What is the Fanny Pack Fanlisting?

Well . . . errm. Err . . . Uhh . . . Hmm.
That's a very goOd question.

The Fanny Pack Fanlisting is generally a community of fans who are not only dedicated participants of the 'Draw the Avatar Above You' thread, but also great admirers of the people who make it happen: the DTAAY regulars. Whether you're totally immersed in their various art forms, worshipping the ground they step on, or just really good friends, the Fanny Pack Fanlisting is a way to show off your pride.



So what's with the tags?

Okay. So . . . how can I become a member of the fanlisting?

Easy! Just fill out an application form and post it on this thread . . . And send donations. (No . . . Just kidding. xd )



As of right now, I'm not exactly sure how I want to set up the fanlisting. Especially since this is probably the first fanlisting ever created on Gaia. sweatdrop

Typical fanlistings will include information such as your name, location, e-mail address, and your homepage url. Since Gaia is a forum, creating a forum-based fanlisting is not only different, but semi-difficult. So, for now, I've decided to use just your user name and location. If you have any further suggestions, please, feel free to post your ideas here. heart

Whatever! What I really want to know is . . . How do I get a personal tag?!

Umm . . . well, about that . . . As you can see, I'm a really busy person. sweatdrop
I'd much rather not be spending the whole day making tags. xp
I'd like to enjoy some of my time on Gaia conversing with friends or what not. But, be assured . . . I will eventually make you a tag, but only on the condition that you have followed the RULES.

Or, you can give me a hefty donation, and I will make your tag immediately! xd
(Just kidding . . . but, if you're seriously going to donate to me . . . cough, cough)



How come some people have more than one tag?


Well, if you really must know, I plan on making at least two tags for each DTAAY regular.

Some people get extra tags 'cause they're special. xd

REPEAT: NO!!!!! That's seriously not the case. If I see a picture that I think would loOk nice as a tag, I naturally make more of it. xp
But something tells me I should put a cap to the number of tags I make per person. Just to be fair. But, for now . . . (seeing as I'm way behind schedule), I will ensure that everyone who meets the requirements will get at last two tags. I really would like to make more. And I have every intention to make more . . . But, well see. whee



Why did you choose 'Fanny Pack' as the fanlisting name?

Honestly . . . I have no idea. I suppose I was inclined to choose 'Fanny Pack,' not because I like fanny packs . . . (In fact, they're horrible and they make you look fat.) But . . . because I've been seeing a reemerging of 'Brat Pack' fans recently. You know. The Brat Pack. The 80's most sought after young actors and actresses. (complete and utter silence)

Emilio Estevez, Anthony Michael Hall, Rob Lowe, Andrew McCarthy, Demi Moore, Judd Nelson, Molly Ringwald, Ally Sheedy?

Well, only about three of those names mean anything to me . . . And I've only see Sixteen Candles (not that I can actually remember the plot. Wait. Was there a plot?)

Anyway . . . Yes. I don't know why I choose 'Fanny Pack' . . . We're fans. And we're a pack. (shrugs)

You can also post up the picture that you would like me to use for your tag on this thread. Actually, that would be a big help. sweatdrop

I wouldn't have to go looking through everybody's album and randosig trying to decide which picture would look good as a tag.

I'm sure this section isn't needed, but . . . just in case.


1. Tags

Please remember to save the tag images on your own harddrive and upload it to your own image hosting account. Generally, most people use Photobucket as their image host. Recently there have been problems with Photobucket, but those errors should already be resolved. Other than that, Photobucket is pretty reliable.

2. Rotating Tags

Again, please refrain from using my account for your randosig. sweatdrop
I'd much rather you create your own randosig account . . .

Rome should be back online now. Simply sign up for an account, go to 'Services,' and there you can create your personal 'Randosig.' Generally, Rome is the easiest randosig host.

If not, CGI Spy is just reliable. A bit more complicated, but fairly easy nontheless. Sign up for an account, go to 'Random Items,' and under 'Random Image' you should be able to add the URL of the tags you would like to include in your randosig.

And, best of all, these services are free.

But if you really don't want to sign up for your own account, please feel free to PM me and I will give you the url to my randosig account. sweatdrop


3. Signature Linking

Although I'd prefer that those who do decide to use my tags link back to this forum or the DTAAY forum, I can't enforce that. Signatures evidentally have a 255 maximum character. And it is difficult for people to add a link when there are other more important things in their signatures.

But, if you do insist on including a link back to this forum, Tiny Url is a reliable service that minimizes the number of characters for a link.
