Wicker Man
You will need: twigs and sticks of varying sizes, greenery, pine cones, strong twine, leaves, moss, etc. Arrange the twigs and sticks in the form of a man. Tie these together with the twine and secure. Then attach leaves, pine cones, moss, and any other greenery you'd like to decorate the man with. Once you're finished constructing him, place pieces of paper with wishes written on them onto the wicker man and burn in the Midsummer bonfire.

That sounds like a great idea! It also sounds kid-friendly, too! Children love crafting things, and if raised in a pagan household, they'll enjoy festivities as much as children from orthodox religions do; in fact, they may feel more involved.
It sounds like a very simplistic, but nice thing to do.
