Name: Nova Shining (otherwise known as Shiny, Chibi-chan, Nova, and SS)
Age: 800-ish
Gender: Female
Race: Dryad
Appearance: She is tall and slender, with long red hair, which is generally plaited down her back, but is sometimes left just to fall. Her hair is naturally green, but she dyes it. Spritely green eyes stare out from this hair, met by a pointed chin. She has, on occasion, been mistaken for a man, due to a rather small chest, and lack of hips. Not that she particularly minds. Her skin is a light coffee color, and there is a tatoo of a red rose on her left shoulder. Her back has the marks of a whip - it is scarred in several places.
Personality: Loud and abrasive, she isn't always the best sort to get involved with. If she likes you, she has odd ways of showing it - for example, as a friend found out, burying you under a ton of soil. If she has decided she knows what's best for you, then she will follow that through, usually. The infuriating thing is that she usually turns out to be right.
Magickal abilities: Firstly, she's a healer. This isn't all magick, just a small part, being as she has a large supply of potions and poultices for all occasions. Secondly, she has the usual dryadic abilities, which could be put under the basic title of 'Earth Magicks'.
Bio: She was born 200-odd years ago in this timespan; she was a hundred and fifty years old, a relatively young dryad, when she was kidnapped by a demon lord, going by the name of Assael. She resided in his kingdom, which has a variable timescale compared to Gaia, for about three hundred and fifty years of *her* aging. She struck a bargain, the details of which are unknown, when her daughter was due to be born, and managed to make her way back to Gaia. The child born was a dryad-demon halfbreed, and grew up with a rather succubian nature; Nova called her Lilith, but whether this is a nickname is a mystery, as it is rather appropriate.
For the past fifty years, she has lived a relatively blameless existence - she has, however, built herself up a rather large family, of adopted children and animals. Recently she was blessed with a grandson, who, due to complicated Chronotemporal thingies is at the same time born a few months ago, and a toddler. Don't ask.
Recently, she has had a longing for a child of her own; maternal longings hit dryads like that - all part and parcel of being creatures of the earth.

Lilith
The kids half-demon teenage sister. Daughter of a v. powerful demon lord (see Assael), and mother of Xue. Succubistic tendencies. Also worries about Nova when she uses magick, as that's the way her aunt went.
Xue
Nephew. A toddler, but at the same time only a few months old. Complicated and irritating circumstances, so don't ask. 1/4 dryad, 1/4 demon, and half-human.
Assael
v. powerful demon lord. Father of Lilith, Grandfather of Xue. Has never been seen on Gaia, although there are reports of him. Occasionally takes an interest in their lives when the fancy takes him.
Fedhlimidh
An adult satyr. Amnesiac. Formerly evil, possibly still evil. Who knows? Took Xue away recently to protect him from Assael.
The Grim
The kid's aunt. An incarnation of pure evil, the soul of a dryad twisted and bent, seeking out magick constantly, etc. Nova has fought her on several occasions, but they are well matched. She became this way when she became addicted to her magicks. True name unknown.
The Andros
Gold, Fer, and Marduk. Gold is... well, Gold, Fer is a tiger anthro, and Marduk is a fabulously rich dragon anthro. They currently live in another dimension, but Nova plans to bring the teenagers home soon. All three are currently androgynous.
Avocado
A drake-child. Keeps himself to himself; very little is known.
The velocifalcons
Three of these; a cross between a velociraptor and a falcon. May be dangerous to small children, but most definetly intelligent.
Kelly
A pretty winged phoenix girl (hououza komodo). Has had a few run-ins with Fedh. Very affectionate towards small children, and has a part-time job in a sweet store.
Marrissa and co
Cat anthros. Just let them be, it's easier. Marrissa, her brother, Taris, and one of Marrissa's kittens. The other is with Otien, Marrissas on-and-off husband.
Lina
Large grey wolfhound. Accompanied Nova on her first trip to the clinic. Not keen on werewolves.
Kaelin
A young water nymph. Lives in a pond outside Nova's house, and occasionally inhabits a wheelbarrow when she wants to get somewhere.
GD
A large, vicious, broody wyvern. Beware. Yellow and black are warning colors in nature for a reason.
The Fractal Dragons
Nova has two or three of these; it's hard to keep track. They seem to multiply pretty quickly.
The flesh-eating horses
Where or when Nova acquired these, she doesn't talk about. They appear in Greek Mythology, and it's fair to say it's likely that these are descendants.
Apollo
Nova is distantly descended from this particular God, being an Oreiad - a branch into which he intermarried. It's unlikely he'll turn up, and as these Gods have no power now, she can probably turn him out. This is a good thing, considering his record when it comes to his love life. He has interfered in her life several times to date.
