the story-
There had been a big bang last night around 11:30 but Koyla had been too busy sleeping so he didn’t really care about that noise that echoed throughout the bayou.
The next day he took his usually boat ride around his property, He stopped at the old tree stump that had been in the swamp almost as long as he had. Koyla looked at the stump something must have hit it, for it was much smaller and charred. Koyla followed the derbies he assumed that an air boat had hit the stump. Teenagers no doubt; He decided that it wasn’t his loss and started back to his house when a flicker of light from a tree caught his attention.
He maneuvered over to the tree too see a prop, brand new at that, hardly damaged as well. Koyla grinned ‘score’ for him, he pulled it off the tree and put it gently on the boat floor he jumped when something fell out of the tree right after he took the prop out. He looked down to see a youth, freshly killed. His head snapped to attention when he heard a moan, he didn’t look at the body, the moan came from the right of him.
He looked over to see another youth pinned to a tree by shrapnel. This one was alive, Koyla watched in morbid fascination as the youth who didn’t panic, pull pieces of metal out of his body, with his left hand. The right Koyla noted was on a tree branch in what looked like a death grip.
He let out a small gasp as the youth pulled itself up onto the branch. It’s eyes snapped to Koyla. A warning growl was let out, and then to Koyla surprise it dropped from the tree into the water. He waited it did resurface; but it no longer moved. Koyla without a second thought cruised over and scooped the boy out and headed home.
Koyla came into the room he was storing the dead body; he looted the wallet and clothes. He checked the license.
“Ryan McLean?”
Koyla snorted the name was funny sounding, he kicked the body. He got up and headed up to the place he put the wounded boy. He looked over the boy he was wearing a wet suit and a small leather vest over the top of it. Koyla picked at the vest before peeling it off, and tossing it away.
He poked the boy’s stomach not actually wanting to strip the boy, and have that dirty feeling haunting him for the rest of the day. He continued to poke the boy until the boy groaned and forced himself away from the troublesome finger.
“What were you doing so late at night?”
“Mfgh.”
Kouki looked at the man asking his questions. He paused telling him ‘I was swimming the bog’ was not a good idea.
“I don’t remember.”
Kouki kicked himself inwardly he was being like X now, and he didn’t really like it. He watched the others face almost worried. The man was thinking about it then he nodded.
“That makes sense, you were in an explosion.”
Kouki made a nervous sound that was taken the wrong way by the man.
“Don’t worry I don’t bite.”
Kouki nodded, and looked away, he saw his ruined vest and sighed, he’d make another one later. Kouki pulled the zipper down and removed himself from the top of the wet suit.
“Nice, strip tease.”
Kouki just ignored that comment, as he looked at his wounds they were mostly healed. He paused and looked at his gloves still on, that was good. He held his head with them.
“So, are you letting me stay?”
“Sure, until you can remember why you were out, tell me and you can leave.”
Kouki sighed, this could work to his advantage.
“Okay, but I don’t know how long it will take.”
“I’ll wait forever.”
With that the man disappeared. Kouki ignored the sexual innuendos that seemed to come out at the man’s last sentence. He checked himself over and found his cell phone fried by the water, he sighed. He would need to fix it somehow. Kouki pulled the wet suit all the way off and grimaced at his soggy trunks.
“Here some clothes.”
The man dropped the articles off gave Kouki a demented smile and walked off. Kouki grabbed the garbs and closed the door and changed luckily the clothes covered his tattoos he felt better about that. He didn’t need people prying into his heritage. He looked at his wet suit he needed to keep it. He opened another door in the room and found the bathroom he put it in the tub and washed it clean and then hung it up on the towel rack he walked back into the room to find the man watching his. Kouki felt the color drain from his face, as he was hit with a sudden nausea.
“What’s your name?”
“Anson.”
“Last?”
“Shad.”
“Anson shad, nice to met you I’m Koyla hadal.”
“Nice.”
Was all Kouki muttered before he ran to the bath and vomited his insides up. He had given his ‘fake name’ Nova had insisted each of them come up with a normal personality to fit in while undercover.
Anson Shad was an environmental nut, which was all Kouki could think off, that was what he had always wanted to be; but he had been denied that so his cover personality would be his dream.
the end so far...

Chapter2~Panic at the bayou
So maybe panicking and running away wasn’t a good idea, but was it Kouki’s fault not really he did have a panic attack after all, and at the time it had been brilliant, but the repercussions had been horrid.
How does a man with fake amnesia explain his mad get away to his captor who was currently staring him down from his awkward position in his captor’s arms? Answers have another panic attack, or that was kouki’s response it seemed to work, well the asphyxiation part worked quite well, in hindsight anyways.
