i'm alive even though i'm not here?
this is what i spend all of my time on:
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.
it is a mostly nonlinear sort of autobiographical comic which updates every five days, with surprises in between.
so uh
keep an eye on it
if only as a favour
it's a lot of fun to make.

is basically the only thing i have done in a while that isn't comics? the full version is basically enormous.
i realised this afternoon that her right hand is out of proportion (her wrists look enormous, maybe). also there may be some glaring proportion problems i'm missing with her arms and legs and her ribcage is kind of nonexistant. but the lineart is basically nicer than mostly everything else i do, and i actually drew toes.

wowow

I wish I could like make something clean like that.

it looks so effortless (letters to a wild boar) and so good like, you didn't have to try, and you dont have to be all like, "er, wassat supposed to be"

it's awesome.

PS good job on tha toes

i notices how great the toes looks, but they appear really odd stuck on a foot that's a bit wonky.

the line on the carpet side of the foots looks a bit thin, with that much weight on her legs, i almost think a straight line from knee to to would have showed it better.

that makes sense. it would also probably help stylistically, maybe.
trying a straight-line version after sleep i think

I think that the proportional difficulties you are seeing there are really not that important overall.

The picture has pleasant character and I like the way the colors interact.

I mean yes, her form is improbable, but it's not bad in a distracting way.

i think that's a really important observation. i feel that way often about pictures, especially when people go nuts picking at the technical flaws.

Yeah. I think that the mood, texture and character of a piece are very important. I'm a huge fan of H.R Gieger and Picasso.

I like the color choices, very clean and natural looking, but I would have preferred if the table, walls, and floors were inked as well, it would probably have felt more finished that way.

I also really like how you drew her toes. :3

That girl is crazy hot. Crazy hot.

Also, I think her wrists are fine (?).

so my webcomic is still updating
please please keep checking in, bookmark it, link to it, spread it around a little bit. i know i'm still posting drawings, but it looks like the comic is my primary objective these days.

that said, doodly things from the past few weeks, in chronological order:

User Image
pirate girl, done shortly after the one i posted up there. she's kind of amazon-sized which isn't really on purpose.

User Image
the same pirate girl with a different colouring style? there are some sloppy places on this i totally missed, and directly after doing colouring it i freaked out because i'd gotten used to the loose cell shading and the airbrushing bugged the crap out of me. but i think i'm at peace with it now.

User Image
sloppy fanarts for faith erin hicks's webcomic Ice, which is badass. it's her red dreadlocky girl (on the left) and my red dreadlocky girl (on the right).
