Chath....was exhausted, trying to train Keir was one of the most frusterating things he had ever had to do. He kept trying to convince himself that he had the patience of a hero...and that is probably the only reason why he was still unscarred right now.
The black dragon was...needless to day, one who didn't like to obey, and often went off to do his own thing. Currently it was gnawing on the thick rope that was looped around its neck. This seemed to keep him occupied for the moment but Chath knew that soon Keir would eventually chew through it and get away.
Their were several bandaids on the tips of his fingers...some..unpelasant reminders of how sharp those teeth were, good thing he could regenerate..no serious wound lasted for long.
Sitting on a cement block in a parking lot in front of the mall, Chath was trying to catch his breath, sweat rolled down his back, and his hair felt disgusting. He knew he was going to have to buy better rope...at least until Keir decided to actually listen to him.. THe only reason he was placed on a lesh was becuase the young dragon had attempted to eat a neighbors pet dog, no amount of scolding seemed to penetrate the young dragons mind.
It was small...and looked...delicious to him.

Vivina, obviously bored, was once again wandering around D-Corp. This time she had the liberty of having her dragon with her. He mom had to run an errand again and so left Dan in charge og the house. However, the crazed scientist ignored his duties, letting Vivina make her quick escape. As long as she returned before the end of the day, she wouldn't be in too much trouble.
It had occured to the sugar glider that she has only been to the parking lot area once a long time ago. It was a strange and barren area of the facility and she wondered what could be lurking around in a place such as this. Such inquiries led her directly to where Chath was. Wondering who this person might be, she darted around the few cars and bushes, trying to get a closer look. Sephayr was not too far behind, his massive body easily slithering about in grace.
Seph had finally been able to get outdoors again, having been cooped up indoors recovering from the canyon incident. Never again will he try and rescue anyone whilst flying again! Unless the person in mind was Vivina of course. The amphitere ruffled his feathers and made an odd chirping noise, which was returned by a sharp hiss from Vivina. Is Seph a bird? Or is he a dragon? Both is what Vivina had concluded, although she admitted he seemed more bird. The lazy, good-for-nothing, cowardly dragon was nothing more than an oversized serpentine bird. Even so, Seph was loyal and would always be on Vivina's side when she needs him to be.
Vivina looked back out of the bush and noticed a black dragon. One look into his eyes and she instantly knew not to get on his bad side. She looked at Chath and wondered why such a boy like him would be stuck with such a nasty looking dragon, not knowing the true facts behind everything and jumping to conclusions, a bad habit she had picked up a while back. Deciding to ditch her hiding spot, she tumbled right out of the bush and greeted Chath and his dragon. " 'Lo there! Mind if me and my dragon join you, um, sitting?"
Sitting yes. That's what they were doing. Why not join them? Not like anything bad would happen if they sat...er, right?

Chath looked up reconizing the flying Squirell girl though he didn't believe he ever got her name. When was it..the hiking/camping thing? he couldn't recall. He offered a weary smile and a small laugh. "Well if you fancy sitting around on cement fun, sure come on and join us." He shot Keir a glare which the dragon promptly ignored, his focus was now on the new serpentine dragons that had entered the area.
Keir's dark gaze followed the feathered dragon, like a cat watching a bird, he mad no obvious signs of movements thus Chath thought it should be ok.
"I am Chath." he offered the name as well as his one banadaged hand to the girl, "I seem to remeber you but...I can't recal where." He said again laughing.

"Nothin' better to do for the time being. Guess sitting around and talking would be fun for a bit." Shrugging, she sat down right on the pavement of the parking lot. The pavement felt warm against her shorts, but not scalding hot. Good, she didn't want her bottom end to be burnt off. Looking back at Keir, she followed his gaze to Seph, who was now staring back at the black dragon. Better keep an eye out on Seph
Vivina took Chath's hand and shook it. "Name's Vivina. Come to think of it I think I saw you on that camping trip thing? Been a while. Oh, and this here's Fluffy, er, Sephayr."
A low annoyed growl signalled Seph's hatred for the nickname. Sephy he can take, but Fluffy was out of the question.
"Er...sorry Seph. Forgot I guess? Anyway, what's your dragon's name? He looks interesting, but I'm guessing I shouldn't pet him. Don't like the glare he's giving me and Seph. Is he normally like that?" She had only learned a little on other dragons and black dragons she knew least about, having been one of the many types of dragons she hasn't met before.