Koyla panicked when Anson froze up and seem to have a heart attack in his arms, but the man’s heart was beating wildly in his chest Kolya freaked out when he noticed Anson wasn’t getting air. Koyla focused his powers and jumped back to his house, via his magic.
He placed Anson on his bead as he gave him his best form of CPR from watch the ER and other TV shows. He sighed in relief as Anson started to breathe again. He turned to tend to the man’s injuries broken legs, honestly he told the man that he wouldn’t be able to leave until he remembered, but the man tried to leave and fell into a ditch on his property and broke both his legs. Well at least he would be escaping any time soon.
Kouki woke to find himself tucked into a bed tightly and a dull throb in his lower region. Odd very odd, wasn’t he out side? Falling through the earth? Must have had another panic attack the only explanation Kouki could think of. Come to think of why was he having panic attacks? They usually only occurred during the waning of the moon.
Kouki forced himself up in the bed and cried out he couldn’t feel his legs. His ear twitched as he looked for the noise and saw Koyla slide smoothly out of the shadows. Kouki narrowed his eyes, the man wasn’t there before well his heart beat hadn’t occupied the corner before that faint noise that caught his attention.
‘crap, explanation….’
“Oh god I’m seeing things.”
Kouki muttered before leaning back into his bed and closing his eyes.
Koyla blinked his ears perked up Anson shad was stirring; he smiled and decided to ‘pop in’. He closed his book and slid into the shadows. He shifted out of the corner of the room to see Anson looking directly at him. Koyla paused had he heard him? Impossible, Anson was mortal after all. He waited he saw the man’s eyes narrow before catching the softly spoken ‘I’m seeing things’ remark before the man settled down.
Koyla pondered he’d heard of bionic senses in pregnant women, perhaps Anson was pregnant. He snorted at that Idea absolutely ridicules he would have smelt, and heard the other life form, unless it hadn’t developed yet; But Anson was clearly male and therefore could never conceive a child.
He stalked up to the bed and lowered his face to the man and sniffed him for good a measure. He smirked as he drank the earthy smell as well as pure magic. He paused magic was not attracted by most mortals, quite a conundrum, Koyla pulled away, pure magic no less he scratched his chin. Perhaps a visit to his library would help him figure this scent out.
‘Did he just sniff me?’
Kouki dared not to move as Koyla hovered over his body and sniff him. He fought off a shiver as he feigned sleep with his slowed breaths. When he felt air brush past him and the door close he sighed quietly before he felt for his legs.
“Crap…How did I break them? The hole!”
Kouki raged silently who would have a huge hole in their lawn? He vented his anger what did Koyla do in his spare time? Dig holes in his yard the only firm land for miles? Was he an idiot? ‘No he wasn’t’ the small voice in his head rebuked him. ‘It was you who fell in the hole, and so you must dig yourself out.’ Kouki grunted his head voice was right even though he hated to admit it. Kouki decided to turn back to his broken legs staring at them, as if they insulted him. He healed fast so he didn’t need to worry, but he did. He was stuck he with the pervert Koyla.
“Oh joy, broken legs and being stuck here.”
Kouki rubbed his eyes before finally going off to lala-land. Koyla grinned as he watched Anson beat himself up over his legs watching the man’s face become enraged had been most amusing to watch especially when the anger was directed at his own legs as if they were the traitors. He waited till the man conked out again before he entered with a book and vial. Nasty surprise for Anson, he would heal the legs and then imply that the man had gotten the flu; the vial would help with both. The book was for him.

Chapter 3- red hot forehead blues.
Kouki shot out of the bed what had happened?
“Relax Anson.”
Kouki didn’t respond that wasn’t his name, he crawled out of the bed and tried to head for the window before he was grabbed from behind.
“Relax.”
“What happened?”
“You have the flu for a few days.”
“Oh.”
~flash back~
Kouki was hot he tried to get up, he needed a drink pain gave him a dull hallow feeling in his legs. He pushed himself out of the bed. Pausing at a slight noise, the room swayed the ground seemed to ungulate like large ocean swells. Kouki grunted as his vision faded out his ears rang, and it wouldn’t stop. He clawed at his ears as he sank down on his hollow legs. He screamed in a confused rage.
~end flashback~
“That was the flu?...wow.”
Koyla smirked Anson was not that gullible.
“My foot feels weird?”
“Ah, you see when you ran outside you fell into a sink hole, and twisted your ankle, its still healing.”
Kouki blinked a bit in mild confusion before he nodded. Kouki was sure his legs had been broken, well if not that had been a pretty bizarre dream about breaking them. A dream that ended with him falling asleep. He was sure dreams ended when you woke up. He looked at Koyla suspiciously.
“Why are there holes on your property?”
Kouki watched Koyla’s face grin again.
“Sink holes are quite common here.”
Koyla said happily, he pulled the sheets back so he could get Anson out of the bed. He gripped Anson’s shoulder before he started to tug.
