 Not as soon as both had reached the jungle, Zimwi had gone out hunting.
There wasn't a lot of thing's to hunt in the jungle, because not a lot of herbivores could manouver easily in all the foliage.
However, he had found a rather juicy warthog piglets and such around the border's.
Not exactly a meal, but enough to fill his friend's stomach.
He'd never been this caring for someone before, he liked it, it made him feel quite happy to have someone to look after and travel with.
And the thought of it being a nice girl like Shairi, made him smile as he dragged his and her meal back to where he'd left her.
As he approached the waterfall and the cave where they'd stop for the night, he dropped the meat for a second to call in to her.
"Shairi! I hope you like warthog!"

 -She'd settled into the makeshift little den at his request, honored and mildly embarrased by his offer to hunt for her, not having had an actual animal since her childhood.
And while he was gone she gone about the den with her little limp, dragging soft leaves towards the center of the den, her soft characteristic hum touching her throat as she worked.
Ears twitching with the sounds of his return she made her way out, a soft smile touching her pink maw as she looked between the large black male and the piglet gifted to her.- "I don't think I've ever tried warthog actually. It's probably wonderful though."
-Stepping forward she nudged it softly, before taking a tender little n**, a soft squeal escaping her suddenly at the sheer flavor behind it. So used to getting the left over bits that noone wanted, this was like heaven. Like heaven upon heaven to her senses and she called out in happy singsong- "It's wonderful! Just wonderful! Would you like some?"

 A little cheetah cub had been lying upon the ground, ears back, eyes half closed and his tail wrapped firmly around one hind leg. To look at his scruffy appearance one might think he was an orphen, but this was not so. Pekee had kindly parents who loved him and three siblings who were not so far away.
And yet this mud splattered, wet little cub lay trembling on the ground as if he had nowhere else to go.
He was a pessimistic little creature and his ways were known to annoy and upset others, yet his heart seemed oddly cold and unable to love.
He shifted slightly at the noise, huffing slightly in annoyance. "Oh great, more of them, I expect they'll be wanting me to move. Might as well go before anyone notices." He got up then and shook his body, turning to gaze around for the best escape route. He wasn't very well hidden despite the fact he was pretty sure no one would see him.

Zimwi'Jicho gave a large smile, tail twitching happily back and forth at the reaction to the tender piglet meat he got from Shairi.
Well, she seemed happy.
Which was good, he just moved in a little more before placing the piglet at her feet before talking.
"That's alright Shairi, I'll catch myself one, so we can each have one." He said, the smile still on his face before he turned and headed out into the foliage.
He was so pleased that his companion was happy, the look on her face and that beautiful sing songy voice made him light up inside.
But he shook himself and thought more on his food as he stalked slowly through the grass, incase something was there.
However, he paused as he heard something, ear's moving forward.
Was that somebody else?
He narrowed his eye's before he moved towards the direction the sound had came from, before he could smell the obvious scent of another cheetah.
It was only till he saw the white furball did he pause and blink.
"Uhhm...hey, kid?"

-A soft purr touched her throat as she settled onto her task, eating slowly despite the grumble of her stomach, savoring the unfamilar flavor.
Her ears lifted as she almost thought she heard something. But it was the jungle after all.. and even if she had.. it wasn't like there was a whole lot she could do about it.
Curling her tail gently about her, she shifted her gaze back and forth between the piglet and the jungle around her as she slowly ate.-

Damn...busted.
The depressed cub turned his head to gaze at the pair with sullen eyes, oh great. Now what?
A pink cheetah and a big...thing.
His lip curled up in distaste and for a moment he was unsure what to do. Stay and chat or run? Hmph...choices in life were so depressing!
"Kid? Excuse me...I am not a kid." He shot an annoyed glare at the fluffy thing before turning to face him fully. "I'd tell you who I was but you wouldn't care. No one does, so if you don't mind..." He moved a few steps forward, obviously intending to leave.

Whoa...okay, being talked at by a rather depressed cub.
Not something he had intended for today, but, alright, whatever, he'd have to wing it with this one.
He cleared his throat slightly.
"Okay, sorry." He said, only to look over the little white cub again.
What was he doing all alone? Didn't he know it could be dangerous here?
Then again, he supposed having a large lion you barely knew standing infront of you would be a good reason to leave.
But he smirked and then looked him over.
"Don't say that, I'm sure some people care, right? Why don't you come back to the cave and I'll catch you some pig, hmm?"

