Half Demon
He's still powerful and capable of protecting everybody and fighting his enemies, but he's not trying to eviscerate anybody.

There will always be some demons and some threat. Inuyasha couldn't psychologically survive as a human all the time. Sure, he gets emotional, but he needs his demon side to give him strength, security, and a sense of independence. He needs a gruff and crude external personality to sheild his inner weaknesses, and if he was sensative and considerate and openly emotive all the time then, like Hojo, he would drift into the background. Kagome needs to sense some weakness and major flaw to keep her interested and inspire the gratifying thrill of romantic conquest and success.

Inuyasha is cutest in his half-demon form, but I like him best in his human form, because like you said he shares his feelings, but he kind of scares me in his demon form... sweatdrop
