what type of marker are you using? that might be the problem here since the line art look good on most of them.

i wont be mean, but i'll nitpick. i think Sox has a good question: what marker are you using? it could be part of the problem (marker quality means nothing for me; they destroy me at every turn). it looks a bit "dirty" in some places (not smooth in color, but blocking and having those stupid marker lines) also, it looks a bit, in some of these (the first, the lolita, the vampire, and the last one, for example) that you aren't sure of where the light is coming from. i think, considering you're using markers and its hard to get truly subtle shadows (well...i've never been able to) you should really decide on a light source to tell you how the shadows will fall. on the other hand, you've got some really great things going on in a lot of these. you seem to do well with folds and pose. my favorite out of these would probably be the lolita because you've got the wind, cute pose, and the colors work very well together. my least favorite would probably be the schoolgirl. the pose is well executed, but the hair and face look like maybe you were using too big of a marker and was unable to get the fine lines which would have been most appropriate in some areas. hope this helped some. if you have any questions about anything i said, feel free to ask.

Yay for Prismas!!
Ok, some tips on Prismas: You can blend the colors with them fairly easily while they are still wet. Don't wait until they're dry and don't be afraid to put colors on top of each other. Try to work with fairly large pics with good line art. Take your time, experiment, and best of all, have fun!
*Skin color tip* For the shading on the skin, put down the lightest color first, let it dry, add another layer of the same color on top for a slightly darker shade, then you can add a different color, wait for it to dry, and go over it with the original. This blends the colors together a bit better and gives you a little more variety even if you have a limited number of markers. biggrin

ChemieChan I've been meaning to start a topic about this but I'll ask here. biggrin Wich one is better prisma or copic markers? Does anyone know a website that sells them at a good price?i bought my 48 color prisma markers online for fairly cheap price. the web site had a special deal that week and they slashed the price of everything, so i guess i kind of got lucky. dont remember the website anymore though.... sweatdrop but you can probably find a cheap one on ebay. both prisma and copic markers are good, but copic is way more expensive (probably because you can also use it for airbrushing). i've never used copic before, so i can't say much. prism works well for me. and besides, i can't afford copic anyways.

Does anyone know a website that sells them at a good price?i'm not a marker person (i own prismas, though), but i was looking into it for a while and most people say that copic markers last like 2X as long as prismas, and they're refillable. i've also heard that prismas fade after about a year whereas copics dont? (not sure about that; it hasnt happened to me) copics are almost twice as expensive. it really depends on how much you're going to use them, i think. because i dont use mine all the time, prismas are better for me. i suppose if you were a pro artist, talented with markers, and/or rich, copic would be the way to go.
