It all depends on what you're looking for in a guitar.
I've always been a fan of smaller explorer-shaped guitars, such as the Ibanez DTX.
I'd probably head for the V or firebird out of those, though.

i dislike the firebird. they are huge and cumbersome, although they sound great.i like flying Vs and Explorers, but i'd take the V over the Explorer.

Ugh. Those are the same three I'm trying to decide from. If somebody held a gun to my head and told me to give an answer, I'd probably say Explorer.

I'd probably go for the Explorer because it was the guitar which made me wan to play and it's freaking awsome. Or the Flying V just cuz it's freaking awsome. But i guess the Explorer it's not for everyone because it looks to big for some people.

@Metal_Maniac: I think what he was trying to get at is that the V was built for shredding, and if you were a shredder, you wouldn't care if you could play it sitting down or not...'cause it's a V! (but I could be wrong...>.>; )
@Dancing with myself: How is the V for posers? o.O'
@creecher08: I do agree that Gibsons are great, but like Spade Sanosuke said, the ESP and Jackson V's are better. Gibsons aren't "gods". xp
And, in my eyes, it depends if you play rhythme or lead. I've always thought that Explorers are more for the rhythme guitarist, and the V more for the lead guitarist. But it could just be brainwashing from Metallica. (James Hetfield uses Explorer models ALOT)
