*With a soft yawn the brown and cream coated lioness moved herself up, wide bleu eyes gazed up into the skies as she relaxed herself against her sleeping mate. Morning showed through the den that they now shared- such lovely colors painted the skies above... hues of pinks and orange reflected off her orbs as a soft purr passed her chest. Being here with Tumai made her feel so alive, safe and complete.

Yet something inside of Aleu was missing... something within herself felt out of place. She had everything she wanted right beside her but... the thoughts of Kirjava passed her mind. Kirjava had Ravi, a son... someone to look after and love, teach and protect. Though Aleu knew she couldn't birth until better conditions hit the lands, but she felt herself longing for the title of mother.

Someday she hoped to give cubs to her mate- so that they could have a family and in a way that would be what really completed Aleu. Cubs with Tumai... made with the love they sharded.*

Tumai stirred as he felt Aleu shift underneath the paw that was rested over her. Jade-coloured orbs blinked open as he let out a breif yawn, before smiling and leaning into Aleu to nuzzle against her neck. "Good morning." He purred, still nuzzling gently into her. She was such a beautiful sight to behold, bathed in the golden pink hues of sunrise. "I love you." He whispered, raising his head further to lick her cheek. At that moment, he was unaware of what was troubling his mate.

*With a soft purr the lioness smiled deeply at her mate. Something about him made her feel good all over, from head to paws! She yawned a bit and nuzzled herself back against his mane- as if to gain body heat from him. With narrowing blue eyes Aleu smiled to herself and rested her head against him once more.*

"Tumai- what does your mother look like?"

*She questioned softly, her tail tucking round her nestled form.*

Tumai lowered his head and rested it back on the ground, so that he could cuddle Aleu some more. It wasn't that he was a lazy lion, he was just so comfortable where he was lay, his body pressed against Aleu's as she nuzzled back into him.

When she questioned him about his mother, he leaned back up once more, getting himself into a half-lying half-upright position, much like a sphynx. "My mother is very beautiful." He said with a nod and a fond smile. "Her fur is a lovely shade of silvery grey, and her eyes are an earthy shade of green." He chuckled. "My sister Ithi looks just like her, but Hisani, my other sister, and myself take after our father apparently."

At the mention of his father, Tumai bit the bottom of his mouth to avoid going any further. He had never knew his father, all he knew was that they shared more than just a physical resemblence, according to his mother. And of course he also knew that his father was dead. "My father..." He trailed off, thinking the best way to go on. "My father was a good lion. My mother loved him very much, but fate 'separated' them before I was born, so I never got to know him." He half smiled towards Aleu, not wanting to depress her at all.

"She sounds very lovely."

*Aleu’s soft voice spoke out as she nestled herself against her mate’s side, sitting beside him. Her cream toned paws pushed out and she softly batted at his paws, purring. Her claws contracted in and out as she clawed at him playfully. The lioness smiled at him as he spoke- she loved hearing about his family.

But when he spoke of his father she could tell he was uneasy about the subject. She wouldn’t bother asking about it, she knew some things were better left unsaid. Moving her gaze up to his eyes she smiled and spoke.*

"I didn’t really know my mother- of father... but I can recall what they looked like. My father looked like the darker version of me; his coat was a lovely wood-brown... And my mother- she had a red pelt."

*Personally this didn’t bother her… but she knew that the Mist lions did not like the red pelts. Would Aleu birth one and upset the pride? This lioness always seemed to think ahead and when she did she would work herself up over nothing at all... Taking in a deep sigh she cooled herself down and did her best not to think of such things. She wouldn’t be a mother for a long time, or so it seemed.*

"Mmm... do your sisters live within this pride too?"

"She is." He nodded. "She wanted me to have a better life than what she had had, which is why she encouraged me to seek out the Mistweavers." Tumai purred as Aleu played with his paws, and countered by putting both his paws on top of hers, chuckling as he did so.

As Aleu spoke about her parents, he watched her carefully, a thoughtful expression on his face. It didn't bother him in the slightest that her mother had a red coat. He wasn't one to group lions together for any reason, for where he was concerned, it was the individual that mattered. Of course, this only applied to the majority of cases, as where the Firekin were concerned, Tumai despised every last one of them for what they had done to Aleu. Saying that though, if he ever came across one, he wouldn't be as quick to judge as most other Mistweavers.

Seeing that this was an uncomfortable subject for Aleu, like Tumai's father had been to him, he decided not to go any deeper into it. "Ithibati does. She joined the Mistweavers just before I did. Mother and Hisani no doubt still live in the place where I was born."

