Zacarias woke up, seeing everything blurred through sleepy eyes. He lifted his head slowly and shivered a bit, despite the warmth he was resting beside. Wait...warmth? Zac freaked out a bit, confused as to why he was feeling warmth beside him. He pulled himself away and flailed a bit before he managed to pull himself up, hearing whatever it was he'd been resting against flop over into the snow behind him. As he stood, breathing hard, he whirled around to see what it was and suddenly felt really bad. It was only Ehrek, his friend from the other day. He remembered it all now. They'd fallen asleep after Ehrek had broken through the ice and fallen into the river. He freaked out again and then whined apologetically, sticking his tail between his legs and grimacing. "Oops." He mumbled, feeling bad that he'd gotten up so suddenly and let Ehrek just fall face first in the snow.

"Ehrek, wakey wakey, your father said that he's taking you out today to go hunting. Come on, wake up honey." a femine voice called out to him. He could feel the soft warmth from her, then suddenly the warm became cold, the softness still remained but it was very uncomfortable with the cold.

Ehrek moaned when he opened his eyes to only see white. Quickly he jerked up frightened that he had just gone blind. When the wolf moved up, the white vanished and slid off of him, looking down did he notice it was still snow. His head was in snow? The last thing he could recall was a females voice and falling sleep on that wolf's back from the day before. He moved his golden eyes and they fell upon that very wolf too. "Zacarias...." he murmured. The wolf was staring at him, his posture was that of submitting to him. Why? Ehrek cocked his head and wagged his tail a little, "Good morning, there." he greeted with an idiotic smile. He remembered now, the river, the ice, and him. His fur turned a little red and Ehrek turned away a little. "How about we get something to eat."

The small gray wolf whined apologetically again, and then leaned forwards and licked Ehrek's cheek as he turned away. "I'm sorry I let you fall in the snow Ehrek. It was an accident really, I forgot that we'd fallen asleep, and when I felt the warmth as I woke up, I got freaked out." Zac said, all in one breath. He wagged his tail a little as he inhaled deeply, feeling the crisp burn of the wintery air as it filled his lungs. He reclined to his haunches in front of Ehrek, shivering a little as he felt the cold of the snow around his bottom. "Food...yes. Wait....you can hunt in the snow?" He asked, cocking his head and lookign at Ehrek quizzically.

"Sometimes." he replied, he has seen some animals die of it, others losing some limbs or fur. So warmth is the best way of survival. "As long as we stick together, nothing could happen." he smiled. "Come on, let's go get something to eat. A rabbit will do for now before we set off to the mountain." Ehrek smiled and stalked into the forest.

He reclined to his haunches and waited. He just needed to get the smallest trace of scent and he could go on from there. Ehrek waved his tail motioning for Zac to come. He'd need help if he happens to find a speedy rabbit.

Zacarias grinned stupidly and bounced off after Ehrek into the trees, liking the sound of the snow crunching below his paws. "Rabbit....Sounds good, but what's that over there?" He asked, spotting something red jutting from the snow about a hundred feet away. He lifted mis muzzle and tried to sniff the air and see, but it didn't work, so he padded off in it's direction, wondering what it could possibly be. He stopped for a second and looked at Ehrek, grinning, then bounded forwards, now able to see that it was a less than half eaten caribou corpse, kept fresh by the coldness around it. "Awesome, now we don't even have to hunt Ehrek!" He said, excitedly, bounding back to Ehrek, grining the racing back to the giant heap of meat. He padded away from it and lay in the snow, wanting Ehrek to eat first since he was bigger and stronger, and had they been in a pack, the one more than likely to have been Alpha. Zac flattened his ears and rest his chin on his paws, waiting for Ehrek to eat before he could.

Ehrek cocked his head and followed. Zac had found himself a mangled, half devoured caribou. Usually, one would not leave such sort of game out like this. Ehrek approached it careful. He growled, he didn't like this. "Zac, get out of here." he growled. It was better safe than sorry and it was every species out here in the north.

Ehreklept forth and gripped one of the dead caribou's legs and pulled it away, getting it away, stealing it. He pulled it away and and followed close behind Zac, if he were to be ambushed then Zac would have to defend him. He had to get it to the clearing near the river. Got to keep moving. Got to keep moving. he repeated to himself.

Slightly startled, the small gray wolf followed after Erhek, dashing forward to grab a chunk of meat from the partially opened stomach of the caribou, then racing off after him. "Why do we have to run away from it?" He asked, muffled through the fair sized chunk of meat between his jaws. As he bounded after Ehrek, he stumbled a little in the snow, tumbling forwards and crashing into his blue and gray friend, both of them dropping their prizes and rolling in the snow. As they stopped rolling, Zac looked first up at Ehrek, then back a few feet to where they'd dropped their food. He couldn't help but laugh, and he leaned forwards and licked a little bit of snow of Ehrek's nose. "Sorry about that." He said, feeling his own cheeks growing hot, he got up and went back, grabbing the caribou leg and dragging it over to Ehrek and going back for his own little hunk of meat. "I guess we'd better keep going." He laughed.

Ehrek blushed a little from the lick on his nose, not very used to having another male do such a thing to him....He watched the other wolf bring the game to him and he took it and started to drag it again.

"We got to get this away from there so whatever killed it doesn't find it. By the time it finds us we would have already eaten it." he explained vaguely around his mouth full of meat. Ehrek shot glances in every directions just to make sure the two were safe, luckily nothing suspicious came.

Back by the river side, the blue hued wolf dropped the caribou and laid beside it. "Go ahead, Zac." he said, nodding to his companion. As Zac would eat, he would watch for him, besides, he wanted Zac to eat first.
