For this class, Peri had written 'tail lash', 'constriction', and 'hypersensitive eyesight'. The man was ready for the feathered version of dragon that was to be attending this class. Still didn't seem right for a dragon to have feathers...

((Is it ok to post here?))
Vivina trudged along the hallway, close to the wall. So she was to attend a class to learn more about her dragon? What more was there to learn about an oversized snake/bird dragon who was too lazy to do anything but eat, sleep, and fly for fun? Her mom had explained a few things about dragon fighting skills, but Vivina remained skeptic that Seph would even be interested in learning.
Sephayr grunted and slithered down the middle of the hallway. Almost as if he were reading Vivina's mind, he nipped her shoulder gently to tell her he wasn't going to be lazy - unless there was critical amounts of thinking and activity. He received a roll of eyes and a playful cuff to his nose. Frowning, he ruffled his feathers and followed the girl diligently.
Vivina giggled softly and turned a corner. To the right was the classroom she was told about. Entering the door slowly, she saw someone by the large chalkboard. That must be the teacher. Smiling, she jumped in and walked quickly up to the front. " 'Lo there! Is this the class to learn about Amphitere dragons?" She acknowledged her dragon, who courteously bowed as best he could without his wings dragging him to the floor. His bones were mostly hollow, but those wings were still heavy enough to weigh him down at times.

((Yup!! ^.^))
Perilas eyed the girl and dragon as they walked in. The girl seemed rather... energetic. "Yes, this would be the right classroom." He smiled at the dragon's polite greeting. Well, at least this dragon wouldn't be running all over the classroom.
"Well, to start off, do you have any questions about your dragon?"

((Okies^^ Just making sure))
Vivina smiled and clapped her hands. "Oh good. I've never been down here before and didn't want to get lost or anything." Noticing that no one else was here, she supposed that she had the only hatched amphitere dragon. She felt slightly special in that sense and rocked back and forth on her feet.
Sephayr nodded in agreement with Vivina's statement and ruffled his feathers again. He then eyed the chalkboard, not being able to understand much of what was on there. His gaze fell back to Perilas and observed him. He seemed like a nice enough teacher, no one to be afraid of. But he didn't completely trust him. He couldn't be too careful.
Vivina held her chin in her hand, thinking of anything to ask. Then she thought of something from a previous experience. "Seph once squeezed me while trying to hug me and it was very tight, a little too tight. If he squeezed too much, would it be enough to break bones? I though mine were going to break. Seph doesn't do it as hard when he's hugging now, but I'm still curious." A decent question to ask, seeing as she read "constriction" and thought of Seph's first 'hug'.

Peri chuckled softly at the girl's story of the amphitere's 'hug'. "Yes, he would be able to crush bones that way. It's one of the more common ways that this type of dragon hunts. They catch their prey and squeeze it until it crushes and dies. It's called constriction."
He gestured towards the board. "They also use their tail to knock their prey down. Usually so they can grab them to squeeze them."

Vivina's eyes widened at the killing part. She knew that Seph had the potential to kill, but she didn't really think about it much. After all, Seph has been fed all this time rather than him hunting himself. "Constriction? I'll try and remember that. Hehe...Seph better not constrict me too tightly next time." She looked at her dragon and saw him grinning hesitantly. If only one of those cartoony sweat drops were visible next to his head.
Sephayr understood most of what Perilas said, although it may have been chunky. Maybe like 'crush bones...way dragon hunts...catch prey...squeeze...crush...dies...constriction' Even so, the dragon nodded and looked over at the chalkboard again. He already knew that he can knock things down with his tail. What better way than to get his target ready to tickle?
Vivina looked at the board as well and laughed softly. "Seph does that to tickle me and anyone else he wants to. Those feathers are super ticklish! Is there any particular reason as to why that is so?" Vivina also read the last thing written on the board, but decided to wait until her current question was answered first. She didn't want to bog down the teacher with a massive flood of questions.

Peri grinned at the interaction of the pair. This was exactly why D-corp was engineering these children and dragons. So that they would bond like this. Though why the corporation would want bonded dragons and children, Perilas wasn't exactly sure.
"You know, I'm not actually sure. Though I had read that somewhere..." His voice trailed off for a moment as he thought, apparently trying to recall where he'd read that. Then he shrugged. "Perhaps it's the way the feathers are structured."

Vivina frowned slightly. Not actually sure...that's the same answer she's been getting from her mom, the books, and the internet. They must really not have all the information out there. Maybe at D-Corp they had all the answers, but she'd have to wait to go searching for all the books on Amphiteres.
"Structured? You mean they might be different from regualr feathers?" Curious, she ran over behind Seph and grabbed his tail. She looked closely at the broad, leaf-like feathers, placing them right up against her nose. However, the slight touch of the feathers on her nose caused her to sneeze and she let go of the tail. "I dunno...I don't see a difference..." Then again, she wasn't an expert.
Seph jumped as his tail was grabbed, but calmed down seeing at it only was Vivina. He had trailed off into his own thoughts and didn't realize Vivina had run off behind him. He pulled his tail back and around to his front as soon as Vivina had let go. He checked each feather to see if they were damaged. Apparantly, vanity has him in its grip.

Peri shrugged and grinned. "Perhaps. I don't think anyone's really tried studying an amphitere's feathers before. Then again, they probably didn't want to try and obtain one..."

Vivina frowned again, then grinned as well. "Maybe I'll study the tail feathers...once I know more that is. I'm sure Seph won't mind...I hope." Giggling, she looked at the board once more. One more question. "What's hypersensitive eyesight? I've never heard of it before."
Sephayr looked up from feather checking and growled. Unless he gets a really good reason, he probably won't give up a feather. He liked the fan-shaped plumage and one feather gone would ruin it.

Peri glanced up at the board as Vivina did. "Ah, it means that they have really good vision. Kind of how you can see in the dark. Your dragon can see things from really far away. He can see a little bug from several hundred feet away."

Vivina shot a look at Seph and laughed. "So that's how he found me while playing hide and seek...Seph's very helpful when it comes to looking for things then." Vivina looked up at Seph again and prodded him playfully.
Seph turned away and seemed to be blushing. Could dragons even blush? Seph looked back at Vivina and nipped her ear gently as a response to her prodding. The prodding felt odd, but he remained calm.
Vivina giggled at the nipping and turned back to the chalkboard. Nothing else? Well, just in case... "Okies then...so Seph can hit things with his tail, use his body to squeeze prey in order to kill them, and see things really well. Is there anything else to know about?" Vivina smiled and stroked Seph, who hummed contently.

Peri chuckled. "Aye, I would suppose he would be..." The man nodded as the girl listed off the things. "He could get mites easily due to all of his feathers, so you'll want to keep an eye out for those little bugs." He warned. Wild birds were bad enough about getting mites, so take one and enlarge it to the size of a house and see how the little insects were attracted.

Vivina's eyes widened at the mention of mites. "Mites? Are they like fleas on dogs?" Vivina looked over at Seph again and wondered how he'd be able to scratch himself without any clawed limbs to help him. Guess she'd better look out for mites then lest she want to see Seph suffer from itch attacks and bites.
Seph blinked at the mention of mites and shuddered. He's seen them in some books while looking through the former library that is now his room, and the way the pictures portrayed them made him seem so vunerable. Indeed he should watch out for them as well.

"Actually ticks are a sort of mite, but there are some types that love feathered creatures such as birds or," here Peri gestured towards Seph, "amphiteres." The man added, "I'm sure that D-corp could come up with something if he does contract mites. Just be sure to keep an eye out for them to catch it early."
