Maryke was lost, very much so. She had meant to go to the beach or walk along the trails there, but somewhere along the way she ended up twisting and turning down paths and roads until all she saw was leaves and foliage. And with the high sandals she was wearing and the unnerving fact that there was half human, half animal people running around didn't exactly make her fear of being lost any less great. Sure, so far the islanders she had met weren't exactly quick to crunch down on her soft and delicate bones. But, you never knew!
Not to mention there could be real animals lurking around. Animals like snakes, or bugs, or....oh god, she really needed to stop thinking right now. She needed to stop thinking about the fears she had and focus on getting the ******** out of here. Back to the safety of her duplex or perhaps the safety of at least somewhere that was better lit.

How ironic that the newcomer had stepped foot in a place that most seasoned islanders avoided. Jamal didn't know if it was because they all knew that the jungle was where he hid nowadays or if their own fears of the lesser animals was enough to keep them away. Or maybe the memories of the lockout and of Aubrey's attack had something to do with it. Jamal didn't know and didn't care to know.
He'd abandoned his duplex nearly a month and a half ago and had been living his days out in the solitude of his section of the jungle, returning to the village only to eat and to check for any gossip. He was loathe to use anything the staff provided, including the duplexes and it's cafeteria. Now that his latest transformation had gave him the required weaponry to successfully hunt prey and the guts to handle raw meat in a much more satisfactory manner, his trips to the cafeteria were even fewer and far between.
The metallic tang of blood had yet to leave his mouth from his lunch when he heard movement in the distance and scented a strong stench of fear and an unfamiliar, but female, smell with it. Normally he would have ignored it, climbed a tree, and set to grooming the crusted blood from between his fingers and on his chest, but even Jamal found himself lonely. Among other things as well, but he refused to track Antony down for fear of her rejecting him or him trying to EAT her again.
He flicked his ears forward and shifted to an all four-stance...something akin to a Tarzan-like hunch...and headed towards the smell and sounds, pushing bushes and limbs out of the way as noiselessly as he could manage.

Fear was a curious thing. Every little snap of a twig, every little small movement the wind made as it blew through the trees was extended. It seemed bigger then it was and to a 117lb woman with nothing on her for protection each sound was like a warning cry. Run run...! But, as much as she'd love to haul a** she knew she wouldn't be able to get very far in these heels not to mention it would only help if you knew where you were running TO. Well, life could be a b***h like that. But, she knew she needed to keep her fears in check. Just the wind...just the leaves....just a....
No. No, she had really heard something that time. It was just a small little something, but it was enough to make the hair on the back of her neck stand on end. She felt a cold dark chill in the bit of her stomach, like her own intution that spoke volumes to her. Something that told her something was seriously wrong here.
"If you're gonna attack might as well get it over with now," she told the air, with a raised eyebrow. "Can't keep a girl in suspense forever..."
She didn't know if there was or wasn't another person around or if it was more fears playing around in her mind. But, the sound of her own voice seemed to calm her, not by much, but some.

Jamal paused alongside a large tree and gave a crackling sort of growl as he placed a hand on the rough bark to steady himself as he stood as a biped again. All the shifted muscle and bone in his legs had not yet made him confident on his feet as a human, but he'd be damned if he was going to come out on all fours, even if that way was more efficient.
"Ya ain't even seen me yet 'n' ya already assumin' s**t," he drawled, a light lisp affecting his speech thanks to his oversided fangs. "Yer lucky I ate already."
Part of that was a joke...part of it wasn't. The aftermath of his transformation hadn't been pretty, but it was better for the woman that he regained as much control over himself as possible now and taken it out on some pig-like thing hours earlier.
He sniffed the air experimentally before shoving forward a bit. Not enough to reveal himself, but enough to where it pinpointed his position for the woman.

She stiffened as his voice cut into the air and drifted throughout the semi-darkness. Had the stars been brighter or the sky not so cloudy maybe she could have gotten a better look, but in the present case all she could go by was his voice. Instantly she noted the way he talk coupled with the lisp. Well, at least it wasn't a snake or bug or something. Things that talked seemed to be easier for her to deal with. For instance, had it been a snake, she would probably already be running by now. Heels or not.
"Oh am I?" she said casually, moving her her body slightly to face where the voice and movements came from, even though she couldn't see him. "I wasn't assuming anything you know....other then I'm scared shitless right now. So I'd have said the same thing if you were a bunny that hopped out at me. Big dark scary woods at night usually do that to a person..."
She moved forward a little, curiousity getting the best of her. Even moreso then the fear that she still carried with her. By his words she knew one thing, he wasn't someone to be messed with. People didn't usually make threats unless they could back them up. From her line of work, she especially knew that. And what she also knew was the people around here seemed to appreciate it when you treated them like their former selves. Like humans. Well if he played nice then she would too. Not that she had much wieght against him.
So she stopped after only a few more steps, not wanting to step on his toes and then said seriously, "If you want me to leave, then that's fine..but...I'm kinda lost..."

"Hard ta leave really if ya lost," he grunted flatly, unimpressed so far with this stranger, his fur automatically bristling upon her first steps forward. By the time she had stopped, Jamal could more ore less see her. The darkness didn't work to her advantage in seeing him, but it didn't bother Jamal at all. It was clear to him, being the observant male he was, that she was highly attractive and legal, not that the latter mattered much on an island with no law but Moreau's. He'd never seen her before. She had to be new.
Maybe if he was nice and helped her out, she could help him out. Ehehe.
After a moment of debate, he pushed forward again, sweeping a hunk of bush away with his arm, and came into view. "Good thing ya ran inta someone who lives out herr...I know da jungle like da back of my hand."
Now would be the real test. If the girl freaked out, then he doubted she'd be easily persuaded at any cost. If not, then perhaps there was merit in helping her out.