“Hey?!”
“You need a bath, you reek.”
Kouki pushed the hand away, he tried to get up, but he pushed up with his inflamed ankle he screamed as the pain attacked him. He fell into the arms of Koyla, who smiled at the good fortune and dragged Kouki to the bathroom.
“I hope you can wash yourself.”
Kouki made a pitiful noise, as Koyla dropped him in the tub. Kouki waited for Koyla to leave before he removed his shirt, and later with much effort his pants. It took Kouki awhile to figure out how to use the taps to fill the bath. He found the soap and smelled it. It was pungent mixture of lilac and urine, Kouki looked at the soap before deciding he was not going to use something that smelled like that.
Kouki emerged 30 minutes later to find Koyla waiting with some clean clothes. He was smiling as he handed the clothes to Kouki. Kouki grabbed them and retreated back into the bathroom. The shirt was see-through; Kouki curled his lip in disgust. He pulled up the trousers and wrapped the towel around his neck. He opened the door and poked his head out, Koyla smiled and waved. Kouki cursed his luck this man was a freak.
“May I please have a shirt that is not transparent?”
Koyla’s grin faded a bit. He left the room, his return was quicker then expected. He shoved a thick shirt into Kouki’s chest, he was frowning.
“Thanks” Kouki scuttled back into the bathroom.
Kouki shook himself; he had holed himself up in the bathroom for half an hour hoping koyla would leave the room. No such luck, Kouki tilled his head he still heard the shallow breaths that seemed forced. Kouki sighed as his stomach finally complained. He opened the door and pushed it, he did start moving until he saw Koyla’s ugly mug.
“What took so long?”
“Resting.”
Kouki hoped his answer was enough, his stomach complained again. Koyla’s lips curled again. He grabbed Kouki’s arm and pulled him out of the room.
“Since your going to be here awhile I suggest you don’t try my patience.”
Kouki shivered and pulled away rather violently which caught Koyla off guard. Kouki stumbled to the ground and scrambled away on all fours.
Koyla paused as he smelt fear wash over him; he reached out and grasped the banister. He refused to give into his instincts, to chase Anson, to play with the man till he died. His resolve started to crumble as he heard the escalated beating of Anson’s heart in his ear. His hand clenched the wood causing it to splinter.
What had caused Anson to react like that? Koyla couldn’t ponder that question as he was slowly giving into the want for hunting the scared prey. He bared his teeth as his hand left the banister, he grinned before he followed the scent of fear.
Kouki stopped at a window, he looked out it was the second story at least. He swallowed his fear as best he could. He unhinged the windows and pushed them open, he paused when he hear wood crunch. His ears twitched Koyla was heading this way, abnormally fast. “he’s a vampire…” Kouki exclaimed quietly, fear over took him again. Once he realized how dangerous this was. He jumped out of the window and rolled on impact, he crouched over and continued on his four legs letting his true nature emerge.
Kouki panted as he sat with a tree to his back, he was unused to the heat and humidity. His ears twitched Koyla was here no doubt watching his from the shadows. Kouki let out a snarl which ended in bared teeth.
“Vampire.”
Kouki snorted with hate. As Koyla approached, laughing darkly.
“you don’t know half of it.”
Kouki tensed his legs as he watched the vampire come closer. Kouki wouldn’t win in a fight so close to the full moon, but his blood was deadly to vampires if they consumed to much, which only happened if they were excited. A grim sneer crossed his face Koyla was indeed excited.

Chapter 4~one cent of the blood I found
Kouki let out a warning growl, as Koyla approached.
“Anson what a pleasant chase, I’m afraid that tonight will be your last.”
“Stay back!” Kouki cried out angrily.
He was trying to pull off his gloves without drawing the vampire’s eyes. Koyla was leering, Kouki thought it was odd. Then he realized that the man must be fighting his instincts, and felt pity for the man.
“Koyla?”
It was if that word unhinged the fragile control the man held over his instincts. Koyla lunged at Kouki, who managed to dodge. He only had one glove off; the other was trapped in Koyla’s grasp. Who was gloating about it as he swung Kouki into a tree, while bending the arm in an odd angle.
“Stop!”
Kouki screamed his arm was on fire as Koyla bent it behind his back. His free claw tore into Koyla’s back. The vampire chuckled and somehow made the pain worse, till there was a distinct popping noise that was punctuated with a scream from Kouki. The vampire pulled back licking his lips, his prey wouldn’t escape now.
Kouki let out a strangled sob his arm hurt, and the vampire had hung him up by the arm, nailed it to the tree with a branch of the same tree. His heels touched the ground but that was it another sob escaped the vampire was just watching him hang limp. He squeezed his eyes as tears rolled down his face, he hadn’t cried in so long. The pain made kouki’s vision blur, he felt warm air on his face. He glanced up to see the vampire just watching him, a finger swept up a tear and disappeared in the vampires mouth.