-Though the two were a bit to far, and obstructed by the grass for her to see her ears did pick up on Zimwi voice, and they flicked forward trying to make out the words. He was talking to someone it seemed? Not just idle chatter, or singing as she often did.
Lifting herself gently from the ground, she took a few limping steps forward, until the two came into her line of sight as well, and she offered a warm smile, calling out softly over the distance.- "Why hello little one."

Ah no, that wasn't meant to happen, they were supposed to just watch him leave and continue on with whatever they were doing.
"They just pretend to like me." He replied sourly, thinking back to the golden cub who he'd had trouble losing. "But I don't mind because I don't like me either."
He clamped his jaw shut at the approaching cheetah, his eyes tracing the line of her beautiful fur. He was jealous of others - especially those with beautiful pelts - for he thought himself dull and plain. He was nothing special, nothing unique.
His mother was white, his father was white, his brother was white and his two sisters were white...just like him. He had half a mind to roll in mud just so that he stood out but then decided he'd rather turn green so that he could move unseen in this tropical place.
"Little?" He gave a tremendous sigh. "Yes. Insignifcant too, so I'll just be on my way."

Zimwi' was starting to lose patience with the little blighter, one brow lowering and one raising as he watched the cub.
"Not everyone pretends, maybe if you try being a little more optimisitc-"
As his temper was on the verge of getting lost however, the sweet voice of Shairi quickly soothed him, turning to look at her before he smiled.
However he was also concerned as he looked over her hind leg, didn't it hurt for her?
By the Gods, he was becoming so over protective and paranoid of her.

-A soft and apologetic laugh escaped the naive female, and instead of letting him go, as he so obviously seemed intent on, she hobbled forward a few more steps, smile growing brightly.- "Oh, that's not what I meant. I just didn't know your name is all."
-Padding until she was close enough to rest her shoulder against Zimwi's she giggled a little more, teasing him softly before she turned back to the cub.- "He isn't scaring you away is he? I assure, he's far bigger and scarier then her really is."
-Purr settling in her throat, she wrapped her tail gently around her, thwarting the poor young one's attempts to run off unscatched. Oh no. She'd talk his ear off first if it was up to her.- "My name is Shairi, what's yours?" -She bit back the familar term as it once agan almost slipped out of her mouth. She'd forgotten how much it seemed to upset some children to be called children.-

His tail dropped so that it rested limp against the ground and his head lowered too so that his shoulder blades jutted up beneath his pelt. He was a scrawny creature with a slim body and extremely long, gangly legs. In fact with his fur matted and stained he did actually look quite scruffy and dare I say it, ugly.
Though one only had to look beneath the surface to see the grief that lay beneath.
"If you must know." He stated grudgingly, "my name is Pekee'dunia. I don't expect you'll remember it."
"And--I'm not scared you know, I'd just prefer to be on my own, that way no one has to deal with me." He let his green eyes - those orbs inherited from his father - travel up to the pink cheetah's face and for a moment he seemed lost.

Zimwi'Jicho was getting a little more and more annoyed with this small cub, but allowed himself to calm, taking a deep breath through the nose as though he was scenting.
Might aswell let little moody thing here get used to company.
"I'll go and get us some more food for our guest shall I?" He asked both Shairi and Pekee' imparticular.
No point hunting for the kid if he wasn't hungry, but it was polite to ask him.
He looked a little scrawny anyway.

-A soft murr escaped the oblivious cheetah as she replied brightly.- "Ohhh? I have a very good memory. And besides Pekee is a cute name! Rhymes with alot of things too, I bet it'll even end up in one of my songs about the jungle."
-Her musing however was cut short by hs second statement, finally a look of seriousness and realization seeming to touch her. She looked back and forth between the little one.. and her large companion, before offering softly, ears drooping in gentle dissapointment.- "Oh dear.. we didn't mean to bother you.. It's just always nice to have company.. but if you want to be alone.." -She trailed gently, rather uncertain of how to finish it."