"Which is why I was hoping you wouldn't make me," she retorted. She stayed where she was, but she crossed her hands over her large chest, partly from the slight chill in the air and partly because she could feel the tension, which was making her agitated. She wasn't used to being the one not having all the control. After the pregnant pause she finally heard and saw the bush being parted and she waited with bated breath to catch a glimpse of the man behind the voice.
Of course Maryke didn't freak out. For one she had already seen too many changed islanders to be completely surprised and for another, back in the real world, she had seen the worst of humanity. Things that most would cringe at. And this? Well, it was like taking in a trip through a haunted house and realizing the thing you were worried about wasn't that scary afterall. Of course the fangs and the fact that he was half white TIGER didn't make her take her gaurd down completely, but at least she wasn't entirely afraid.
"So that mean you're going to help me?" she asked, letting a classic grin slip to her features.

Oh good, at least the girl wasn't a complete loss.
"I guess I could," he drawled slowly, scratching his furry chin with one exposed claw, the statement dripping with a tone that read but why should I? "I'mma very busy man."
That was a bold-faced lie and he knew it by the smirk that crossed his feline lips. He had to give her credit for not running off screaming. Either she wasn't easily scared or she hadn't heard stories about him yet. It might even be that she knew how to work things to her advantage out of necessity.
"Who are ya exactly? I didn't know anythin' 'bout new ones gettin' dropped off." He paused, giving her a once over, which paused at length on her covered chest. "At least they made a good choice this time."

Oh please, she could TOTALLY tell what was going on here. Afterall sex and sexual offers were Maryke's business and her staple, nothing went by without her catching on to it. So that was good. She was back in her element. Granted people usually weren't this blantantly obvious about it and she usually was very picky about who her cliental was, but in the given situation...use what you know.
"Just got here a few days ago. Name's Maryke," she was about to say more, give him more information to ease his question off, but then he started to check her out. And when he pinpointed in at her tits, well she knew how to work this. She wanted to get back to safety and he obviously wanted...something else. Fine. The two would meet in the middle, compromise if you will.
"Like what you see?" she asked casually, licking her lips some and arching an eyebrow.

She wasn't stupid either. Another plus.
"Welcome to da ********' island," he said with an eye-roll that briefly displaced his icy glare from her boobs. raising his hands up in a grand, if not over-done, jazz-hand motion. "Da name's Jamal. I wouldn't be surprised if ya already been told ta watch out fer me. I ain't got too many friends 'round herr. I guess taking a chunk outta da staff girly scared a few people."
He grinned, lips parting over his already well-displayed fangs, and arched a brow too.
"I kin appreciate a smokin' hot woman, if dat's what ya mean," said Jamal bluntly. "It's been awhile."

She chuckled slightly in amusement at his little mockery of the island display and then shook her head. "Haven't heard about you, but you attacked someone on staff? Hmmm, I figured that would have made you a celebrity around here...."
At his grin, she didn't even flinch at the fangs through inwardly her heart skipped a beat, she let the smirk stay on her lips. "Yeah..." she said her voice low and husky, now meant for HIS amusement. "That's what I meant..."
She inched closer, stopping every few beats just in case he wanted her to stop, that and she was letting him get the full show in the smaller rays of light that she passed under. Her hips swaying, her lips pursed in a little trademark pout, and the moonlight making her hazel eyes dance. "How about we level, mmmkay? You help me out and...." Her grin widened, "I help you out."

"Not if da b***h is one the otha' islanders LIKE," he replied easily as he leaned back against the previously mentioned tree, crossing his arms across his mostly smooth chest.
Her seductive saunter was hardly unnoticed. If Jamal wasn't a total hornball as it was, the tiger certainly wouldn't have let him ignore the display. It had been a long time since he'd been graced with such company....he hadn't seen Antony or Kaveri in AGES....and like hell he was going to miss out on an opportunity from a woman who obviously thought along the same lines as he did. He remained alert to her every move, to every suggestive curve and twist of her body, but did his best to keep his cool.
"I might need a lotta help," he practically purred, gracing her form with another look over. "Could ya handle it?"

She remained cool and collected. He was just like all the other men she'd serviced. Of course for the past few years she didn't have to service anyone. Maryke was a madame afterall and probably the best there ever was. Which meant in a situation like this she'd just send a girl to ******** Jamal senseless then she'd be paid and the deal would be complete. But, this was a new place...new time. Oh well, she still knew what men wanted regardless and by the way he talked she wouldn't have to pull out any of her specialities for him.
She finally completed the remained steps to get to him and leaned in close, certainly enough for him to get a better look at her cleavage for their height differences and to where she was almost near his ear.
"Trust me, I know I can handle it...besides.....I'm used to big help..."

Jamal regarded her nonchalantly, even until she was practically leaning ON him, but his whiskers twitched as he was swept up fully by her distinctive smell and that oh-so-alluring countenance. He had to severely resist the urge to pounce.
"Well then," he finally said, lifting a hand and ever so gently placing the tip of a claw on the underside of her chin, which he then equally gently dragged forward so it was a slight tickle to her skin, then pried himself from his comfy position against the tree. "Then what are we waitin' fo?" He smiled ferally and liberally stared at her backside as he skirted around her, then motioned for him to follow. Jamal didn't want to drag this out any longer now that nookie was involved.

She grinned and nodded, quick of course to follow him. She could play it anyway he wanted, so long as it was still her behind the helm. If he wanted her sweet and innocent, she could work that, dominate and predator like, then she could work that too.
"Ready when you are," she announced, as she began walking along with.
