Rp Thus Far Yohji yawned from where he was sitting. He felt content watching the shadows flicker across the room even if the place was rather empty. He was relaxed with the quiet.
Shanay looked up and across the room at a rather... scary looking coon. Curling up slightly his moccassin clad feet rested on the couch he was now sitting on. "I can do this... I am supposed to meet people... I can do this..."
Yohji looked over seeing someone looking at him "yes" he asked, his voice was a lot kinder then anyone expected after seeing him.
Shanay gasped slightly, he'd been seen? That coon was very perceptive... "um...". Standing the indian rat walked over to Yohji, not quite sure if he could speak confidently enough to be heard across the anthros in the room. "My name is... Shanay" he said, trying to smile softly though held a nervous look in his soft brown eyes.
Yohji offered the rat the seat next to him "my name is Yohji (sounds like yo-zee)" he said keeping his arms draped over the back of the couch like they were before
"Oh, um, thank you" he'd lucked out, he'd found a kind person. Sitting down Shanay played with one of the feathers in his hair, still a tad nervous, he rarely did this outside of his tribe. "My name is Shanay (prou. Shah-nay). It's nice to meet you" the young rat managed to smile softly.
Yohji watched the nervous rat "you can calm down, its okay" he said with a smile. His icy blue eyes watching that rat. Yohji pushed some stray silver hairs from his face
"Oh? Heh, is it really that apparent?" he sighed softly, "sorry, I don't do this often" the rat looked down in his lap. Okay, what had Aleshanee said to do next? Conversation? "Um... do you come here often, Yohji?" he asked, looking back up at the coon.
Yohji smiled "yeah, I guess it is" he said still watching him "I don't have to come here a lot, I stay here, basicly i live here" he said shrugging.
Shanay shifted softly under the gaze, bringing his feet up he tucked them slightly under him on the couch. "You live here?" well that was news, he'd never heard of anyone living in a shop. At least that's what his cousin, Aleshanee, had called it. But there were so many people talking and nothing for sale, how could this be a shop? "You must like this place alot then...?" he said softly, fingers still running over the feather in his hair.
Yohji shrugged "its okay here" he said looking around "i would rather live here then with the others in the place i was going to live, its to crowded" he said still watching him
"Ah, yes, I don't like living in crowd's either, prefer the outdoors really" he said, eyes falling onto the unsual marking on Yohji's chest. "What does it mean?" he asked quietly, "the um, marking?" Shanay clarified, looking back up at Yohji.
Yohji looked down at the marking on his chest "its a marking, of someone very special to me, it ment a lot to them" he said with a smile. His smile was true, he had no sad memories with the one he was talking about, he had just visited them. They were good friends.
"Oh..." Shanay looked at the marking once more, "that's kind of you, to mark yourself for someone you care for, I'd be too scared honestly. The only reason I have this..." he said, motioning to the small pink twin markings on his right cheek, "is because it was from my kaleejeeno. It's a hunt, to prove I'm a man in my tribe, the more bold the mark, the more of a man you have become. Heh..." Shanay sighed softly, shame on his face. "I am obviously not a man, I couldn't even hunt a rabbit, I didn't want to kill it" he said. "So I was given this, they took pity on me and didn't shun me from the tribe" he said softly. He hoped to become a man someday, it just seemed so impossible at the moment. It was partly why he was here, so far away from home.
Yohji reached over and touched the marking "your a man just as you are, maybe not to their standards, but you are" he said firmly but kindly
"A-Ah" Shanay's eyes widened slightly, he didn't know what he was more shocked about. That the coon was touching those shameful markings, or that he was saying he was a man. Bowing his head Shanay could feel his cheeks heat, a soft pink upon his skin blending with the marks. "You are too kind, but the tribe is where I shall return, where I shall stay, and where I will be brought to rest with the spirits of the land and sky. If I am not a man there, then it does not matter if I am a man in the outside" he said quietly. Looking back up however, Shanay smiled, "thank you though, honestly".
Yohji nodded understandingly "just so you know, you will always be a man to me" he said gently
Yohji was so kind, how could he say such things? They had only met, he hadn't seen him do more than stand up, walk over here, and make a quiet, stuttering fool of himself. But it was nice... to be considered more than the weak one of the tribe. "So... you always are here?" Shanay asked suddenly. "I do not know how long my stay here will be, but I hope I may come back and speak with you again?" he said softly. Little did he know he would be staying here muuuuuch longer.
Yohji nodded "this is where I sleep at night and spend most of my days, so I will be here for you to talk to" he said smiling gently.
(what do you mean by muuuuch longer eh Mei)
Wow, he never thought he'd meet someone like Yohji, not even the people of the tribe were this nice to him. Well, at least not after his kaleejeeno.
(He thinks he is only here to learn how to be a man, but really there are other plans for him, he is staying with his cousin who was mentioned earlier and in fact will not be going back to the tribe for a long time. But he does not know this.)
(what are the other plans for him)
Yohji gave the rat another smile. You can stay the night hee if you want as well, this place is here for us afterall" he said giving a content sigh. since he stayed here, he was here when they brought food and drink in and cleaned the tanks for the mers and so on
(I'm not sure, it'll probably either be a gentle banishment or something else, I can't decide. XD;; )