Chath managed a grin and used his banadaged hand to move the hari out of his eyes. "Yah I beileve it was the camping trip I first met you, but I didn't have my dragon the.." he stopped as Keir tugged on the rope a sharp yanked that was nearly torn from Chath's grasp.
Keir did not like being considered property, or a pet which is probably why he was so indignant towards this whole senario. "Keir!" Chath hissed to the balck dragon who only gave him a level eye and spat a long thin stream of acid in his direction.
The dragon was still working on aim however and the acid flew towards Vivina. Chath managed to bring an arm out and block it, though it caused the smell of burning flesh to immediately fill the surronding area.
"Gosh Keir!" Chath cried out, nearly dropping the rope when he clamped his bandaged hand onto the wound. He put on a brave face as the smell soon wafted away with the newly arrived breeze.
"Sorry about that," Chath started wincing as he removed his hand to reveal the nasty splatter like pattern of a burn on his skin. It had eaten away the first layer of skin but thankfullyl that was it. He took a bandage out from his short pockets and started to wrap it around the wound.
"Kier seems to think it is ok, to be bad like that..and yes he is normally in a foul temper..." he sighed, looking at Viv's well behaved dragon/serpant.
"You said your dragon's name is Sephayr? That is very beautiful. What kind of dragon is he?" he continued casting a glare at Keir's direction who snubbed him and pulled a peice of broken cement block and began to gnaw on it.

Vivina smiled and listened intently. Now she remembered. Chath didn't have Keir then. She was one of the older kids volunteering to go and so had quite a few kids around without dragons.
Her attention switched to Keir as he pulled Chath sharply. Managing a small squeak, she saw the stream of acid flying right at her face and was about to fall backwards to avoid it until a hand shot up to take the direct hit. Blinking to get together what just had happened, Vivina sat up straight and wrinkled her nose. Burning skin was not a very pleasant scent. Sephayr moaned from the scent and was soon hiding under one of his wings.
"Eek! Nasty! Are you ok Chath?" Almost at once Vivina was relieved as the scent blew away, however some of it lingered in her nose, making her sneeze. "Ugh...was that...acid?"
Vivina frowned at Keir, who was clearly ignoring her presence, and sighed as well. "Reminds me of someone I know back home. She and Keir would probably get along, if he wouldn't think of eating her." He laughed lightly and once she stopped, an awkward moment of silence fell upon the parking lot.
Sephayr, removing his head from under his wing, leaned closer to Vivina and Chath, smiling as he heard the compliment. Vivina pet the serpent on the nose and smiled herself. "He's a Mexican Amphitere. My mom says he's what the Aztecs though some god guy named Quetzacoatl was. Not surprising. The pictures in the books were of some feather-winged snakes."
Seph nodded at every single word and grinned proudly. The compliments and information was really boosting up his ego. Vivina gave him a warning look not to over do himself lest he end up like last time. Flying into a wall was not a pleasant experience.

Chath nodded his head s he finished putting the bandage on his arm. "Yah, found out that i Heal raelly quick so probably by tomorrow it will be healed over..." he finished using his teeth to rip the bandage at the end and tucking it in. "And yes...that was acid...apparantly when he gets older it will become much mroe potent.." Chath continued giving a glare at Keir who was now watching him in some mild interest.
"Well...I wouldn't put it past him to try and eat something... he tried the neighbors dog...which is why he is now on a leash.." Chath went on noticing that Keir was giving a very hard look to the boy. He tried not to look nervous.
"Now how could anyone mix up a winged snake with a dragon? I mean Sephayr is much more magnificant than any old snake." he continued checking on the bandage to make sure it was secure.
"Keir is a black dragon, I havn't gotten all the facts on him yet...I intend to rather soon. Most i know about him is that he is foul tempered, spits acid and like to bite the tips of my fingers." he continued wiggling his fingers in front of Viv to prove his point.
"To tell you the truth I am not sure what to do about hsi behavoir..." he whispered to Viv leaning in closer. Keir was now gathering the rope into his maw, nearly looked like the dragon was slurping up speghettii.

