Hehe, Van is one of the few spikey-haired young heroes that I actually like. So I guess he's cute in his own little way, he's just not my type. xd
I thought it was funny when Disney's "Treasure Planet" animated film came out, because the main character (was it Jim Hawkins?) looked a lot like Van. whee

Jammer Lea Hehe, Van is one of the few spikey-haired young heroes that I actually like. I especially liked that one episode when he got Moonbay and himself lost in the fog because he went chasing after a flying papaya whee I didn't care for him much in GF, by then he lost that sweet naive quality that I liked so much. But he is soo adorable in CC xd

Van is pretty cool for a main character. I think the best thing about him is the papayas. =D

"Chaotic Century" and "Guardian Force" are the same series. In Japan they're known as "Classic Zoids". Stateside they're officially called "Chaotic Century", but because they are distinguishable from each other, the second half of the series got unofficially dubbed "Guardian Force" since that's the group the heroes are with. Guardian Force takes place two years after Chaotic Century. It seems like it should be more than two years though. The characters matured so much. xp

Does anyone know how old Van is when the series starts out? I mean, I know the priest said he was 17, but he most definately doesn't look or act 17. If I remember correctly, I think he's supposed to be either 13 or 14...right?

He's supposed to be 14. In the Zoids Legacy GBA game, of the CC characters, they only gave Van and Irvine ages. Van is 14 and Irvine is 18.