*With a soft smile Aleu rested her head along his side, purring at his words. She wanted to know more about him so she was using this time to talk to him about everything she could. With a soft mew Aleu’s eyed moved to gazed upon his soft feathers, before she spoke.*

"Where were you born?"

*She asked with a smile, her tail lacing along his. So much about him she didn’t know- but Aleu had the rest of her life to figure him out. Just that thought made her feel giddy inside. He was going to be with her for the rest of her days-- Aleu loved it, she loved him.*

"I was born in the Ngorongoro Crater. Remember, the day we met, I was on my way to visit my mother and Hisani in the Crater. They weren't there." He nodded lightly. "I'm sure that they still live there though, as they wouldn't move without somehow getting a message to myself or Ithi."

Tumai liked that Aleu was asking questions. It showed that she definatly wanted to get to know him better. He wanted them to be one of these couples that knew each other inside and out. "Where were you born Aleu?"

"Oh Tumai... I don’t really know."

*Aleu didn’t sound upset by this- she was old enough now to understand that life was not always kind. A soft smile passed her as she nuzzled her forehead along his mane.*

"My mother and father left me when I was very young. So I can not recall much about them or where I was born- but I know for sure my mother loved me. She kept me in a safe place... before leaving."

*Nodding slowly as she held herself against his mane the lioness sighed and slowly moved herself off of him. She lay still for a moment, before speaking.*

"I grew up alone, with no family. Life has never been kind to me, up until now- that is."

*The female smiled brightly at her mate before slowly moving over to lick at his cheek.*

"She was lovely..."

Tumai remained close to Aleu as she spoke, shifting his body to rest his head lightly on top of hers, just incase she needed comforting. He felt so sad for her, and hated the idea of her being all alone. She remained strong though, smiling brightly when she was finished.

Tumai smiled back, returning the lick she had given to him with a lick of his own. "You'll never be alone as long as I live, I promise."

"Thank you."

*With a smile she nodded and rested her head against her mate once more. It was times like this that she would always remember- these embers of love she could never forget. With a soft purr the lioness closed her eyes and relaxed- she would never feel lonely again, not with Tumai beside her.*

"Mmmm... I need to get out more- maybe I can talk a walk tomorrow to see if I can find any other lionesses to speak with, you know? Maybe make a friend or two."

Tumai nodded, brushing his mane against Aleu's face as he did so. "Even I haven't met everyone that lives here. Maybe I'll take a walk too. I could go with you if you like, just to make sure you don't get lost."

He purred deeply and nuzzled her, before shifting on to his stomach and getting to his feet. A breif yawn followed as he stretched out his legs and his back. Smiling slightly, he moved towards the cave's edge to gaze out beyond the waterfall towards the sun, which had just about finished making its way over the horizon. "It's going to be another beautiful day." He said in an airy tone of voice.

“Mmm, everyday here with you is beautiful.”

*The lioness stated with a soft smile, before moving herself up from his side. Her dark eyes narrowed softly upon him as she smirked and yawned. Pulling her gaze from him and to the skies Aleu spoke to herself faintly.*

“I will never forget these embers of love...”

*Slowly she moved herself around him, padding in a circle as she did this; her head was held high and with a swift pounce she jumped on top of Tumai and nibbled at his ears playfully, her paws wraped around him the best she could. Purring deeply to him her nose nuzzled along his and with a faint tone she repeated.*

“I will never forget..”

Tumai was taken by suprise by Aleu's sudden 'attack'. Laughing, he brought up his front paws and wrapped them around Aleu, pulling her down with him so that she landed on top of him. Smiling as he lay on his back, he gazed into her eyes. "We're going to be together for the rest of our lives, I just know it."

He leaned his head back to again look out over the Valley, although it appeared upside down in his current position. "And with any luck, the rains will come soon."

*Nuzzling her forehead along his Aleu nodded and smiled deeply. She wouldn’t leave him- not now and not ever. Pulling herself from his grasp she sat beside him and gazed out and into the valley. Things seemed to move in slow motion for her right now- it was a dull day but with Tumai by her self she felt as if that didn’t really matter. She needed only his kind and loving words to make her feel alive. With a soft tone she purred and spoke.*

"I am going to go for a walk now. I will be back soon, alright?"

*Licking him along the cheek she smiled brightly before slowly moved away from him. She would head down the long hill now- she needed to explore the lands after all- this was her new home. Aleu didn't say anything to his comment about cubs- she didn't really know how to come about feeling in the subject- until the rains did come she would keep that in the back of her mind.*