"Ooh, neat! Wish I can heal quickly. I just got fur and these membrane things that let me glide through the air. Nothing special." Vivina watched Chath apply the bandage carefully. She made a face when she found out that the liquid thing was acid. "More potent? Acid is bad enough no matter how weak it is. I learned that from messing around with Dan's experimental vials and such. Stupid chemicals and acids...don't even know what he uses them for." Disgusted at the topic of acids, she cautiously looked at Keir to see if he would react or not. She hoped he wouldn't maul her over any time soon.
"Would a fox be close enough to a dog? She's almost the same size as most dogs." Vivina shuddered at the thought of a dragon gobbling up the resident emo fox, even though the world would probably be better off without her.
Sephayr stuck out his tongue to emphasize the fact that he was better than a snake. No snake can beat him, although maybe poison could bring him down. Seph didn't bother to think about that. As long as he had pride in being a dragon and not some lousy bird-snake myth, he was happy. He grinned widely, baring his teeth.
Vivina laughed and continued stroking Seph's fur. "I dunno how anyone can mix up a dragon with some random bird-snake thing. I guess people weren't smart back then? That's what I learned." Vivina stared at the bandaged fingers, now understanding why they were bandaged in first place. "Ouch...guess you need all the luck to keep him behaved...Seph just needs to stop being lazy. All he does is fly quickly, tickle people like crazy with those tail feathers, and squeeze really tightly with his body. He did that once since he was trying to 'hug' me. I felt like I was going to get crushed."
Vivina leaned closer to Chath and frowned. She whispered back to his ear softly. "Hrm...me neither. I haven't dealt with anyone like Keir so I'm clueless. I don't think bribing him will work, even though it works most of the time with others. What to do indeed." Vivina glanced at Keir as well and held in a laugh. Spaghetti leash was on the menu for him for the time being.

"I would say gliding is pretty special." Chath noted Viv's dark eyes and luckily since his skin was so red already you wouldn't notice him blush as he turned his focus to the pavement in front of him. "I mean...I can't glide, it must be nice to be able to use air currents to keep yourself aloft." he continued watching Keir out of the corner of his eyes.
"I doubt Keir cares what breed of animal it was, if it is smaller than him he deems it prey." He replied and sighed as he watched the dragon gather the now shortened rope into his mouth.
But Keir had stopped, looking up, rope dangling from teeth watching Sephayr grin revealing rows of sharp teeth. The young dragon looked at the dangling rope and then spat it out, he moved from laying down to sitting and looking straight at Seph grinned as well. Monkey see...monkey do. though his was a less friendly sort of smile.
Chath moved a bit uncomfertable with Keir's behavoir. "Well..Keir hasn't attempted to fly yet, and I am glad that he hasn't tried to give me a hug...those claws of his..." he trailed off watching his dragon act rather peculierly.
"Bribing him?" He thought to himself, no..it wouldn't work on Keir...he wasn't the greedy type, he just was arrogant.

"Hehe, if you say so. Guess being the only flyer without any wings is special. I was in a flying class and everyone else had wings. One person didn't have feathered ones, but they were still wings." Vivina noticed that Chath had looked away from her and shrugged. "Mmm....flying is very nice...even though I'm only allowed to do it when my mom's not watching. Dunno why. Guess it has to do with safety."
"Hmm...well if he were to meet her, she'd be one tough prey to catch. Anyway, let's hope the two will never meet." Laughing to herself, she stretched out her legs in front of her and sighed.
Sephayr blinked and looked at Keir and his rows of teeth. Frightening those teeth were. He could swear that acid was coating those shiny teeth. In any case, he would not want to get near the black dragon just so he would be attacked. He didn't trust those teeth and that smile, but still he nodded at Keir and ruffled his feathers again. He has picked up a bad habit of doing so by watching the birds in the front yard all the time.
Vivina grew confused as to why Seph and Keir were acting oddly and shifted her sitting position to Indian-style. "Seph ran into a wall on his first attempt to fly. Not too graceful. I also flew on Seph's back without having any lessons. It wasn't long ago and I'm not allowed to try it again. Mr. Rikery just told me enough so I wouldn't fall off."
Seph looked at Vivina again and rolled up his eyes. Goodness no will he ever forget that day. Two children falling on him while supporting Vivina at the same time? Never again until he can actually hold more weight and he get proper flight lessons. He stuck out a long tongue and made a disgusted growl.
"Yeah...bribing is definitely not an idea. Not for someone like Keir." Vivina really didn't know what to do and sat there stumped, watching the dragons continue interacting with each other, if they were even interacting.

Chath thought about Viv's words, mainly about the flying with no wings part. "But...you can still become airborn without wings correct? that is a special gift." He said with a smile to her, "I can only swim, and sure i can regenerate but trust me...it is painful." he continued and then laughed at her comment about the fox.
"I wouldn't encourage him...he might think it a challenge." He said glancing at his dragon wondering what the beast was thinking.
Keir was watching Seph keenly, his own eyes narrowed as a drop of acid drooled out of the side of his jaw and pattered in a sizzle onto the cement floor, burning a small hole into it.
"Keir..." Chath hissed, the dragon turned it head to observe him but then seemed to turn his nose up at him and then went about to observer the sky.
Hearing Viv's description of Seph crashing into a wall he tried to hold back his laugh but failed miserable.
"Sorry sorry I don't mean to laugh, but it is a very funny scene." he explained calming his subsiding laughs.

