A six foot tall man stood tall, looking at the other person, eyeing his movements. A non bender versus a bender. The crowd, who seemed to be flirting off from this battle to go view the other--more enjoyable--fights, stayed silent. They knew it would be over. They knew that a non-bender would always lose to the highly trained skills of a bender.
Karthan, The Dark Knife, however, mimicked the crowd. He remained silent, viewing his firebender-clothed opponent.

On the south side of the field Kilsalt stood. His blood red eyes fled to the other side of the battlefield, where his blodo red orbs fell upon a tall black-clad figure. That was his opponent.
Then, the second that the ref' said 'fight', the man rushed forward toward the center of the field. He quickly placed himself in the center of the ring formed by the two cresent shaped pits. As he moved into a relaxed fighting position, with his torso facing the western side of the right and his face--along with his fists--in the direction of Karthan, his eyes remained focused on the cloaked-one.

The Dark Knife ceased to exist. He had disappeared from the stage, moving at such a speed toward Kilsalt that he was nigh invisible to all the bystander's lazy eyes. However, even to Kilsalt's heavily trained and focused vision, the 6'4 shroud would be unable to be seen.
And a fourth of a second later Karthan would be seen again by the viewers of the battle. With a 10" blade stabbing downward in his right hand, the man moved from above Kilsalt, moving downward in a startling blur. If the knife connected the blade would most likely cause Kilsalt's right pauldron to be sent into the crowd--along with Kilsalt's arm.

A shatter could be heard. Kilsalt fell down, onto his face, bleeding from the catatrophic wound on his shoulder blade. Luckily enough he had been able to see the shadow of his opponent before he began his descent. From that small bit of knowledge he had moved forward by an inch, barely dodging a strike that would rip off his arm.
However, even though he dodged the brunt of the damage, he found that he was unable to move from the full on force of the dagger user's stab. The Knife had connect his knife into the firebender's shoulder plate, making it shatter, and sending shards into the neck of Kilsalt. Along with the small bits of metal in Kilsalt's neck, the blunt force on the shoulder plate sent shockwaves into his spine.
Stunned and stuck, the ref' called the battle in Karthan's favor. Within ten seconds of the battle beginning, it was over.

Karthan stood there, standing above the beaten bender. Too easy, he thought to himself, as he turned away from the corpse. The crowd also thought the same thing, thinking about the wasted time they had lost by trying to get good seats.
They booed, sending small vegetables toward the field, and continued in the way that angry crowds would. But Karthan didn't mind the crowd. He walked toward the southern exit of the stage, moving silently while dodging the many randomly thrown pineapples.
