 Obie could not have been more furious with her sister than she was at this exact moment. The little blond witch had seen it fit for her amusement to not inform her of her departure until she had burst into her bedroom earlier this morning demanding to know how she was going to be getting to the airport. Seriously... Obie could have killed her.
Now it was pushing four o'clock and Obie had left her phone in her room in her hurry to get Isabel out of her life again. Her flight had been delayed and she had had to endure the hours creeping by, imagining how upset Ra was going to be with her for not showing up when they had agreed. Arriving at the school, she paid the taxi driver and fairly ran to the dorms.
Please don't be mad at me, she pleaded silently as she ran up the steps and slowed her pace only a hair as she started down the hall to his room. Pausing outside his door, she closed her eyes and took a deep breath. Forcing herself to relax, she ran a hand through her hair and knocked.

 At 12:30 Ra wondered why Obie was late, at 1 he was worried and phoned to no answer. At 2 he gave up and flopped down onto his low bed. It was just like before, with Chii. She had ignored him after their kiss too, he was definitely cursed.
Sighing he turned on his stereo and lay back on his bed, by 3 he had dozed off into a fitful sleep 3:45 his phone woke him. It was his mother. As he listened to her ramble he heard the knock at the main door and decided to go and investigate, his mother still rabbiting on in his ear and asking questions about school.
As he answered her in Farsi he pulled the door open and was suprised to see Obie on the other side. Giving her a broad smile he waved her in as he gave his mother the run down of his end of year grades before being passed over to his aunt.
Still talking he lead Obie through to his room, said his goodbyes and flipped the phone shut.
"Hey." He said running his hand through his mussed hair. "I thought you had abandoned our lunch plans."

Obie held her breath as she heard the door being opened and gave Ra an apologetic smile in response to the look of surprise on his face. She was about to start begging for his forgiveness for her tardiness, when she realized he was on the phone. She relaxed considerably when he gave her a charming smile and waved her in. Closing the door behind her, she tucked her hair behind her ear as she listened to him speak in his native language and followed him to his bedroom. She had never realized how beautiful his language was until she heard it flowing so fluidly from his lips. The thought of his lips caused her to remember the day before, and a light pink colored her cheeks. Glancing around his bedroom, she waited for him to finish. When she heard his phone shut, she looked back up at him and gave him a small smile.
"I am so sorry Ra. I've been stuck at the airport for the past eight hours. My sister didn't tell me until this morning right before she had to leave that she was going home today, and in my hurry I forgot my phone. Please forgive me? Even more so because I've not had time to cook yet?" she asked of him, a slight undertone of pleading coloring her voice.

Ra listened to her and felt the worry fly away.
"No begging for forgiveness." He said with a smirk and gestured for her to sit on the persian rug. "You just wanted to get out of cooking."
He smiled warmly and held her eyes for a moment, she wouldn't know how unbelievably happy he was that she had turned up.
"Are you hungry? I'm sure we have some left overs in the fridge. Can I get you a drink?"

All worries disappeared immediately at his teasing. Breathing an inward sigh of relief, she gave him a warm smile and glanced down at the rug when he gestured to it. She looked back up to him though, and her smile warmed considerably as he offered to play host.
"Um... actually I'm starving. I only had just enough yen to get to the airport and back. So what ever you have will be more than welcome," she smiled up at him.

Ra smiled and dissapeared off to the kitchen. Moments later he returned with a random assortment of cheese, bread, ham salad and cold tea.
"This is all I could find." He said kicking the door shut behind him and placing it in the middle of the rug. Sitting down he grabbed his folder of DVDs and opened it on his lap.
"So, how does it feel to be free?" He asked with a smile as he flipped through the disks.

Obie watched Ra walk out of the room, then sank down to sit cross legged on the persian rug. Running her fingers through her hair, she looked around his room again as she waited for his return. Not having to wait long, she smiled when he returned and looked at the assortment of food he placed down before her.
"This is more than fine," she smiled and grabbed a bottle of tea to take a sip.
"To be free again feels like heaven. I honestly don't know how I was able to stand living with her for so long," she smirked with a small shake of her head. "But it was almost completely worth sitting in an airport doing nothing to be able to see her disappear from my life again. I'm just sorry that it had to happen today when I actually had plans for once," she smiled and watched him flip through the DVDs. "You're really not mad?" she asked, looking up to his eyes.

Ra looked up at her and brushed his hair from his eyes.
"No, there's no point in me being mad at something beyond your control." He smiled warmly and placed some cheese onto the bread.
"I will admit I was a bit upset when you didn't turn up. I thought you had slept on what happened and dedcided to play the avoiding game."
He took a bit of food and chewed in silence for a few moments.
"I'm too happy you turned up to be mad."

Obie reached out and put some ham and cheese on a slice of bread as she listened to him. Folding her mini sandwich in half, she glanced up at him at his admission as she took a bite. Was he serious? She would never waste her time on such silly games. She had always thought girls were so stupid for doing things like that. But all that wasn't relative, so she continued to eat happily in silence since he had forgiven her. At his final words, she looked back up at him and smiled warmly after swallowing.
"I would never dream of standing you up," she grinned and winked at him. "So who were you talking to when you answered the door?" she asked before taking another bite.

He coloured a little as she said she wouldn't stand him up and took another bit of cheese and bread.
"My mother." He said as he finished, shifting to sit cross legged. "My aunt is over from New Zealand, so her too." He took another bite and smiled across at her. "She was nagging me about end of year tests and trying to convince me to go home for the weekend soon."

Obie noted the deepening shade of his tan at her mention of not standing him up and smiled again. She laughed a little as he spoke about his mother.
"Never would have guessed it was such an ordinary conversation," she smiled and pulled a small piece of cheese from her sandwich off to eat. "That's something that has always amused me about foreign languages. They always sound so beautiful, no matter what the person is speaking about. So are you going to go home for a visit?" she asked, glancing up from her sandwich back to him.

"Maybe." He said with a small shrug. "It depends on my mood. They usually drive me crazy after about an hour." He laughed a little and picked up a glass of tea. Luckily his father had gone back to Iran for a couple of weeks so there wouldn't be any arguing.
"Don't suppose you would want to come and hang out in Tokyo for a couple of days?" He asked only half joking, he really would welcome the company if she was up for it.

"Truly? I would love to," she smiled warmly up at him. "I've promised myself to go to Tokyo at least once. Doesn't seem right to not see it while in Japan. And I would love to meet your mother. She sounds like such an amazing person," she smiled rather brightly at the prospect of meeting such a politically inclined woman.

"Really?" He asked with a smirk. he hadn't really thought that she would want to join him at all. "I'll tell her tomorrow, I'm sure she would be excited to have fresh blood around."
Smiling happily to himself he turned his attention back to the DVDs he was looking for something nice and lighthearted. "Is the food enough? Just say if you want more."

Obie smirked at his fresh blood comment and finished eating her food. She glanced over at him and smiled at the look on his face. He truly seemed genuinely happy that she would like to go with him to visit his home. She allowed her eyes to linger on him for a moment, before smirking and looking down into her lap, her long hair spilling down over her shoulder.
"You just want me to go home with you to soften the blow when your parents see your new bits of jewelry," she smirked as she plucked at a stray thread hanging off the hem of her jeans. "And the food is plenty," she said, glancing back up at him.
