That's right, Evernham has decided to withdraw Jeremy Mayfield from the entry list at this weekends race at Watkins Glen. Bill Elliott will be driving the #19 instead. According the Jeremy, he learned about it when Nascar.com contacted him about the story. xp

I'm starting to think that Jeremy is kinda full of it.

What I want to know is how does a twice Chase for the Cup contender all of a sudden not make the top 35 in points? neutral

I understand it is better for EMS and his team, they'd be in the race this weekend for sure, but I think theey should have told him in person.
My mom was really mad, she is a Jeremy Mayfield fan. (Funny Story Maybe) I was talking to her about getting a KKR hat, she yelled "No, she's not supporting Ray Evernham." Lol it was Kasey's racing team he owns not EMS.

systematic_chaos What I want to know is how does a twice Chase for the Cup contender all of a sudden not make the top 35 in points? neutral A majority of his crew, including Kenny Francis was switched to Kasey's before the start of the season. That might be a big reason why.

I see, I didn't realize that.
That would explain Kahne running near the front all of a sudden and Mayfield dropping like a rock.

It was a very similiar situation to his departure at Penske. He wasn't running well, and Jeremy became openly critical of the team. He got pulled from the car, and Mike Wallace did quite well in it afterwards.

the situation is sad, Mayfield will find a better ride. mrgreen ....but he openly said that evernham has nothing with the team...so he got on ray's bad side there. Like i said before he'll find a better ride.
