LAst night I was reading a chapter in The LAst Apprentice, Revenge of the Witch and it was a little intence. When I finished it I noticed that my heart was beatting faster when I read it. It was awsome. cool
Do any of you guys get a feeling when you read something good? You sweat, heart beats faster, your hands shake, get goosebumps on your arms, etc.
Also, if something tragic or sad happens say a character dies, do you cry?
There has been talk of Harry Potter dieing and if that did happen, I think I would be as sad if an acual friend had died.

I've realized, after I put a book down to go do something, that I've been breathing a bit faster than usual. If it's an exciting book, of course. I'll get physically tense if something scary's going on too.

I've noticed thing like that happening to me before... I love it when it does...it's so funny when it happens and somebody else is around and I gasp, or start crying...
...one of the biggest ones was when I was reading an Ann Rinaldi book...The Staircase (God, I love her historical fiction books, absolutely amazing...)
...Anyways...these two girls in the book were getting into an argument and the more mean one takes the main character's new kitten and pokes it eyes with her knitting needle then throws it out the window (in took place in the 1800's so they were knitting in their free time).
I remember gasping and wanting to yell at the girl in the book who did that...it pissed me off so much...

I react while reading books too. Usually it's during funny parts that I giggle or laugh out loud. Relatives are usually around during those times and I get weird looks. It's not like I could tell them what was so funny in "Making Out in Japanese" when it was the sex-related phrases that had me laughing.
Fast heartbeat. Goosebumps. It's all familiar.

I got that same reaction when I read Anne Kelleher's Silver's Bane. My heart was pumping, and it was intense.

Definetly. I get so absorbed...it's like the whole world disappears and I'm watching the book from a third person perspective...
I also don't answer when people call my name. xp
Omg, if a character I LOVED died, I would cry like a baby. I spend three quaters of "Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood" in tears and no one even got hurt. Well, except once. I cry realllly easily.

All good books tend to affect my emotions a lot. I often get wound up about certain events, or angry, or sad. It's worse in novels when one of the characters realises they've made a terrible mistake; if it's portrayed well I can feel the sheer horror of it, and I end up, well, looking like the gonk emoticon.
And with the thing about characters dying - most deaths make me cry, unless they're deaths of villains or people I didn't get very attached to. The other character's reactions to it can make me feel weepy, as well.

Haha, people have carried on entire conversations with me while I'm reading, like, under the table. they usually end with, "Are you mad at me? *poke poke*"

I'll only cry if it's a good character and the book is really intense when the character dies. I gasp and yell at it too in my head once in a while. xd