It was then that Kouki tried to back away only to pull on his arm causing his to cry out, and a fresh wave of tears came. The vampire smiled and gripped Kouki’s head firmly before tilting it to the side. Kouki jerked away when he felt hair tickle his neck.
“No, no, no…”
Kouki repeated in a desperate attempt to escape this nightmare. The vampire laughed into his neck, something wet darted against his skin and he jumped. His arm burned painfully, his other arm went straight for the vampire’s neck. Catching the vampire off guard, he dug his claws into the soft skin if he could get them deep enough the venom would be administered he could hope. The vampire pulled back violently trying to get the claw off its neck. Kouki managed to kick the vampire in the gut.
The vampire doubled over, and became still. Its head lifted and glared at Kouki, a tongue darted out and caressed its own fang before it attacked again. Kouki kicked only to find the Vampire between his legs using on hand to push a leg over the vampire’s shoulder. Kouki’s claw slashed as the venom was released into the vampire’s neck, the vampire used its other hand to press on Kouki’s wind pipe. The vampire threw its head back and laughed as it crushed Kouki’s neck in its hand.
Kouki’s claw fell from the vampire’s neck as he struggled to breath. Both of his legs were in an awkward position and the vampire was back to nuzzling his neck. He shivered as the vampire licked a spot, and let go of another sob; he was so weak he hated himself. The vampire let go of his neck and gripped his hip, while the other hand pulled him away from the tree trunk. Kouki cried out in his hoarse voice his arm was still nailed to the tree. The vampire ignored him and continued to prepare the spot for his drink.
Kouki closed his eyes and became limp in the Vampire’s clutches as the creature bit into his neck and started to feed. The vampire pulled back and kissed him on the lips; Kouki became rigid and tried to push the vampire off again. The vampire smirked and lowered its fangs back to the bloody mark.
“Get off, off…”
Kouki clawed the vampire; his movements became slow and jerky as he lost his conscience. His body sagged into the vampire who pulled back and inspected his victim, the vampire frowned his neck burned. His hand went up to the wound as he pulled away a green film; he looked at it and then picked up Kouki’s claw and stared. The Vampire pulled away his belly burned; it felt like he had just consumed alcohol from his mortal time.
Kouki woke up on a bed, he was strapped down and his body wouldn’t stop shaking. His neck hurt, he cried out as he recalled the other day’s events. Fear flooded him he was still alive and currently tied down to the bed, not a good sign. His neck ached, as he tired to breathe deeply. It hurt his arm throbbed too, he turned his head a bit to see his hands tied together.
Koyla entered the room, a bandage on his neck; he staggered a bit till he landed with a soft thump on the bed’s edge.
"What are you Anson? That isn’t your name is it?"
Koyla looked over Anson’s body the tattoos on the arms and thighs glowed, he had looked it up in his library and gotten nothing. He waited, he could smell fear coming from Anson.
“Names…Kouki, I’m a monster.” Koyla looked at the man, who was crying.
“Monster?”
“Ethereal” Kouki chocked out Koyla’s finger rested on his lips.
“Shh…”
Koyla leaned over Kouki and untied his hands. Kouki fisted the bed sheets and turned his head away from Koyla. Koyla fingered the bite mark on Kouki’s neck. He had not killed Kouki, yet he could not sire him either Kouki’s blood was dangerous. What to do? This case was against vampire etiquette he could neither kill nor sire the creature he drank from. He rested his hand on Kouki’s fore head.
“I’m sorry, I can neither end or sire your life.”
“I know…”
Koyla stopped but why couldn’t they be friends? He didn’t live near any other vampires and he never thought he find an ethereal those things were like dragons; the stuff of legends. “Kouki, Stay please I’ll take care of you.”
Kouki sniffled why? Why stay with the man who attacked and hurt him? The man who made him feel weak? Beat him into submission? He tried to turn over only to have his arm protest. “I can’t…work...you hurt me”
Koyla made a puppy face. "It was my fault, I haven't fed in months. Who do you work for?”
“Nova.”
“I’ll contact him then, sure he wouldn’t mind hearing from the white shield wolf again.”
Kouki took a deep breath, for some reason he felt safe if Nova knew this vampire. White shield wolf? Yes Nova spoke highly of him, something about being dependable and to his word. He turned back to Koyla who was watching him with something akin to joy in his eyes.
“Yes that would be nice…”
No more work; work that had taxed Kouki from the start. The face Koyla made was priceless; though it turned to a wicked calculating after a few seconds.
“Nothing against my will.”
Koyla looked offended a bit before he got up and left to call nova. Kouki sighed he could live with this; Koyla had learned of his weapons and would be less inclined to jump him he hoped.
