Iden shuffled into the shop with Toby tucked securely under her arm, as always. She hadn't brought any extra companions with her this time, having decided that Ri was usually best not often inflicted on others, given his habit of running his mouth. Shaking her head, she peeked around for a moment before heading for the nearest couch and settling herself on it. Maybe someone would come along, maybe not..

And fancy that, someone did come along. A young woman, early twenties, with blond hair. She pushed open the door and looked around, spotting the figure on the couch quickly. She gave her a smile.
"Hello there. New customer? Waiting for someone? I'm Dee by the way." She says, walking over and offering a hand.
Just as she did so, Sidney decided to peer out from her sleeze, he was wrapped around her wrist and just couldn't resist meeting someone new too. Maybe they were a new velvet owner! Then he could have another friend!
"Oh! Sidney! What are you trying to do? Scare people?" D yelp when the snake appears, coiled around her offered hand. "Sorry there." She tells the girl." I forgot which wrist he was on."

"Oh, hello," she replied, tucking a strand of dark hair behind her ear and smiling shyly as she looked up. Then she presented her doggy plush, stroking his head fondly. "Relatively new, anyway. And no, I'm not waiting for anyone...not for anyone in particular, anyway."
When Sidney showed himself, it startled a chuckle out of her. "No worries. Aah, I'm Iden," she offered with a nod. "It's nice to meet you, D..and Sidney."

D came and sat down on the other side of the couch, smiling and giving a nod. "Hello Iden." D greets her properly now. "Ah, yeah it can be hard to catch the staff, or anyone else. Everyone seems to come in at all times of the day and night here." She chuckled. Spotting the dog plush she looked quite delighted. "Oh he's cute! A velvet huh? You know he'll grow like Sidney? Come alive I mean. It would be quite a shock if you thought he was just an ordinary plush toy."
Sidney slide down and coiled himself into a 'standing' position on the couch between the two ladies. He eyed the dog plush, more interested in the velvet than the owner. "A dog huh? What'ss hiss name?"

"So I've noticed." She grinned, shifting just a bit to better face D, then chuckled. "Ohh lord, that would be a shock!" Iden had had quite enough of things she'd thought 'ordinary' turning out to be something out of the ordinary. "At least it wouldn't be an unpleasant one, though. But yeah, I already knew. It was, ah.." A soft frown touched her face. "Come to think of it, I never got his name..but anyway, it was someone like Sidney, a unicorn, who gave me a key, and explained things a little."
She sat the chocolate-furred plush down in front Sidney, smiling. "His name's Tobler, or Toby for short."

(( Ah, guests are here. Have to go socialise. And I have work during the day tomorrow. I'll try to post soon as I can. sweatdrop But I don't mind it going on for a few days. Most of my rp's do anyway. ))
"No no, not unpleasant. Although, it depends on their personality. But I haven't met any nasty velvets yet. Ah but I got a shock with Sidney. Not that I didn't realise what would happen, but I had him around my neck at the time of his change. Just imagine soft warm material turning to cold scales against your skin. I must have jumped a foot."
"Unicorn? Oh! It's Nati... Naya... Nayati! That's his name. Yes, he's Iris's velvet, or rather, Iris was the one who took him out of the chest. I think, I wasn't actually there. But I've seen them together."
"Tobler?" Sidney slithered over closer, inspecting the inanimate plush. "Hello Tody. I'm Ssid. You might remember me when you grow. We can do all sortss of thingss then." He spoke to it.

"It's hard to imagine something nasty coming from a plush, though I suppose it could happen.." She tapped a finger against her lips, considering. "Oh! Oh, that would be a h- err, a heck of a shock." Right. Try not to swear in front of someone else's kid..snake, velvet, whatever. That might not go over well.
"Oh, so that's his name? Well, I'm glad to know. I think we just sort of..forgot to introduce ourselves." She chuckled.
Toby, as any good stuffed animal, was an excellent, if unresponsive, listener. He continued to sit, silent and unmoving, whilst Sid introduced himself and promised adventures. Maybe he would remember; there was no way of telling.