"Hmmmm... that sounds nice, I'm sure my cousin would not mind either, as it was her idea I came here" he said, looking across the room briefly. This had turned out better than he ever could have hoped. "Though this place is here for us?" he asked softly, confused. He came from a far away, where there wasn't an overabundance of anthros, but just enough for him to know he wasn't alone.
Yohji nodded "this is basicly the safe-haven for anthros in the city. There is a lot of hate agenced some of us. Plus, we tend to come here to meet other anthros." he said smiling "there are blankets if you want one" he said ready to get up and get him one "i know where they are" he said grinning, he had his favorite blanket, there were many more though. "and pillows" he added. "the couches and chairs are all very soft, and very big" he said laughing, the couches were big enough for two people to lay on them without falling off
"Ooooh" Shanay nodded softly in understanding, "back home we're viewed as merely those with perhaps guardian spirits of animals. Makes it easier for some to believe than thinking someone really has rabbit ears" he chuckled softly. "Though I am often called a small, quiet mouse, but I suppose it is accurate, considering..." he said, his ears twitching slightly. "Oh, a blanket would be nice" he said, standing to follow the coon.
Yohji got up and walked down a hallway to a closet. Opening it he pulled how a black blanket with a white tiger on it. "go ahead and pick" he said leaving the stack of pillows and pillow cases untouched
Reaching in Shanay pulled out a simple, light brown blanket, and smiled softly. It had a black bear on it, "hehe it reminds me of Pallaton" the mouse said. "He's another anthro in my tribe, a biiiiiig black bear" he said, holding the blanket close, it was nice and warm.
Yohji smiled and started walking back to the main room. He laid the blanket down on the arm of the couch, he wasnt going to use it yet. plus, he wanted the boy to pick where he was to sleep first.
Looking around Shanay tried to decide where to sleep, perhaps on the floor? Nodding to himself Shanay layed the blanket down on the floor, a bit harder than what he was used to, but it'd do. "So when do you normally sleep?" he asked, not wanting to keep the coon up or anything.
Yohji watched him "are you sure you dont want to sleep on the couch, there are pleanty in here" he said gesturing to the multiple couches littering the room "theres room on this one with me as well" he said, his question was completly innocent, he wasnt thinking dirty thoughts at all. "i sleep whenever i get tired" he added not wanting to be rude
"Um... well..." looking around Shanay was starting to rethink his decision to sleep on the floor... or over here. Palloton wasn't near to protect him, as Shanay himself wasn't much of a fighter. But... Yohji wouldn't let anything happen to him, right? "Um... can I stay with you, on your couch?" he asked, not wanting to be alone on his first night here.
Yohji kept the smile "thats fine" he said kindly "are you tired" he asked, he didnt want to keep Shanay up if he was tired "oh, fair warning, i tend to cuddle" he said guiltily
Shanay blushed faintly, Yohji was so kind, helping him like this. "I'm not extremely tired" he said softly. Upon hearing Yohji's guilty little confession Shanay couldn't hold in a small laugh. "Oh no, that's quite alright" he had never been cuddled so it'd be interesting if it did happen.
Yohji smiled in relife "do you want to go to sleep" he asked "we could just lay down and talk till we fall asleep, or we could stay up" he said giving the boy three options "or something else" he sid not wanting to limit him.
"Um..." leaning down Shanay picked up his blanket, "laying down sounds nice, espicially after how you've said these couches are so soft" Shanay giggled softly. Walking over to the couch Shanay looked at Yohji, a soft smile on his face, his first day and he'd found a kind friend.
Yohji nodded and put his blanket on the back of the couch, out of the way before laying down on his side so Shanay could lay down
Shanay still held onto the blanket as he sat softly down onto the couch, and shifted onto his side, his movements barely noticable like the mouse he was called back home... though for different reasons. "Thank you..." he said quietly. "It's kind of you to share your couch with me, you didn't have to, and you did. I've never met anyone like you"
Yohji smiled gently and pulled the black blanket over the both of them "I didnt have to, but i wanted to" he said gently. Yohji put his arm around Shanay gently at first to see if he way okay with it.
Shanay couldn't help a soft blush as Yohji's arm encircled him, though he didn't object. It felt, this way, that no one could get near him since he was with Yohji. "You wanted to? Do you protect many, Yohji?" Shanay asked softly.
Yohji smiled and nuzzled close to Shanay "the only one I've ever protected is the person i got this tattoo with" he said smiling
"Oh..." he wondered if Yohji was protecting him then? Surely he couldn't measure up to someone the coon had cared for so much. "How long have you known them?" Shanay asked, curious of this person who his new friend cared for. They sounded nice, had to be to earn such care from Yohji.
Yohji nodded "she is nice, hard to deal with sometimes but we always get over it" he said smiling. The person he was talking about was a human.
"Hehe, well, the harder parts always make the good times all that better" Shanay said wisely. "She live around here? Or farther away?" he asked, before squeeking softly. "I'm sorry, I don't mean to be nosy or anything" he quickly said. Yohji shook his head "you wern being nosey" he said with a small smile. "she lives on the other side of town, i can take a bus to her house" he said smiling
Shanay sighed in relief, "well that's good, that you get to see her" he said softly. "She ever come here?" Shanay asked, since this was pretty much where Yohji lived.

