I'm working my arse off trying to create a world of my own for D&D and so far I'm doing a halfway decent job of it. My question is this: If I got things worked out for some new races/classes, would you guys want to play in that world as long as I was running it? If so, then what of the standard races/classes would you want to play, and what is your preferred playstyle?

I've got a question. Would we have to pay to play it, or would it be free? I'll play only if you don't have to pay. I'd like to try a new race.

Totally free. I'd run it right here in the guild, and I'm willing to help people understand the rules better. If you can't shell out the $30 to get a PHB, then you can always download a .pdf on KaZaa or something like that. I use Limewire myself. I own most of the .pdf books I have, so it's legal for me since the .pdf files would be considdered a backup. And I'm planning on getting the ones that I don't have. ^^
I'm currently seeking help with balancing stuff on the Wizards community board, so as each thing gets balanced properly I'll post it here.

Okay, so four people have said yes here on the poll, that's enough for a standard party. The only thing that'd be tricky about running it here is battles as there's a lot of die rolling involved, and we'd have to wait on people's turns so they can post... Easiest way to do that would be for people to PM their die rolls to me and then I can post the battle stats in a single post... That or get everyone coordinated and into a chatroom through AIM, or even Gaia fishing. ^^
The roleplay would all be perfectly fine through the forum though...
The other possiblity is to run the game in a chatroom and then post the grand summary here in the forum so all can praise you for your wonderous acomplishments.
Any other suggestions?

My list of questions:
What kind of D&D? Original, First edition advanced, 2nd edition, 2nd revised, 3.0, or 3.5.
How would dice rolling work? While I consider myself honest for the most part, I would be sorely tempted in some situations to... ah,,, "massage the data" so to speak. My suggestion, the DM would handle all rolls (as I can't think of a situation the DM wouldn't need to see the roll anyway, or a situation where the roll must be secret from the DM. That way the all rolls would be done with a standardized set of dice or particular dice emulating computer program, and the randomization would be equivalent for all.
What is the frequency of game sessions, and how will they be held? (I know you've thrown some ideas out there already, but it is a very important subject) The chatroom suggestion seems the best IMO, and would be most similar to RL TT gaming experiences.
That being said, I'd be quite interested in joining up, after finals are finished of course.

I made games before, Contact me in you need some help. I also do Tags so I cold make the Games banners and such. As for playing it, if theres a Demon class I might give it a shot.

My buddy has been getting me into D&D. There are sites that offer the .PDF's of parts of the books and libraries have the books too. I'll definitely join.

hmmm 3nodding D&D sounds like an interesting game. but i'd only play if i'm not paying ^^" umm, i don't care much for race, just occupation. i'd like there to be theives or treasure hunters ^^
