The soft summer sun had long set behind the long horizon. It was certainly a recipie for distaster, Rain and the night. The female Soquili was known for her night runs, comming dangerously close to running into many, but stopping short before her falter. Stars sprinkled the sky as little white dots on giant apaloosa. For now Rain was content to stand there, at the edge of her death, staring at this vast void above her.
Her feet stood precariously on the edge of a precipice. The hardened red rock was barely visible during the night, making the ground drop below her in an illusion that would chill many to the bones. Not Rain, she was built for adventure and danger, the more of it she could harness, the better.
Far below her the moon caught the glint of a river, its silver service winding about charred grasses and pines. A fire had swept through during the earlier parts of the day, leaving nothing standing in its path. The source could not be determined, a fire of such proportions had not appeared in years and it was something of inquisition to the mare. Her ears rotated to catch the passing of a nearby owl, and she turned to watch it mometarily.
Soon she grew bored with her position and wheeled on her hind legs to begin her journey downwards.
Rain wasn't the largest of mares, but she certainly had a need for speed. Her long legs carried her fast and far, but left her vulnerable in the eyes of many stallions. Of course she was none to welcome to play along with their weaving fantasies, teasing and toying them to get what she so desired. The woman were no different, they fell to her like stones, giving her their trust in a minute. They had every reason to do so, Rain might just give them the very heart they desired, but she found joy in switching between many Soquili despite her young age.
Only 5 years come this spring, she was already well known across the lands, though she chose private life by stealing away in the night. Not many came out during this time, finding it scary to behold. One misstep and you could go tumoulting over the edge of a cliff resembling the one at which she had just been standing. Letting out a snort, she broke into a trot, winding her way down the side of the rockface. A severe drop was on her left, and it would be a good hour till she made it to the bottom for the elevation declined heavily.

(( ;0;! So sorry Keal, Law and order distracted me.))

Even in the darkness she stood out against the harsh setting, her vibrant purple haze stroking across the orange hues like a shadow. Crackled and dry, it was not the kind of landscape the lean and dainty female was used to trolling. She could feel the earth around her about as strongly as one felt wind, but the lack of life around her burned at the corners of her eyes.
It was quiet here though; and for that she was appreciative. For the time it was only the gentle tinkle of the beads in her mane, and the light clop of her hooves as she moved- but within moments a sudden thundering of hooves echoed into her ears. At once her neck muscles flinched and the violet creature flared her nostrils in brief concern.
She liked her quiet, and she liked to be seen less then she saw others. She’d never learned if it was a stigma of her kind, or just an odd tick- but she grew cautious around them. Ophelia never judged. But she always held caution. It gave her the appearance of being as dodgy as smoke.
But there was no time to hide as the other female barreled past, and she stood still while the dappled female skirted across the way. She might have liked to believe she could remain unseen- but even in the light her silver horn flashed and the various trinkets in her hair and throat flickered in the dull night.
Wide-eyed, the small creature shifted, watching the wild female.

(( No problem Were I forgot to put Rain's picture. ::is bad:: ))

Rain barely had time to react before the sharp sting of purple met her eyes. She almost let out a choking call of warning, but realized that it wouldn't do much good. So simply she put on the brakes and teetered past the other mare on the dangerous edge. For that brief moment even she feared for herself, her balance not quite perfect. The ground seemed so far below, and a few images flashed before her mind.
Her feet hit solid ground again, a brief reminder that she hadn't fallen and it was still a long ways to go. A rush of wind swept through her nostrils, billowing up as white smoke, dancing with the soft moon rays. She smiled faintly at this, almost ready to keep going, for she, too, liked her quiet, but remembered her hospitality and turned.
The mare at which she stared was quite a sight. The purple was hard to distinguish against the faded light, but it only brougth forth the silver upon the other with startling effects. Rain took several moments merely to survey the other, then finally shook her head and took the chance moment to walk forward a bit.
She offered her nose in greeting, her tail flicking ambly behind her.
The moons glow did justice to her body, setting it alight with an iridescent glow. The startling sheen of white was suddenly slashed in half by darkness, marking the brown of her coat. However, beneath it all set two ice blue eyes, ones that seemed to soften when she looked at another.

Ophelia made a soft noise in her throat as the mare turned around, perking her ears upward. The other female had made no real calling towards her, but Elia was used to a certain level of silence whenever she made such appearances. She took a slight step to the side, the end of her whip tail gently bobbing behind her as she registered the other. Not too large a mare, but still a bit bigger then her.
She had a wildness to her that was so foreign to the purple creature that she could only admire it. She was far too demure to indulge in such behavior- but there were times when she almost wished...
“Hello-“ The unicorn spoke cautiously. It was hard to tell how others might react nowadays. Her hind flinched and she picked up a hoof. “Such running, you must be tired!” The female admitted, her silver eyes widening somewhat.

