Something, Danzi wasn't sure what, summoned him to the borders of the land. It had him stay there and he wasn't sure why. The large orange male had often found himself feeling lonely and cut off from a lot of the members of the pride, since many of them had brothers, or sisters, or both, aunts, uncles, mates, children, nieces, nephews... That were all blood related. It was a constant reminder to him that despite being adopted by Bakhti and Mahiri, he was still very much alone. Nobody was his brother, his sister, his parent, his aunt, uncle, cousin.. Anything. With a heavy sigh, he lay down in the shade of a tree. Now and then, his nose twitched as he smelled something, but it would soon pass by in its trek, most often rogues just passing by on some journey to some land.

Jasiri'ka was on the move again, his paws made little to no noise as he strolled. He had sometimes wondered if he was just in denial. That he would never find his father or mother, probably because they were long dead. Or maybe taken away by the things that walked on two legs.
Trying to shrug away the thoughts, the cub looked on ahead. He could smell another lion, and he stopped short when the adult finally came into sight. He blinked, once. Was he dreaming? He could swear that the lion looked like him... Well, an adult version of him.
Approaching the lion causiously, he started to stare. A grin slowly formed on his maw as he sped towards the lion, getting ready to pounce.
"Father! Jasiri has finally found father!"

The orange lion was sitting up in a flash. Deep green orbs blinked as he looked around, then spied the cub. It was like looking at his reflection a long time ago, but with extra markings on the face and darker eye markings... As he sat there, Danzi's ears flicked forward. The cub smelled... Mildly familiar. And then he remembered a rogue that had come and gone by the border months before. She'd had a similiar marking on her face, the same blue eyes... The same streak down her back... He'd actually produced something?! Shock at such a thing kept the lion silent as he watched the cub, curiosity shining in his eyes.

Jasiri'ka slowed to a stop in front of the lion, and stared at him with awed-filled eyes. It had taken quite a long time, but he had done it! And to think that he had never doubted it. Feeling excited all of a sudden, he ran one round around the adult before halting again.
Reaching out a paw to bat at his tail, Jasiri'ka spoke quickly and escitedly. "Jasiri had been looking for father and mother for long time now! Father, father!"
It was as if the cub enjoyed saying the word 'father'... Maybe he does.

Danzi watched the cub bouncing around, his black nose twitching. Well, it certainly smelled partially like him... Even if he'd never met the cub before. At the little bundle of fur's words, he couldn't help it. He smiled just a bit. That nagging voice in his mind tried to say something, but his mental self sat on it. As usual...
"And where in the lands did you come from... Jasiri?" He was guessing that was the cub's name since it was what he kept refering to himself as. Oh, how would he explain this one to Bakhti...?

The cub stopped trying to catch his father's tail, and lifted his head up. Looking at Danzi, he thought for a while before shaking his head slowly. Where did he come from? He wasn't sure, just that he had been walking and travelling for a long time.
"Jasiri is short for Jasiri'ka." He nodded, his talking speed still rather fast. "But Jasiri do not know where he comes from... Jasiri just came from this direction!" He looked to the West, and tilted his head towards it.
"Where father come from?" Jasiri'ka asked curiously, "Where is mother?"

He nodded, doing his best to keep up. Wow what a hyper cub. He looked to the west, blinking slightly. The desert... At least the Firekin didn't get him. He looked back down, smiling slightly. "An oasis far, far, far away in that same general direction."
At the question of his mother, though... A cub all alone, seeming to think she was alive... It reminded him of his own sense of loss when his own mother had vanished. "I don't know... Did you see anything strange last time you saw her? Strange creatures of some kind walking on two legs wearing colorful skins...?" He wondered if, just maybe, Jasiri'ka's mother had been taken by the two-leggeds like his had.

Jasiri'ka stopped to think for a while. The very short time he had spent with his mother was... Well, short. And he was a really young cub at that time. But he do remember some things, a few fragments of memory from his days together with his mother.
"Jasiri remembers... Walking with mother." He frowned, trying pick up the fragments. "Mother then suddenly placed Jasiri in a cave... Jasiri remembers loud roaring and banging noises outside, but mother had told Jasiri to stay put inside."
He looked sad all of a sudden, "When there were no more noises, Jasiri looked out and mother was gone. Jasiri had been searching since."

((Awwww...))
"Two-leggeds..." He sighed, ears drooping back. "They took my mother, too... We'd left the oasis because it dried up, and she shoved my two sisters and I into a bush to hide when she smelled them. They didn't know we were there, so they only took her." He shook his head, frowning deeply. "Such careless creatures... They don't even stop to think what they might be doing to us!"

{Yep, and Jasiri'ka is so obvious about it! ;-;}
"Took?" Jasiri'ka echoed, ears flattened against his skull. That doesn't sound good at all... He mused over it for a while before adding, "Why did they want to take mother? Mother hid Jasiri in cave, but mother is taken by these two legged things?"
He looked upset. Was his mother gone for good?
"But at least Jasiri has father," The cub purred softly.

((-Hugs him- >: ))
"I don't know..." The adult put a paw around the cub, pulling him close. He sighed heavily, ears flattening back. Well, Jasiri'ka at least had him... When he'd lost his own mother, Danzi had nobody to turn to, especially after he lost his sisters on top of that. Now all that he knew was adopted family. But for Jasiri'ka... It was going to be a whole different story. At least he would have a piece of family. It made the orange lion happy to think about that. It was as if a piece of his heart was being filled in.

{Jasiri'ka: *purrs*
Sorry for the rather late reply. >.<}
Jasiri'ka allowed his father to hug him, purring softly. It had been so long since anyone had held him like this, and the cub enjoyed it. The warmth of the lion touched his heart, and he found himself turning around to face his father. Hugging his father back, Jasiri'ka closed his eyes.
"Jasiri has more family?" He asked hopefully, eyes still closed.

((Was starting to wonder if something came up... xd ))
"Sort of... A lioness here adopted me when I was your age, and all six of her children I've called my brothers and sisters. You'll have to meet most of them some time soon, especially Bakhti." He smiled, patting the cub on the back. Of course, those six lions had grown up. Two were adults, four were adolescents... Danzi wandered how Jasiri'ka would look when he grew up. The big orange lion himself had grown up to be medium in size, lean but not an unhealthy one... He was certainly more filled out than the father he didn't know, but he was still lacking the utter brute strength. His mother had been thin herself that he could remember, but hers... Wasn't a very HEALTHY thinness due to where they lived. Beyond that, he knew nothing. Would the cub take after Danzi himself, or would he take after his mother..? Only time would tell.

{Sort of actually, since my school exams are coming up. xP
If I forgot to reply, feel free to PM me. <3}
"They are... Father's siblings? Is Bakhti special?" Jasiri'ka asked, opening his awed filled eyes. Musing happily over it for a moment, it suddenly dawned on him. He was an only cub, and his mother had been taken away from him before. He was alone for a while...
Looking at Danzi, he hoped that he would not be lonely again. The cub clings to his father's body, " Jasiri meet rest of family soon?" He still felt weird saying the word 'family', for some reason or another.

((I'll give your replies a couple days, then poke xd ; ))
Danzi chuckled, smiling gently. "Bakhti is like a mother to me. And her children are like brothers and sisters to me." Laying down and pulling the cub close, the orange lion was silent just a breath of a moment. "Soon, yes." Family... It had such a nice sound to it. All of his life, Danzi hadn't actually known such a word, but Bakhti had changed that by including him as part of it. It made him feel wonderful.
