I keep doing the same sin over and over again, and I think having people keep me accountable would help a lot. Will someone please help me out? PM me if you have any questions.

*bows slightly* An honor. I promise not to be judgemental, and just ask that you're honest. You can PM me about anything you don't want to talk about in the thread if it will make you more comfortable.
Just keep in mind that we're not perfect, and don't expect you to be-- and, frankly, neither does God. Thank you for wanting to be open about this-- it takes a lot of guts, I know. *smiles* But I'm very sure that we'll all do what we can to help.

all righty, thank you.
I've been doing pretty good so far, I think, since I've posted this I haven't done it since.
Aside from that, I've felt a little hypocritical, because I'm a PK, but I'm not that strong spiritually.

sad I hate to hear that, sweetie. Just remember that God loves you no matter what, and that as long as you repent and ask Him to help you stop doing your sin, everything will be ok. *offers hug of encouragement*

Yeah, whenever you are tempted to do that sin just thing of all of us here. Or here is something even better, talk to Jesus out loud when the temptation comes. Not too loud of course but that always helps me.

When we repent, we're supposed to have full intention of never doing it again. But once we go through, say, all the sins, and repent, and say we're never doing it again...
Isn't that like trying to be perfect? And aren't we not supposed to be perfect?
I'm sorry if I'm confusing people. I'm just wrestling with all this stuff right now.

Well, you see the problem is because we are born into sin it is impossible to completely free of it untill we die. Even though it is inevitable to sin we must still try everything in our power not to. The reason certain actions are sins are not just because God says so, sins are to be avoided because they are the actions that cause pain to ourselves and others. The idea of trying not to sin is to avoid doing things that hurt yourself, others, and God.
That is why Christ stressed the law of love. If you loved someone would you want to hurt them? For this reason we should want to not sin because in the end everyone is better for it. We all know we can't be perfect, God knows and He doesn't expect us to be perfect the way we see perfection. To God perfection is someone who doesn't give up trying to help others and doesn't stop loving Him. Instead of viewing sin as something you can't do, view it as something you don't want to do; because sin is something that will end up hurting you in the end.
This subject is tough for all of us, even the disciples write about how difficult avoiding sin is. Just keep in mind it may take a while to fully understand all this stuff(i'm not even close to geting it all), so don't get discouraged. Try your best and God will love you for it and forgive you when you fall, and as Christians we need to do the same. I hope this helps, if I need to clarify feel free to ask me to explain further.

umm... if you focus on the sin to much you are drawn into it yet again... my advice is to keep yourself busy and avoid the sin so that it won't happen again, but then again things aren't always that easy are they?