"Oh?" Shanay looked up at Yohji, he hadn't been around town himself. Got to his cousins place after getting lost for a while, then she sent him straight here. "Where do you like to go around town?" he asked softly, curious at what there was to see around here. He'd already discovered things here were alot different then where he came from, but then alot of people just weren't as open minded. He'd already been accused of crossdressing and being a girl several times while making his way here. He just ignored it, the land was on his side after all, not those driving those huge gas guzzlers. >>

"Are the parks nice?" Shanay asked quietly, smiling slightly as he was snuggled. He missed the wilderness, land not covered by concrete, so if he could find someplace with green and trees, that'd be great to him.

Shanay smiled softly, he missed his home already. He wanted to go to these parks sometime, perhaps they'd ease his home sickness for the forest and streams. They were so pretty, he could just lay under a tree for hours listening to the forest speak. Shanay's eyes had closed in his tranquil thoughts, the other almost looked asleep.

Shanay was silent for a few more moments, until he spoke quietly, "beyeihi...(*)" Shanay was feeling homesick. Though it was important he come here he was starting to regret it. He was so far from home... he had never been this far... and he hadn't exactly recieved a warm welcome. Barely had time to put his few things at the door of his cousin's house before she pointed him this way. No doubt he had gotten lost terribly... at least back home he never got lost. Back home he wasn't scared to be outside, or inside, in fact this had been the first time he felt remotely safe. But he still missed home.

Thinking back to the parks Shanay decided to ask, "do you think you could show me a park? Perhaps if I go there, it will ease my homesickness?" he asked, though he had already done so much for him...