Well, people can turn out unpleasant so I suppose a velvet could. I think the only one I've ever been worried about is Rycroft. He's a demonic rabbit but according to his owner he's a bit of a mischief-maker and a pyro. But she's a demon so I guess she's quite capable of handling him. At least I hope so. Anyway, Rycroft doesn't seem malicious." D gave a sheepish grin and shugged.
"Oh, but you don't have to worry too much about the 'demons'. There's been a couple in here but they've never caused any trouble, well not much. Nothing to worry too much about. Naraka, he lives here, usually takes makes sure of it and keeps the place safe." D explains, in case this girl hadn't encountered any strange or unnatural beings before. D had met a few in her life but not as many as she had here, and they still shocked her on occassion.
"Speaking of names, Tobler's is quite interesting. Very good, I like it. But I've never heard of it before. A different nationality?" D queried, glancing at the plush and then back at Iden.
Sidney meanwhile, had gone over to D and pulled out a small velvet-sized rucksack. He took it back over to the dog and proceeded to take out a scrap of paper which he had been drawing on and a pencil stub.

"A demonic rabbit, huh? Well, there's something different." She chuckled, thinking on it. A bunny wasn't the first thing one might expect to, err..be demonic. So much for fluffy and cute?
"Oh, I haven't really worried..everyone I've met so far's been very nice." With the exception of Roy, anyway, but she took it he wasn't often around. Besides, he was little more than aggravating. At mention of Nar, she grinned. "I certainly wouldn't want to mess with the place, if it meant getting in trouble with Naraka."
"It's, aah, Swiss. From a brand of chocolate." She grinned sheepishly, ducking her head at the admission. Out of the corner of her eye, she watched Sidney curiously.

"Well that's good to hear. Yeah, everyone's rather friendly here. A mis-matched bunch but I think everyone gets along ok."
D blinks a second as her brain goes over what Iden had said. Everyone was nice so far.... and she sounded like she had met Naraka? Well, D knew Nar was nice but alot of people seemed to have trouble getting along with him. "Oh? So you've met Naraka? Umm... well, he's just protective, that's all. Feels responsible. But he is really kind if you give him a chance. Oh and Swiss chocolate... hang on, you mean toblerone?" That made D chuckle. "Well, it's a great name, and the chocolate is good too. Wonder if your dog will be just as sweet."
Sidney puts pencil to paper and begins filling in lines and things. Looking up occasionally and then making some mark on the page. It's hard to tell what they mean, but they obviously make sense to him and he continues contently. Until that is, he has to crane his head to look around the room. So, pencil and paper in hand, he slithers off the couch and a littl way across the floor.

"I have. He's..really been nothing but kind." Though that was a vast understatement, in Iden's mind. "But I don't think I'd want to see him angry," she added with a grin. "Yeah, Toblerone. I was stuck, and I had some around, so..."
She couldn't help but be terribly curious about what Sidney might be up to, and continued to watch him out of the corner of her eye.

"Well sounds like a good enough reason to me. Tobler... yeah, it does suit him I think. As a name that is. Funny where some inspiration comes from eh?" D nodded. She was silently very pleased to here that this girl thought Nar was so good. He could do with some friends and not more enemies.
D picks up that Iden isn't paying full attention, her eyes drifting over to Sidney every so often. D looked over to her velvet and then back to Iden. "You're not afraid of snakes are you? It's ok, he's not poisonous. He's a carpet python."
Sidney din't seem to notice Iden keeping an eye on him, or if he did he didn't show it. He just kinda wandered around, pausing every now and then to draw a bit onto his paper and then continued. Occassionally his tongue would waggle quickly in and out of his mouth, an animalistic habit he hadn't shaken off yet, or at least while he he was thinking or preoccupied anyway.

"Yeah, it is a bit strange, sometimes." She nodded in agreement, trailing her fingers down the soft fur of Toby's back.
"Oh!" Iden chuckled, blushing. "No, I'm not. He just has me a bit curious, is all."

"Ah, that's good. But curious you say?" D gives a little smile, but completely misses Iden's meaning. "Yeah, it is curious. A snake with arms and that can talk and all that. Took a bit of explaining to my housemate when she moved in. But yeah, Tolber will grow in a similar way too. First just an animal, then with more human characeristics. It's a handy developement though. Definatly an improvement in the communications department."
Sidney, in the strange way that people do, has somehow realised he's being talked about. He slithers back into view, sitting on the floor and looking at the two girls. "What? What are you talking about?" He tilts his head, kinda confused but not all that worried by whatever it is they find so interesting. It probably didn't involve treasure hunting or exploring.

"Not quite the strangest thing I've ever come across," Iden replied with a wry grin, just opting to go along with the meaning D had taken from her previous statement. It was an understandable misunderstanding, anyway. "But still, definitely curious. And very neat."
When Sidney returned to question they're conversation, she considered for a moment. 'Stuff' was always such an annoying answer, but 'you' would hardly do at all. "Growing, and strange things," she answered finally.
