Okay...you all know how the physics in Advent Children were crazy cool and how everyone can jump fifty feet in the air and run on the sides of walls?
My brother and I were talking...and well...how come when they reached the Shinra Building in the first disc of FFVII, Cloud didn't just have Barret launch him up and let him fly to the top? Instead they ran up the staircase (or...went through the entrance).
A little strange, eh?
Also...since EVERY character can jump freakishly high, doesn't this kinda make Cid's ability like...die out? He's supposed to be unique for his high jumping attacks and whatnot...but if everyone can do that...he's not that special anymore. sweatdrop
It'd be like Vincent turning his metal arm into a gun like Barret's. neutral
Anything else you've noticed that changed from FFVII to Advent Children?
Discuss...^_^

Well, running up the stairs in the ShinRa building had extremely worked out their legs causing them to have very high jumps!
As for Cid's ability, it's because he's a lancer, and that automatically makes him cool. So any and all jumpign abilities are null and void until needed so.
Things I noticed:
-Where are Buggenhaggen's legs? (off topic) -What happened to Yuffie's leg brace in AC? -Who put the ram in the ramalama ding dong if Aeris is dead o_O?

Doubt that. sweatdrop
I know they were trying to make the best fight scenes of all time...(though I wasn't really impressed because I prefer a tad more realistic...like the old FFVII).
But you wouldn't see a knight character doing a bunch of jumps like crazy...that'd be for a lancer to do... sweatdrop
So it takes away from...his specialness. Each character is special for something.
They changed the outfits in AC a little so...well...What happened to Cid's jacket and scarf?
And Tifa's more loose clothing? And...and...yeah. sweatdrop
I guess wearing the same thing all the time got boring... xp

Well, they were all still very low-level fighters at the time of the Shinra raid. By the end, their strength increased many times. But in addition, the animators also wanted it to look better (which I personally thought it did)

They have an extra two years of leveling on top of the few months in the game.
[Game Spoilers] Besides, Cloud could fly in the game (remember at the promesed land, just before he gave the Black Materia to Sephiroth)..

No such thing as high jump materia...or at least not in the game. sweatdrop
And I don't think two years of leveling up is going to make someone go from running around using normal transportation, to running up walls and jumping like a flippin vampire. gonk
And Cloud was being posessed by Sephiroth in that part...I don't think he could actually fly...or else he would've done THAT to get up to the Shinra Building in the game. sweatdrop

Mako18 Just a small joke lol In all honesty though, would this kind of an action movie hold up to that name if these people took turns, waited for their turn and stood in formation during battle? No but they could've at least made normal looking fight scenes. sweatdrop Maybe use some of the moves they used in the game, but in a real time battle? sweatdrop

The answer is simple. The laws of physics changed for the main characters and villains and them alone. While they where all in the centre of the planet they must have all gone through a physical and dimensional change which had a delay of two years.
Either that or fiction doesn't always make sense.

Taylor_Highwind Um...
I...kinda doubt that. sweatdrop Usually when I make an overly-science post I'm kidding. What I was trying to say in the second part of my post is usually in anime or games any sequel or prequel don't have the same physics engine as the original.