Rain gave the other a quiet smile, ears flicked forwards to take in the others words. She waitied until the other mare had completely finished with her speach for she herself began.
"No," she responded simply, jumping up a bit and kicking out her heels. "I live to run." Her gaze flicked back to the cliff edge again, its depths still haunting her. It had been close, too close.
It took several moments more before Rain noted the horn on the others head. It was rare to glimps a Unicorn, and even rarer still to manage to keep one enough to talk. They were either to shy, or to proud to speak to you. She found it annoyingly tedius and so had long given up on trying to greet the breed.
"You are awake at a strange hour of the night, friend." The answer was obvious, of course. No doubt it was the only time the mare could avoid being seen. But why? Certainly the searched for another's company at certain times in their life. Some days Rain wished she was born a uni just to have this bit of knowledge come to head.

The sudden movements by the other mare briefly startled her, although she managed to keep herself grounded out of dignity. Her back arched and nostrils flared, before gauging that the other was simply expressing her glee at running. Apologetically she smiled and flattened her sleek ears. Her kind had a quiet way about them- at least, those who stuck to the old ways. She couldn’t feel the vivaciousness the other had in her veins, but it was good to see raw enthusiasm. She hated to see gloom.
“It’s good to have something to live for.” The female spoke softly, and lowered her head to fix her own wild mane. “I’m afraid I don’t sleep much. I move when I can-“ Namely, when no one was around. But avoiding others was not really her goal...but with a slight shifting of her legs, she realized she had no idea what it was she wanted.
“-Well,” The female smiled somewhat, and rose her head. “I enjoy the quiet.”

Rain stepped back a bit, taking the pining of the ears as a typical sign of 'back off'. For her kindred, physical signs were everything and though it may have been apolegetic to the Uni, Rain did not wish to encroach upon the others space. They were intriguing, this breed, not fiery like the Kalona, and to be truthful she thought that she liked them better. If one were too quiet they quickly became a bore. Those with to much heart chased her away. It didn't occur to her that one could have something so pure. It was an impossibility. Those with love, she thought, feared death and the death of others. It was a simple tiding of life, and any who thought otherwise were simply crazy. Of course, she did not voice her opinions knowing to well that others liked to exist in this perfection of love and peace and all that nonsense.
She nodded solemly at the others statement. Indeed, it was. There would be no point in living if there was not something to live for. That cliff would look mighy inviting then.
"What do you live for?" It was a rude question at best, but Rain felt no guilt in asking it.
The quiet. It was as she had guessed yet-
"The sky's beautiful isn't it?" Her gaze had shifted to the sky, admiring its beauty, as she often did. She liked to think she soaked the rays of the ever glowing moon, it was her river and her lover and everything in between. When she felt alone she turned to the moon for guidance.

“Live for?” She asked calmly, almost perplexed. “I don’t need to live for anything. I simply am.” Coming from another, it might have been a disappointing, if not saddening statement. But Ophelia truly did not understand what it meant to live for anything. She existed, and that was her purpose. Nothing kept her heart, or even her interest, for long. She adored far too much to be held to one entity.
Her head rose to the sky, and her eyes blinked dully towards it. “I enjoy the night, but I’ll always enjoy the day better. I fear I’ve seen far too many nights.” The hot, burning sun- that would always be her totem. She admired the moon, and she thanked the night for it's cover. But never did she confuse herself with a creature of the night.
"For one who does so much running- are you going someplace?" Ophelia asked, jostling her long neck.

How dull, Rain thought. How could one not live for something? She decided then and there that if all the corns were of this nature she was glad not to have been birthed one. She lusted after her wild nature with umatched verocity and because of this was automatically entranced by those that stepped outside of the bounds of natural action. It was what made her entrhalled by the Kalona. Their mysteriousness and pride, finding no love in any but their own kind.
Rain could never imagine herself seeing to many nights. They held so much beauty and ambiguity. The day had its charisma as well, though she could not look at the sun for it burned her eyes. It was this aspect that made her loathe the brightness. She wished to look everywhere, but the sun would not let her.
A gentle smile crossed her face, her voice sang out like the birds. "I suppose I go wherever my heart takes me." A laugh escaped her throat. "The wind wills me to follow it where it would. Do you not sometimes wish to run until you can no longer, falling into the soft dew grass to marvel in the wonders of the earth undestrurbed by another. Never is there such freedom!" It was apparent that this was her passion and even talking she grew restless, switching weight from foot to foot.
