Legos are awesome and Star Wars is awesome, but crossovers tend to suck and games based on other media tend to suck. So I avoided Lego Star Wars entirely when I first heard about it.
Big mistake. The game is awesome.
Lego Star Wars is the best 2 player co-op experience since Kirby Superstar... or Sonic 3. Modern games have completely forgotten the value of a game 2 people can play together cooperatively. As someone who loved 2p co-op games, I was thrilled to finally see it in a recent game.
I spent a good 4 or more hours over the previous weekend playing through it with a friend, beating Episode 1 and 2. We both enjoyed every minute of it. It's the kind of game that we could sit down and play together at any time, just for the hell of it.
It's honest to goodness fun. I haven't been this impressed by a new concept in 3 years.

The best part is that the sequel comes out Sept 12.

I just simply didn't get it because I heard it was short. Cartoon Network (when they were doing game reviews awhile back) said it was fun, but easy and short.

Aye, it did seem pretty short. But I think it's the kind of thing you can play through multiple times and keep enjoying.
The new one coming out next month, even moreso. It's supposed to have tons of customization and secrets.

I might get it, but I might not. I haven't bought a game in a long time. And I saving my money for a Wii. Plus, short games aren't my thing.

There's tons of replay value, from trying to unlock that door with the "???" to unlocking all of the characters and cheats.
I got it on Christmas.
The sequel will also let you ride around in vehicles..

Can't say that much about the game, but the demo was pretty entertaining when I played it last year. xd

Obviously, you haven't played Ratchet: Deadlocked. THAT has to be the most hardcore co-op since Contra. But Lego Star Wars was fun enough. I'll wait for # 2. It's based off episode 4 - 6.
