasty, he spit it out onto the ground.

"Maybe there is... But I don't think white would be a good color. Maybe some yellow... something new a vibrant for you." That was another point down for Hasidi. The older lion obviously had a severe lack of a sense of style. Well, to go around with no accessories certainly hinted that one was lacking in good taste, but Ezeoha had held some hope for his new friend.
The cub blinked in surprise, though, when Hasidi took his necklace into his mouth, and then promptly began to cry. "That's my necklace!" He jumped to the ground where it was spat out, and desperately began to clean it and look for any damage. There was none, except for a lot of spit and a lot of dirt. But it was enough to give Ezeoha a good scare, and a good cry. His necklace was important to him. Jewelry was what made him unique, and Ezeoha felt that if something happened to his jewelry, he wouldn't nearly be as attractive to the females as he was now.
"Of course it tastes nasty! You're supposed to wear it!"

"My Tisha is white, I just wanted to have something that reminded me of her." The poor sap really did miss his adoptive mother, "Yellow is an okay color, like birds!" He snickered and rocked back and forth slightly.
"I'm sorry I tasted your necklace, I wasn't sure what it was for. Thank you for teaching me," he felt like a complete idiot, maybe he should have stayed home. Maybe he just wasn't cut out for being around people smarter than him. For being such a happy lion Hasidi was certainly having a bad day. "I'm really sorry!"
He stood up and paced one way shifting the weight, his leg was beginning to stiffen. Hasidi wasn't sure if Ezeoha was going to accept his apology, and what if he didn't? Would he send Hasidi away?

"Well, I suppose that is an admirable cause." The cub said, eyeing Hasidi as if the older lion had just been put under a new light. Sure, Hasidi lacked a sense of style, but he lacked nothing in the senses of the heart. Perhaps Ezeoha would stick around a little longer to learn to be a little more sensitive.
"You could've asked... I mean, it's not all that hard to ask about a necklace. You could've said 'What does it do?' or something like that." The cub slipped the necklace back over his head, determined to never let it come into harm's way ever again. This was his treasure, and treasure was sacred and had to be kept safe.
"Well, I guess it's all right... It's not dented or anything, just smells really bad." There was no way he was going to lose his dolt of a friend over some small mistake. Ezeoha had little enough friends as it was.