Vivina shrugged and supposed what Chath said was true. "Well, yeah...I guess so. I can swim, but these membranes keep me from swimming fast. I usually float around and that's good enough for me. Losing a limb and regenerating it must be painful. I don't think I'll survive if I had an arm torn off right now." Vivina shuddered and left the thought there.
"Ooh, and I don't want to know the results." Shaking her head, she looked at the dragons again and raised an eyebrow. Was Keir drooling?
Sephayr too looked dumbfoundedly at the drool of acid and flinched as the concrete sizzled and burned. If acid did that to concrete, then the acid woul probably burn through his bones and possibly make him lose a limb or two. Seph remained calm and tilted his head as if he were asking a question. When Keir decided to look skyward, he lowered himself down and laid out on the warm concrete. He closed his eyes, not wanting to know what the other dragon was looking at.
Vivina fidgited in her position and turned back to Chath, only to laugh with him. She tried to calm herself down as quickly as possible to answer him. "Ahaha....it's ok. Everyone back home thought it was funny also. Seph didn't but he managed to sorta laugh." Vivina heard a snort from Seph, which only meant he didn't want to be reminded of it. Laughing again, she laid back on the concrete as well and looked up at the clouds. Big and poofy ones....small and whispy ones...all floating around in the sea of blue.

Chath winced at her words about surving a torn limb. He knew it was a comment being made in Keir's direction. Stupid dragon...he thought to himself looking at the black dragon and noticing the acid drool that had burned a hole in the concrete cement. He sighed.
He perked up some when she mentioned she could swim. "Swim? that is awesome...we should...go swimming sometime! I am a good swimmer, perhaps i can help you learn how to swim faster?" He asked trying not to sound too bossy, and not realizing that it sounded like he had just asked her out.
He was glad that Viv wasn't annoyed at him laughing at her dragon and was in fact a bit releaved. He watched as she laid back onto the concrete and he wondered if she was too warm.
"Um...if your too warm we could go find something to drink." he asked trying to sound cool. "My treat." he said proudly as he remembered to bring his small bag of change purse money with him.
Kier looked to Chath and his pathetic attempts at...flirting..at least that is what the dragon assumed the by was doing. He rolled his eyes, noticing that the flying squirrel girl was also looking up at the clouds like he was. Now there was someone who could appreciate simplicity and calming scenes.

Vivina smiled and blushed slightly. Was he asking her out? Giggling, she pushed her glasses back up. "Oh yes! It's been a while since I went swimming, and swimming lessons would definitely help a hopless swimmer like me."
Vivina sat back up and thought whether she was getting too warm or not. The concrete was warm and getting uncomfortable. The weather wasn't helping. And all this talking was making her thirsty. Suddenly, the thought of getting a drink was necessary. "Ooh, yeah...I am getting a bit thirsty. Where should we go to get some drinks?" She thought about whether D-Corp had vending machines and whether they would have to look for one or go to a store of some sort.
Sephayr grunted and opened one eye out of curiosity. He heard the word 'drink' and was suddenly reminded he needed some water as well. Not too much as to get his doused with it, but enough to cool himself off and to drink. He'd just have to be aware not to let his feathers get heavy with the water. They'd be such a burden with all that extra weight.
Jolting his head towards Keir, Seph blinked at the sudden compliment. Searching for some words to say, Seph sat back up again and sighed. Vur lauth ocuir vorel vaeri thrae 'Purring' a thank you for the compliment, Seph smiled and waved his tail back and forth at a steady beat. He longed to fly around at that moment, but would have to have Vivina's permission since he could simply lose himself in flight and not return, leaving Vivina to find him several miles away.
(Vague translation: And few see how beautiful I am as I dance in the air)

"Great, what day would you be free?" he asked stretching out his limbs and noticed his dragon had stopped chewing on the rope, though it was hopeless mangeled. He stood up and offered Viv his hand. "I think there is a vending machine somewhere on the compound. BUt we will have to search for it. I have some water in my mister if you are really really thirsty." he offered his smile bright on his face.
His poor niave self was starting to come to a realization that he was flirting. He blushed, his face growing redder than normal but he quickly coughed and looked away. "Ready?" he asked not withdrawing his hand as it might seem rude.
Keir let out what sounded like a sigh, he nodded at Seph's comment but didn't reply. What was up with this dragon? Watching as Chath stood and offered his hand to the young lady Keir got a sneaky idea he stood up as well, but laid a clawed foot onto the already shortened leash.
