I thought Saw was really good. The ending was amazing! Also, I really liked the situations jigsaw made for the people. I wish they showed more. Saw was a breath of air with horror movies lately.

I remember how every horror website was raving about this film about how it is a perfect blend of Hitchcock and SE7EN. Then, when it finally came out, not only did I realize that this is far from perfect, but everything about it was terrible. Not one remarkable element in the film--even the twist ending (which, by the way, I saw coming from a mile away).
**SPOILERS**
(HIGHLIGHT) Come on, the Carey Elwes character loads a bullet into the "corpse's" EMPTY REVOLVER just as his character makes an awkward transition into a bad actor.
If at any time during a film, people in the audience start yelling out what characters should be doing, that means you are watching a bad movie.

am i the only one who was extremly disappointed with that movie? gonk i went to see it on halloween for my b-day thinking it would be gory and scary and action packed.... it was none of the above. i found it to be too boring. such a brillaint idea for a story, yet it was done in a very predictable way that just made the whole movie just... bad. gonk i so wanted my money back... oh joy... a saw 2 is coming out.. sweatdrop The_Wicked_Man If at any time during a film, people in the audience start yelling out what characters should be doing, that means you are watching a bad movie. i wish... after the movie, and you're getting up from your seats and trying to leave, you know how you sometimes hear chit chat from others because everyone is walking out together... all i heard was "omg! that was SO scary!" or "wow!! i've never been that scared!" surprised

Sweet Amber i wish... after the movie, and you're getting up from your seats and trying to leave, you know how you sometimes hear chit chat from others because everyone is walking out together... all i heard was "omg! that was SO scary!" or "wow!! i've never been that scared!" surprised Really? Almost everyone in the theater was yelling, "Shoot him!" during the scene when the Danny Glover detective character and his partner encountered Jigsaw, and I remember I was demanding that they shut up because, I did not want people around me pointing out flaws. Yes, I wanted to deny that this was a shitty film, but after reading so many great things about this movie, I really wanted this to be something special. Man, I was so disappointed after that movie ended.

I thought it was kind of "ehhh". Some of those torture tricks that guys played was ok, but it's not like they made up the gist of the movie. And yeah, there were scenes that were a little outrageous.

It just makes you learn that you can't fool a serial killer...
But other than that, it sucked. I liked the ending though. Good plot twist. I just thought it was boring. Outrageously low budget though, don't you think? Most of it was shot in that one room...

Ares Outrageously low budget though, don't you think? Most of it was shot in that one room... That was the idea; the filmmakers wanted to follow Hitchcock's theory that absolutely anything could be suspensful or scary, no matter how simple it is. To paraphrase the master, suspense is nothing more than two people at a table talking to each other while, unknown to both men, a timebomb ticks away underneath the men. You see, the audience knows something that the characters do not, thus making the scene suspenseful. However, what the guys working on Saw failed to realize is that the delivery of the concept is just as important as the concept itself. No matter how interesting a story may look on paper, it is not going to be successful if it lacks a good presentation.
